Gave this advice 1 up on the Surgical Extraction suggestion. Especially in Legacy.

1st turn. Swamp. Dark Ritual. Cast Thoughtseize and Hymn to Tourach/Wrench Mind. Target opponent just discarded 3 cards. You now pay 2 life for Surgical Extraction. You now get to pick one of those 3 cards in your opponent's graveyard (and you probably got one of their best cards with thoughtseize) and remove all copies of it from the game. Huge disruption! You just lost 4 life on your first turn, but your opponent, there is a good chance, just also lost his combo/winning card. Nasty. Nasty. Nasty.

I do not use Cabal Coffers...but I also agree, again, that they are better than your fetchlands.

A friendly advice...I would run Murder instead of Smother. It cost one more mana...but it kills any creature. It is better. There is a newer card that kills any creature or Planeswalker, but not sure of it's name (and I think it is expensive).

Good luck!

Share the love, give me some advice to help my version of Near Death out. Mine is much slower and relies on you either running out of cards or trying to kill me and me winning via Near Death.

A card in my deck that you could consider...might be Worship.

Fortune thief is the same as Ali, but for one more mana...might consider running him too. As a back up.

Just throwing ideas out there.

I like this deck. Instead of sitting back and letting them get you to one life, you do it yourself. Nice.

Not sure what I would change...if i had to say you had a weakness (trying to help your deck, not be a jerk: friendly advice) it would be not having a search engine for Ali or Near Death. But you do, however, have stuff (the red burn and Angel"s Grace) that buys you time until you get those cards. Again, good job. This is way better than a deck with 50,000 lands.

I seem to hate more and more lately, on this website...and it is because of decks like this. It has 40 likes and is utter crap. It is a gag. Can't even win. I think for 2 or 3 weeks on a deck, design it, and I get 1 or 2 likes. Go figure.

I like your mana sources. Dark Ritual. Crypt Ghast. Nirkana Revenant.

I might add draw cards. Maybe Sign in Blood. You could afford the two life with your enchantment/sorcery gain life combos. It gives you two extra cards. With a Crypt Ghast in play, you could cast Sign in Blood for one swamp and draw 2 cards. That is awesome speed. And it helps keep cards in your hand. Would take out the Plague Winds for them.

Hope the advice can work. Good luck. I like it.

Thanks for the advice. I have a few Reckless Abandon lying around. Don't have any Wheel of Fortunes or Factories though.

Yes, Puschkin, as I and other people have stated in one of his other top decks (Psychonauts), he plays against crappy people/decks/slow decks apparently. I really like his deck ideas, if you get to play in a closed vacuum where your opponent doesn't get to play any cards, but most opponents aren't going to sit around for 5 turns not playing anything...or even 1 or 2 turns, for that matter.

Not to hate (okay, to hate a little because I think I build decent decks, not killer decks...but decent ones, and do not get even half the love you get for your decks), I do not understand how someone who keeps making decks with 1 win condition, that can easily be disrupted, has so many top decks.

You have some nice cards in your sideboard. Impulse is a good choice too. I would take Impulse over Faithless Looting any day. Look at top 4 cards in your library and pick ANY ONE OF THOSE to put in your hand. That is an extreme advantage.

I like the Gitixian Probe over Preordain.

Mystic Tutor is banned...might consider Browbeat instead. Yeah, it doesn't search for a card, but it does let you draw 3. It is an idea. Only reason I would run a banned card that lets you search for a card...if that card you search for is your winning combo card. If you are using Mystic Tutor to just pull any old card out of your library...might not be worth making your deck banned for.

Friendly Suggestions would be: Take out Faithless Looting, Preordain, and Mystic Tutor (might exchange Magma Jet with Lightning Bolt, too). Add in Impulse, Gitixian Probe, and Browbeat.

I like what you are trying to do with this deck. Good luck.

I think it could work in a pure burn deck too. I mean, by turn 4 or 5 you are out of cards anyways, and are top decking. Might as well get more bang for your buck.

Nice, now add 2 more Howling Mine. I believe...you are using all of your blue spells for bounce and none for drawing power. It makes sense that you would want/need to keep your blue mana open for Echo Mage and for bouncing pesky threats your opponent has. You are trying to cast all of your cheap ass instant spells as fast as you can to power up Talrand and Guttersnipe. Howling Mine is going to increase your chance, every turn, to draw an instant card. That is going to help out 3 different cards in this deck, Talrand, Snipe, and Echo Mage.

I would go so far as to say that it would be a hard choice for me to choose second turn Howling Mine or bouncing a land with Boomerang/drastically reducing their speed. It is simple as me assuming your deck, as it is designed, would almost assuredly benefit more from each person drawing 2 cards per turn versus your opponent.

I agree. You have a chance at getting another Dragonauts (you have 4 copies of them) and you have Noxious Recall to bring them back to your hand. That was a good idea. And you have Pact of Negation to counter their crap when you build up your Dragonauts. I agree with all of that. And liked your deck, as stated before. When it works, it works amazingly, I am sure.

I was trying to suggest advice for when your deck gets disrupted. Apparently, you do not run against much opponents that can throw down major disruption against you. So, final friendly advice. Buy/find 2 Nivix Cyclops for a sideboard (might would take out Negate if you ever need the Cyclops), when you go find your local card shop and play anyone new.

And I take my comments back on taking out Pact of Negation. With you only running Dragonauts and no creature removal, and relying heavy on your +2/+2 and +3/+3 spells, Pact of Negation becomes one of your most important cards. Good job on that and Noxious Recall.

Thoughtlash. Immortal Coil. Bojuka Bog. Nefarious Lich. I have them in my deck, inspiered by this deck. Soldier333 gave advice on it. Check it out. Most of these cards could be in his sideboard...maybe.

I see where Splooge is coming from. Third turn Dragonauts. Fourth turn play: Brute Force, Mutagenic Growth, and Psychotic Fury on Dragonnauts. Attack. Dragonauts is a flying 12/8 with double strike. 24 points coming at you! That is good stuff, and why I liked the deck.

But reality is, people are going to be playing extraction as Tambornegro said. Murder to kill it. Lightning Bolt to kill it. One single 1/1 flyer will negate all 24 points of damage, if I am not mistaken. But I do get where you are coming from. It is a good idea and win, when it is pulled off, 24 damage on the 4th turn is fun! And I can see where you would feel you are killing the theme/combo of the deck by diluting it with another creature card to share in the glory.
