"It's time to BEAR arms!"

^i just had to say that :p

I've done a bear deck once before, but I concentrated on auras instead of equipment:

The problem is, colour isn't a deciding factor of a direction for a deck. PM me on the forums so I can explain further.

If I did go the Tooth and Nail route, it'd redesign the mana ramp of this deck to run the Urza lands combo. And I'd also only need to have 1, maybe 2 War-Prides. Additionally I could then add Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker to make a copy of the War-Pride and attack on the same turn... makes me want to actually do that :?

Avalanche Riders killing itself opens up Morbid, thus making Brimstone Volley do 5 damage :p
Dingus Egg is often a good addition to LD decks.

Not sure I see what you're trying to achieve with this deck.

If you get the Izzet vs Golgari dual deck, the Golgari side has dome nice Dredge cards (Stinkweed Imp, Life from the Loam) and some nice big green and black creatures (Doomgape and Gleencrawler). What I did was I bought one and a friend that likes Izzet bought one, then we swapped the decks, now I have 2 of the Golgari deck and my friend has 2 of the Izzet deck :p The deck could help you give your deck direction.

Another "bomb" for an elf deck is Ezuri Renegade leader. Word of advice, keep Ezuri in hand until the turn you wish to activate his ability, he tends to get killed easily.

I believe I've had one better with my elf token deck:
T1 - Forest, play Heritage Druid
T2 - Forest, play Essence Warden and Joraga Warcaller (not kicked), tap the 3 to Heritage's ability, play Elvish Archdruid.
T3 - Forest, play Bramblewood Paragon. Tap Archdruid for 5 green and 3 other elves to Heritage for 3 more green (total 8 green), play Elvish Promenade, play another Elvish Promenade. That's 15 elf warrior tokens that are 3/3's with trample.

^That^ actually happened. My opponent conceded before I could attack on turn 4 :D

Momentary Blink (and to a lesser effect, Cloudshift) can flick the Hunted.
Alternatively, black instead of white opens up Bloodseeker to replace the Priest, and allows for the Blood artist + mass removal "combo" (Cower in Fear comes to mind). I know that the black idea is against what you're trying to do, but it's more "evil" imo. Also it allows for Hissing Measma (in place of Ghostly Prison) and Stronghold Discipline.

You could use creatures that kill lands as they enter the battlefield (Avalanche Riders) and / or creatures that care for number of lands in graveyards (Terravore).

Sudden Spoiling makes for a nice uncounterable pseudo-Darkness

Inkfathom Infiltrater is another nice merfolk for this deck type.
Also AEther Vial is almost a must. Most of your creatures cost 2 and the vial allows for you to keep mana open to counter stuff :p

Ja, the lands are quite expensive (especially Tundra and Underground Sea) but they could easily be replaced with basic lands to almost halve the price of this deck.

This deck uses the core of my elf token deck and it can trigger quite early. With a more recent build I've produced 15 3/3 elf warrior tokens with trample (had a Bramblewood out). So quite quick.

War-Pride's 2 biggest downfalls are the lack of haste and the fact that most creatures die to it in combat, so duplication (though fun) isn't always the best war to manipulate War-Pride :/

Wrath affects are always a problem for creature based decks, thank [enter deity here] that few people play them in 1 on 1 matches :p

Can't believe I forgot about Congregation at Dawn *facepalm*

As for Defense of the Heart, I tend to build for Modern, so I didn't think of it. Though with all the mana ramp in here, Tooth and Nail mite do the same. Hmmm... :?

Bramblewood has always been paired with War-Pride ever since I realized it's a warrior :p

Ja, Rhys does seem a little out of place here... :/

I also worked out that it's possible to play War-Pride on trun 3 in this deck: T1 - land, mana creature, T2 - land, 3 mana creatures (that a total of 6 potential mana for T3). Yes, I know it's vulnerable to removal, but that's still a lot of mana for turn 3 (7 with a land played). Goldnight commander is cool, but it does cost 1 more than Primal Forcemage.

I won't know what direction I'll take this after testmoding (modifying after playtesting and testing again), but the core will remain :p

Not sure I like Emancipation Angel and Roaring Primadox in here. They force you to recast whatever gets bounced and that could set you back a bit. I suggest looking for more creatures with "enters the battlefield" abilities (like Acidic Slime). Also Conjuerer's Closet is better for continues blinks.

I believe Vial only works properly in a deck with an average creature cmc of 2 or 3 and needs mana open. Or in a deck specifically designed to alter the number of charge counters on it to cheat in creatures, but then why not just use Quicksilver Amulet? Point is I agree that it's a little weak here. Lately I've come to like Village Bellringer, the "flash, untap all your creatures" allows for some big damage swings without worrying about defense (much) and it's a cool target for Restoration Angel's blink.
