Yes, path would still work. Or swords to plowshares. Because a sorcery cannot be played in response to an event. It has a slower casting speed than an instant. So equipping the greaves cannot be done in response to the path being played.

Well, here are a couple of budget decks that I like.
this one is a UG aura deck. it got banned by my play group awhile back.

And this one is a WB deck that I use to teach people to play. It holds its own surprisingly well against more complex decks. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=288785

So... Question. Why the fencing ace over delver? Because of the double strike?

Very interesting. The thragtusk suggests one kind of deck, and your spells suggest another kind. Interesting build, but is the familiar really effective? Also, you have a lot of really expensive cmc cards, and not very many low cmc cards, slowing your deck a little bit.

very nice. I love this deck. great mana curve, and small, simple, but powerful creatures. although... you kinda have 5 child of night cards for some reason... your enchantments buff your small creatures, and your removal protects you from retaliation early game, and gets rid of blockers late game. very well done indeed.
I don't normally like mono colored decks, but this is a fantastic showing. :)
I bow to your skill as a deck builder. :)

You should put Arcanum wings in here, it would help get the Eldrazi Conscription out faster. It has aura swap. When arcanum wings is out, you can pay 2U and switch it for an aura card in your hand.

I seem to have started a defender deck craze. Or at least axebane gaurdian and the mill defender have.
I posted a defender deck a litle while ago, and then all of a sudden they start popping up everywhere.

Mine isn't standard though. it has some older cards in it. maybe you could take a look at it?

I would go with the marauders. Because they will either A) hut really hard, or B) take a kill spell and save a more important or flexible card. Either way it has intimidation factor.the nocturnus is good... But it only benefits you some of the time...

very interesting. I like the concept of using the guaridian to power the door. very cool. although I am pretty sure that you can only tap it for a single color at a time. please correct me if I am wron, because that would be amazing.

True. Been a while since I looked at the card. Still, there are some cards that work well with it. Doomed traveler and such.
