... Fifty USD budgeted EDH deck... Well that makes it official then, you're one of the most awesome people on the Vault.

You've been playing this game since I've been alive almost 0_o
You say that, and yet you're saying you think less of a persons kind idea because of what television programming they enjoy. That's a pretty crappy way to use the "to each their own" line. It's plain rude even.
Not to sound an utter twat, but I think you mistake my passing comment for caring why people are fascinated with him. I have nothing against the guy, but he's just not my cup of tea. More of a PBSIdea channel, ViHart, BoyInABand, or Chappers person when it comes to YouTube in general, and more of an abridged series, or Yahtzee person for comedy.
I never really understood the fascination with him, but I guess his humor just isn't to my kind of thing.
Oh, that's the new method of storage. For us purists, you can tell only by how blind we would make somebody at a beach.
Understanding comes with experience, and if there's anything I have experience playing and building, it would be Pox.No problem, always happy to help!I can see how it would be awkward, I don't think I would be able to stop myself from grinning ear to ear though. Social conventions of sympathetic sportsmanship be damned.
Interesting. The selection of two Pox, and two copies of Smallpox is quite unusual, but strange selections like that are common in your group. What really surprises me is that you play the full playset of Sinkhole, /and/ Hymn to Tourach. Usually those two are vying for the same slot, but in here it feels more like you've replaced the slot usually occupied by what would be other Poxes. Quite an interesting move.Bloodghasts are certainly the easiest win condition to use under a Nether Void, but the landbase feels a bit awkward support them without the full playset of Wastelands to me. Though, in this deck it would be even more awkward trying to play them. If anything, I'd suggest dropping the eleventh Swamp for a second Undiscovered Paradise for consistency of Bloodghasts. All in all, I'm quite impressed. It's well rounded, and has me curious as to which is worse; this, or a Stasis based Prison deck. Also, it may be a bit terrible of me, but I say congratulations on making somebody cry because of this game!
You know it's a common misconception that us gingers have no souls, we just don't have our own.
It was originally running two Bobs, and both Tar Pits, but I actually found replacing the second tar pit in here with a third Bob was much better for consistency. We have had the discussion one or two times, and each time, if I recall correctly, has ended with us saying to each their own.Flusterstorm would be objectively better suited by Spell Pierce in game one. I use it because I know too many Storm players, if I'm entering an unknown meta I do use three copies of Spell Pierce. The idea /was/ originally testing which would be more viable, but same as in TNE I really like both of them equally... Gatekeeper stays more often, Fleshbag Marauder is easier to cast. I'm unable to decide if I must be honest.Bob was bumped to three because I really couldn't decide what to put there. One thing I've considered is the fourth copy of StP, but I just don't know. Perhaps an additional cantrip, probably Ponder if so.Thank you Artemis, you've given me a lot to think about for this project. And of course I would be delighted to give my opinion on it, it's an interesting name, and I know I'll be looking at something quite deserving of it.
>_> I feel, quite suddenly, very self-conscious about that deck. Thank you so much though!
On a more serious note, I think helping new players with basics of deck building, and especially doing it on a budget, makes you the person I'm going to tell people to look for when they start. I jumped off into the deep end with it, and I kind of regret it. I learned Legacy the fast/hard way, but that made me somewhat of a griefing twat. What you're doing will help other people to /not/ be like me when it comes to Magic, and that's pretty great.
It's been too long since I've seen the mighty Storm Crow(best planeswalker, EVER) on front page. You revitalized my belief that competitive magic isn't silly, it's all 'bout them Storm Crows.
I have been agreeing with this since I started this landbase during that period of obsession with Snapcaster. The version I'm really leaning towards ditched the Stoneforge package, but it's even more scatterbrained, and I just can't justify it yet. It was an experiment in balancing my favorite disruption package with my favorite counter suite. Then it was creatures to tempoish pace, and some basic choices. I wound up with 12:12:13 on disruption, counters, bodies. I will note that Tidehollow counts for two on both ends, but I can't think of a reason to /not/ put them in both. I'd honestly quite like it if you would give it a look, instead of this.http://www.mtgvault.com/jensdagon/decks/unnamed-esper-project-2/
@Logazor: I know what you mean... Forums promote a very elitist attitude usually it seems, or at least they have in my experience. The only times I've had an actually nice time on forums for MtG were on here, and when Jericho was a thing. Brewing for that deck never really went very far, it was more or less just finding out which package which people played better.@Sure: I dunno, I think one should be enough, especially with the full set of Entomb and Mox Diamond. I'd sooner recommend a third Undiscovered Paradise, but then again, I'm entirely biased towards three copies of it and Bloodghast. Always been the best numbers for me.@Bl@ckfirI£_Phoen¿x: Still, I'll always feel terrible about things like that. And yeah, I'm going to check it out, not sure how it'll be though. People from outside the vault don't usually mingle it seems, but when they do, they usually find somebody who plays something similar to them, and lend an invite.*does a little dance*
I'm sorry! I'm not in the best state lately, and humor was about the first thing to slip.
ohmygod. Oh. My. God. I'll definitely be looking into that!
I didn't sell my Bitterblossoms, they're currently in the possession of a friend, the card is too good to get rid of. Dark Confidant is as well in my book. I don't really see where you're going with that setup, it just seems like you're talking about adding a slow stable swarm to an explosive one. And the reason I don't like Howling Mine, especially when running disruption, is that I would rather have a dead card than let them have anything in hand.I like Vapors, but I like Bitterblossom soooo much more. And Geth's Verdict isn't such a bad idea, I think if I got rid of Smother, it'd be a tough choice between that, and Victim of Night.
D&T is worse for my decks that aren't graveyard based, but I really don't like how much hate Maverick has... This is why my current form of Contamination Pox is so weird, it was tailored to beating Maverick believe it or not. A lot of our Zoo players made the jump somewhere along the way, and so I'm no longer able to just indiscriminately go all in.I can't agree with that last line enough, but the very rich bit only shows you what you could do with an optimized build though I think. There's a lot of good decks that are relatively cheap for Legacy that can be absolutely monstrous with a good pilot. I can't tell you how many times I've actually been shutdown by somebody playing a budgeted Dragon Stompy for instance.
That right there? That's why I play Smother. Oh, and Ghastly Demise.
