I actually used to love playing manaless Dredge, and heck, I'd still probably play it if it was a viable choice competitively.

LED Dredge is usually pretty easy to beat game two, the explosiveness is lost because of hate, and the option to play slow is where most designs(my own included) fall a bit flat. But beating it /regularly/ in the semi-mirror is actually pretty good.
They're a good investment if you play competitively, but casual they're quite frowned upon. If you go down that road, even if they're given to you, make sure you are okay with being "that one dick".
I do too... This is an online or cards on loan deck mostly now.

Thanks, and that's pretty awesome! I have to leave my city, or do small tournaments with less than 16 people when we want to be competitive... Unless I want to play Standard, but the phrase "let's play Standard!" has probably never left my lips.

And Sure is right, we're pretty much unicorns here... *feels fabulous*

I'm right there with you, I only get to do designs like this if somebody loans me something or it's a proxy tournament. And Dredge is actually a really fun deck to break into with, it also only gets better if you decide your next project is going to be combo(LED into Faithless Looting with a troll in hand? Yes, very yes!).
Snapcaster Control is pretty fun to play on either side of the table I agree, it makes disruption of any kind swing so much advantage that I can't help but love how back and forth games get.
Academy Ruins is one of the oddball choices I've long enjoyed seeing other people use in LandStill, and this is my first time actually running it myself actually. I totally regret not using it before. Going to have to put a couple of cards in my SB for it even!
Ghastly Demise is honestly the best 1cmc kill spell in this deck, and for me it's one of my favorites in general. The idea of using Crop Rotation in it's place is quite tempting though, or maybe even Entomb... It would add a bit of a toolbox aspect to the deck that is kind of lacking. But I think it would require a serious overhaul to support it properly.

I'm glad you like the deck, this thing is super fun to play!

I should have thought about this the second I saw Young Pyromancer >_< It really does cover so much of the flaws inherent to StifleNought. I'm loving it too, but I feel that with this version I want to use one or two more cantrips. Probably a copy of Ponder in place of Trickbind#2...

Ghastly Demise is absolutely amazing in my experience. The only problem I've had is the odd Tarmogoyf slipping through the gaps here and there, but short of running StP this is always a potential worry.

I'm not sure I understand the first bit.
Lotus Petal could help getting that first turn play, but it's also super risky, and the mana becomes a bit redundant rather quickly. And that's why the only acceleration I use in these decks is Ancient Tomb.

Because in the UBx frame I use for StifleNought it's actually more beneficial to use Trickbind, and have Snapcaster and Trinket Mages available. In the UWx version I use Torpor Orb, and it's pretty great, but I want to explore all possible options with StifleNought right now.

I super love this sideboard, it has so many ways to be used that I can't blame you for liking it better than the deck. And thanks for the welcome back, I've been busy with school stuffs, but finally got a bit of a respite to play again.

@Dag: The idea for an Iso-Seek mirror would be to sideboard out Smokestack, and Meekstone for Shadow of Doubt probably. I doubt it would win such an event in any case, at least right now.

@Wumpus: I think there are several, and all accidental.

@Sure: I would like to see that as well, it could flop, or it might beat it soundly. I don't think there'd really be much middle ground.
Shadow of Doubt would again by my choice for that option, simply because I can throw it on Scepter, and it's within the usual range of my trusty frying pan. What's that? Little Timmy can't extract, /and/ I draw? Yes, very yes!

How you feel about Glue is how I feel about that idea.

It certainly is... I'd sooner let our combo player use Yawgmoth's Will.

I was blown away when it happened, I genuinely enjoyed going against these. ROSEWATER!

Skull Clamp really did, and while I wouldn't mind it coming back personally, I know a few people who would aggressively argue against it.

Souls of the Faultless is the devil. That card in budgeted casual is such a freaking pain.

True. One thing I really want to try is the new Orange Dual Dark 50w, thing sounds absolutely epic, and it'd be something I could take with me most places, and all without needing a laptop >_>
I've been looking into Superior, because I need something I can program drums with, but gaaaah that is not a cheap product. Cool to know that you got your sound with a bit of added clarity with it though.

Also, you know I'm always going to say I'd like to hear it. I'll send you a message on the forum.

They are quite fun to ab/use aren't they? Also, I never really saw the reason Survival was banned in the first place. I played against it, and the only negative thing I thought about it was that Loyal Retainers with Iona was quite painful in a post-MT world.

Yeah... Affinity with Sol Ring is insane. Demonic Tutor is useful, but not brokenly so, so I don't blame you for using it. Wheel of Fortune like that is just cruel though, I like it.

That's good. And I think we might do our next campaign in Pathfinder if nobody wants to build their character for M&M... GM RAAAAAAGE!
Also, hell yeah for that! And what Sean and Rich are going to do is go on a magical journey, and see if they can find the Holy Grail, they will not. But they will use the closest they can get(a solo cup from wal-mart perhaps, or something carved from the tusk of an elephant even). I have grown to love Guitar Rig 5 from Native Instruments, I dunno if they would, but I can get just about every tone I want to. If you spring out the additional cash for the pro version you get some really great options to flesh it out more fully.

Sol Ring is pretty epic, but we have an artifact player who would unleash an untold hell with affinity if we let that one in, and we know it. Mind Twist and Demonic Tutor are just epic, and while Demonic Tutor is beyond insane in combo, I find it quite okay in pretty much anything else. I am a bit surprised by Wheel of Fortune though, I forgot that was even on the banned list @_@

Also, how've you been? Was about to ask on the Zombie hate deck when it dinged

They're a ton of fun, and the great part was that this one was specifically /REQUESTED/ by our main Zombie player. Humans can't hold a candle to Zombies he said, it'd be neat to see Humans he said... They say go to hell I said :D

I hate it when it comes time to do that.

I'd probably rather just replace Experiment One with Tarmogoyf, or maybe Nacatl since that's an option once again, and then nix Mana Leak and a copy of Voice for Snapcaster.
I'll be sure to check your deck out, because I think Naya, Dirt, or Grixis would be absolutely insane for it!

If you want something more reasonable, -1 Voice of Resurgence -4 Experiment One(replace with whatever decent 1cmc creature you feel like really), and +2-3 Snapcasters. This was more or less just a shits and giggles deck.
