And this is specifically why Blood Sun is my least favorite card from this set, losing Ghost Quarter as an out against Tron is huge. And to each of you running it I can't blame you, but I can glare at you unhappily.

Felidar Guardian+Saheeli Rai/Kiki-Jiki. They copy, flicker in and out, and then repeat the process ad infinitum.

This is four cards off of the version being run at my shop (-4 Celestial Flare, +2 Ranger of Eos, +2 Oust). This would honestly probably take better advantage of the Blood Moon aggro meta at my shop, but similar to their version I can't help but feel like it's a risky choice with CMC dependent removal being so prevalent right now.

How do you feel about the deck running it without Ghost Quarter, or Flagstones? The Ghost Quarters may not make colored mana, but the ability to take out an Eldrazi Temple, or Tron piece seems too good to pass up to me.

If Invigorate was modern legal, either it or Blighted Agent would have to go. Possibly both, as WotC is already iffy on Infect since it's a turn two to four deck. Probe hurts even with Hope, Jund doesn't have to care, but between Hope and Spellskite it's at least as manageable as it was for right landmass versions. Getting an uncounterable Blighted Agent, and having it sit uncontested until you get your mana back up is huuuuge. I'm still iffy myself on the format, everything I like seems to wind up getting hit by association, but this is just fun.

Thought Scour feeds Become Immense, and Traverse the Ulvenwald. It's also an instant, so draw go into end of turn fun can happen like some kind of bootleg Brainstorm.

I am having a bit of trouble trying to work in Slaughterhorn (tutorable boost!) by the way, as the list is already so tight, but it's something that is just so tempting that I really want to make it happen.

I have to agree with that first part, I really enjoy that RUG development can happen so organically. Though I don't actually feel that RUG takes a lot of skill to pilot, I feel it's just being able to adapt to whatever you draw, which comes more from deck development than anything. Obviously to play it at it's highest you also have to be good at both piloting, and design.

Man, I'm not going to lie, this deck should have turned out much weirder. There's this guy who posts the same picture of Jeff Goldblum every day, and I kept looking at it for inspiration...

I don't even know man, I blame/thank Jeff Goldblum.

I really enjoy the flavor, though I feel Emrakul in the moon is a cop out. But it's so wonderful overall that I really can't help but already love it. That it's being treated as a parasite has me excited, and with the eldritch (duh) implications of the Eldrazi, I've really been enjoying the art as well. Nothing will ever make me feel sorry for Sorin Markov though, an old walker who is also a vampire is pretty much the most unsympathetic thing in this universe short of a certaom elder dragon walker.

I've updated it, and after a few test hands I'm feeling a lot better about this honestly.

Honestly this may be one of the coolest failures I've ever built. I hold that theoretically it's sound, but the execution is off... I need some sort of grave fishing, go down to just three copies of Ulvenwald, and one to two more basic lands.
Again, conceptually sound, and can go off quite well even in this state, it's just not refined.

I've run it at four a few times, but it's still bold new ground for me, I'll admit. Taskmaster actually comes in a lot, more than you would think, but especially against ANT it helps to have a clock. I think Arty, and I, went over this a little before... Not sure though.

And thanks! I'm actually rather excited about the upcoming set, it looks like we'll all have something new to tinker around with ^-^

Eh, I actually enjoy my relative anonymity, but I appreciate that anybody thinks that of something I made. And it's okay if you don't know the format enough to give advice, I'm the same when it comes to anything non-Eternal, haha!

I'm toying with that list, and I keep removing Tabernacle to go to three Therapies (running it over Thoughtseize), and I have to say that it's running incredibly. I've got Entomb in the SB instead of Pox, and Tormod's Crypt, and Tabernacle in place of TNN. It's running rather splendidly for me.

Honestly, Living End had been a setup that has needed reevaluation for a while, and I think the answer is that it's not befitting of the deck anymore. The idea of being able to play with a third copy of Bitter Ordeal is fantastic, but two Thoughtseizes is more questionable than Living End.

Plunge works phenomenally, I've been testing this since you brought it up to me, given the whole layout of the deck I would go so far as to say it's perfect.

This list is from March, and was my first time trying a pure RUG Lands. I had meant to mark it unlisted to show somebody at the shop what it looked like at it's starting point actually.

Jeskai is super fun in Modern, but I can only say so from the otherside of the table lol. If you'd link your list, I would love a chance to check one out more indepth ^-^

And thanks for the compliments, this thing was an absolute blast to play during my testing over the last week. But are you trying to suggest that's not a universal idea of fun?

I'm primarily an Eternal format person myself, Legacy, Vintage, and more recently Modern. EDH was always pretty much "how much can I grief the table?" with my group, and Standard was never my thing.
Also didn't play that much competitively, or at least tournament wise. Somewhere along the lines the shop I originally tried to set up a DCI number at did, but only over a year late.

Always sad when your friends ban a deck from casual play, but to be fair, Reanimator is pretty epic.
And you should enjoy a nice success rate if you were to build Modern Infect. It's quite potent.

I know those feels, I haven't tinkered with it in a while, but Reanimator was probably one of my longest standing competitive decks... Then we had this flood of Maverick players playing Dirt, and I just wept softly on the inside.
