I'd ditch them. they're far too slow.

and also, pyroclasm will kill most your guys as well, so that should go, too.

i'd ditch the 4 captivating vamps and 2 pyroclasm for 2 more hexmage and 3 go for the throat with 1 doomblade.

you need to be able to kill stuff FAST.

I get what you're saying, but a great defense isn't exactly a great offense, however it does work in the reverse sense.

sure, creatures may die, but so what?
I'll just lay another guy down, and if I have a mimic vat in play, I WANT my creatures to die, lol.

I ammm debating, however, finding someway to fit in sign in blood(s).
I may remove the persecutor, because even though he's a 6/6 for 4 mana, I find myself sometimes "lucking" into a way to get rid of him.

who knows, though. may be worth while.

Ouuu, if you find the name of the card, I'd love to go extended.

although I've never built an extended deck, I'm sure it would be fun. (:

Ahhhhhh, I see I see.
I can see the value in her, but by reading her alone, it seems as if there's a LOT of potential to get screwed over with her, lol.

A deck I'd lovee to make, is a wither deck. dropping a massacre wurm after all of my opponents creatures have been rendered to 1/1s, ahhh<3

lol@deck title.

Okay, so, it seems as if every deck builder starts off with vampires. I started with vamps, a couple of my friends started with vamps, and the cycle goes on.

But, the secret to vamps is that every card has a LOW casting cost. i.e the highest mana cost in your deck is usually from dark tutelage.

With that being said, most vampire decks often splash red, for cards such as lightning bolt and arc trail. they may seem to do little, but in the scheme of things they do a lot.

So, usually the typical vampire build is 4 bloodghast, 4 pulse tracker, 4 vampire lacerator, and 4 kalastria highborn... also they run 4 viscera seer. (they're actually quite important)

I know that right off the bat, you're probably thinking "WHAT, No nighthawk?"
Well it's actually very simple, vampire nighthawk is a 3 drop. and that's in all honesty, too slow to really do anything essentially productive for vampires.
vampires should realllly get going turn 3. and once kalastria highborn hits, it's usually either you deal with her or die.

so if I were you, I'd look up some vampire decks that placed in the 2010 worlds. I know one deck placed.. 5th maybe? Iunno, but it was b/r.

if you have any questions, feel free to ask :D

Yeah, I can't really say much seeing how I've only ever played standard, but that makes sense.

question though, whats the big deal with braids?
I mean, I don't really see the big deal with her.

Haha thanks!

and yeah, hypnotic seems like a painnnn :P

but i find the secret to MBC is the sideboard. like last night at fnm, i decided to last minute include phyrexian revoker, and man it won me games.
i kept the hexmage maindecked so that if a planeswalker presented itself, I could deal with it. but next game, once I know what I'm going against, I drop the revoker and now their planeswalker is a dead draw. :D

hypnotic spectre gave me an idea for an extended lock down

scratch gruesome encore.
it was really dependent on them having something in the graveyard. which, although probable, wasn't really... a threat anymore?
if it's dead it's dead, lol.
so i switched the 2 of gruesome encore out for 1 sword of body and mind and a 2nd memoricide.

Hahaha not at all.
In this deck, i can get rid of things with black sun zenith, gatekeeper of malakir, anything with death touch, doom blades, go for the throats, disfigure, royal assassin, consuming vapors, and I can ditch things before they even reach the field with sadistic sacrement.

for planeswalkers, I can kill those with hexmage, then game 2 side them out for phyrexian revoker and kill them before they even hit, making them a dead draw.

i can side in ratchet bomb to do various options of killing, lol.

and duress/inquisition really do the trick on either control or boros decks.

Then, after all is said and done, if they run a reallly big ass creature, i can use gruesome encore and mess stuff up, or after all this death, use mimic vat and make them think a little bit.

I love this deck, lol. And all the death that comes with it >:D

Few sideboard changes.
I'm debatingggg ditching gruesome encore, but today it helped a lot.
I went 2/2, and the games I lost, they were extremely close and I lost in 3.

Would have made top 8 if it wasn't for a mirror match in the last round, lol.

Ohwell. (:

i don't know if you've ever seen painful quandary, but if they cant find a maindeck spot, theyd be great in the sideboard for slower matchups.

Found i was always getting too much land, so i dropped 2 swamps and added 1 more gatekeeper and one more doom blade.
then ditched the blades in the sideboard for 2 gruesome encore. I can see that card completely turning a game around.
