Besides you would only want to add maybe two. No more our it would upset the balance too much

I understand that it's not a lot, but in the event you have land and don't need it, you can at least chuck it at the other player or a creature and get some usefulness out of it. It's no different than running shared volley, except vortex stays around after you cast it and doesn't reduce your land count. Don't write off the damage you could get from an extra land or two taking up space in your hand can do. I run vortex and aggressive mining in my modem burn and they work very well . True this isn't straight burn, but it is aggro, which is basically creature burn, so it's worth mentioning
Molten vortex for all your extra land and more damage?
Possibly including either Damnable Pact or Sign in Blood for testing if there are spots opened during testing as alternative methods for late game discard/damage off a triggered Waste Not
Beginning the paperstrip method for testing on the deck. Should help streamline what the deck does and does not need. http://www.mtgvault.com/wickeddarkman/decks/the-paperstrip-method/
http://www.mtgvault.com/drakeraenes/decks/forged-in-steel/new EDH im tinkering with. let me know what you all think
Same here. Constructive criticism is always welcome, so long as you aren't trying to completely change the deck. Likes and such are nice, but I prefer it when I get suggestions on what I could improve. Although my friends might not, since it means they have to deal with that particular deck getting better. Que sera sera
Nasty. Wouldn't want to be across the table from something like this, that's for sure.
Again, all the love for northy. I like him. He's a great deck builder. Nothing against his decks either. And yes, sometimes that's all you need. I made this list because of an innovative combo I found. I've also seen other decks make the hot page because the name grabbed people's attention, and when they looked at it they find a well built deck. If you see a catchy deck name, you are more likely to look at it right? Obviously there's more to it than that, but like I said, it's a start to getting a deck noticed. Making the hot page is a community effort, and I've seen plenty of northy's decks make it there. He may not have one of the highest liked decks, but more of his decks have consistently been liked. Which would you rather have: 15 minutes of fame or a solid reputation that won't fade? Because I'll be the first to say that northernwarlord has one of the best reputations on the site. If you want the honest truth, then let it be from someone who it's actually on this list. I made a deck that was INSANELY popular for a straight two months at the top of the hot page, and guess what! It's only happened once. I've made a few others that have gone hot but they didn't last, meanwhile northy has almost controlled the ENTIRE hot page before. There is almost always a deck of his on it. It's rare to not see one up there. And while I've had one of those top decks, do you see people asking me to make decks for them? No, you don't. This list is for the decks that got their 15 minutes of fame. Meanwhile, northy is getting asked to make decks even now. Yeah some of these decks aren't consent, but hey, magic is all about the odds anyways.
surewhynot over here talking about fruity pebbles in 1st grade and the other kids think he means cereal rofl!
Looks you've got work to do then bro. I'm rooting for you!
I know right? Can't believe mine's only a year old myself. Feels so much longer than that to me
Sounds good to me! I love decks like this because they fit my play style perfectly, even though I prefer rakdos as a whole. That being said though, my mono black vampires still don't lose that often when I bring them to the table.
Northy is good, no argument there, but some decks just grab your attention better. Excellent examples of this are combos like mine that people want to abuse in any way they can, or a deck that breaks color typing like mono black aggro like what surewhynot did. You can make decks all day long and not get a single like. There's no formula for making a good popular deck, but innovation and catchy names would be the best place to start
Blood artist?
Have you looked at maybe updating this, especially since it's been a while since dark ascension, which is the most recent set shown here.
Hehehe glad to see make the list. That was a really fun two months sitting at the top of the hot page lol
Best way I can respond to that is by saying this: if a card is $50 black border and $5 white border, I'm getting the white border. I'll opt for foil occasionally if it's only like an extra buck or two
this deck right here has brought a tear to my eye. i want to make this and play it soooooooooo badly because it would be a blast! its a shame that some of the better pieces are legacy only as i would love to see a modern version of this. i might lok into finding a way to do just that, with credit for the original deck design going to you of course. +1 to you good sir!and actually i have a question. what about running sheoldred? its a free dread return and you get a sac out of it before going off and killing your opponent
Ok so I made a few updates to the deck. Thanks Pushkin for the suggestions!
