True. The direction I would take Auratog is similar to the Hexproof Aura decks seen in Modern.

Auratog + Rancor is the only reason I'm hunting down Auratogs (don't have funds to buy them)

Kor Spiritdancer is a card I'd definitely use if I where to build an Auratog deck. That said, nice build.

I think it should definitely be in here, though I don't know what should be taken out for it.
Also, I don't see Goblin Bushwhacker. Any reason his awesomeness was left out?

It's been a while since I checked the EDH rules, but as far as I remember, your general is supposed to be a legend.

Also, if memory serves, hybrid cards aren't allowed if one of the hybrid colours is not in the general's colour identity, so cards like Manamorphose can't be used if the general is mono red.

Fog only prevents combat damage to you. What you mite want to consider for sideboard is Rootborn Defenses, that'll help against mass burn / destruction.

Seeing as the owl triggers in the opponent's upkeep, how about giving said opponent more upkeeps with Paradox Haze?

I would suggest Arcane Laboratory, but it's not modern legal. The only cards like Arcane Laboratory that are legal in Modern are all white:

Eidolon of Rhetoric
Rule of Law

Dude, you need to add Splinter. Splinter targeting a basic land can cripple a lot of decks :P

I run a similar deck in Pauper. I've found that 21 lands is enough. I suggest you drop your lands to a similar amount, you don't want to sit with too many lands in hand and nothing to play.

Sprout Swarm is a card that might interest you. At first it doesn't look all that impressive, but once you use it with Midnight Guard, you'll be pleasantly surprised how well it works, even though it's not an infinite trigger like Presence of Gond.

Not necessarily. The biggest problem I have with aquiring cards is my lack of funds, not the cost of cards. They may seem well priced to you, but after converting the cost to Rands (I live in South Africa), and adding on the cost to get it here, my wallet cries :'(

Also, I have more than one deck idea I'm working on, so I need to prioritise some over others.

I've been tinkering with a Modern Auratog idea, but sadly, I only own 2 Auratogs and am missing a lot of the other cards I'd like to use in the deck :(
