TMW how are you paying for the attaching/inkmoth activation? opal is legendary so all 3 would have to come down turn two, 2 of them would be sac'd

how would did he sac both opals? like one main pase and then the other in response to no blocks?

Deck building is the hardest part in magic, so that will be a work in progress. It comes down to playing a deck you enjoy that can still win.

In standard this mostly comes down to:
Aggro
Midrange
Control
Tempo

Aggro beats control, control beats midrange and midrange beats aggro(obviously there are exceptions depending on colour combinations)
It's not always about building around 1 card, but that doesn't mean you can't play cards you like.

I really like the deck, but I find shrapnel blast is super awkward with 4 artifacts in the deck

Well i love that we share hobbies/interests:) youre also really good for how long youve been playing:)

In other words its a meta assassin, but its a ton strong that affinity which is why affinity isn't banned out.
Just think if affinity and dredge were in the same format, you would basically only have 6-7 sideboard slots free:P

banning dredge makes perfect sense lol, they want modern to be a turn 4 format.
Dredge is a very oppressive archtype that demands hate(and lots of it)
even if it didn't show often it would warp what you can play in the format as you either had to play a deck thats good against it or a deck thats good against most of the field and has sideboard spots open for hate.
