I know you use simian for the mana ability.

yeah that's cool, I understand dishing out 80$ could be a bit much.

Decay is super good, I just like the reach with lightning bolt.
most of the time it just goes to the face:P

I've been wanting to try the B/W build.
using paths, you mostly get better sideboard cards, I just don't have the lands and don't want to dish the money out atm.
Would love for something like Gerrald's verdict to get reprinted....

The blue build is also decent.
main deck spellskites help a lot vs infect and boggles.
Also you can get your racks and bridges back.
That's a meta choice though, those decks aren't much of a thing for me.

You basically have to hope to have removal in hand... at least with boggles you can drop a lilly or bridge and be fine.
infect is normally a 2-3 turn clock without removal.
I can generally outlast the elfs, its the inkmoths that are annoying lol.

Oh trust me, I have tested tons of different waste not builds.
When it works its absurd, but its a terrible card to draw off the top late game.
If you don't have it in the first few turns it becomes a real drag.(I understand thats why you play 3-4 normally)

I still try to figure ouy what is best in that slot.
Been testing the R/B route with 4x lightning bolt and 2x bitter blossom.
I really enjoy ensnaring bridge also, its really good vs aggro and midrange decks, also stops emrakul and wurmcoil very easy:P.

This is the list that I am currently running/testing.

Really fast and lean, generally only has some troubles with some aggro decks and G/R tron.

The only thing is you are relying on having a waste not...
Tasigar's cruelty and dark deal are just awful without an active waste not.
Seems over priced for little effect.

Well I know where I would make the changes, but you stated you want those cards:P.

"this is a basic control deck" no it isn't, you have far too few lands, and 0 ways to draw cards.
this is a midrange deck(with far too few lands)

Goblin guide would be much better than simian.
Sure simian speeds up hands, but its basically an auto mulligan because it doesn't count as a card.
Beside that maybe rift bolt over Brute Force? at least Titan's Strength lets you dig for more game.

Honestly as a 8-rack player, waste not isn't the best.
The green splash is fine.
3xTasigur's Cruelty is not cost effective, it's an alright card I guess, but having 3 in a deck that can't support them enough is a bad time.

Lilly of the veil is an auto 4 of.
not to mention thoughtsieze and IoK.
Even raven's crime one of the best discard spells this deck has to offer(paired with lilly and dakmor its a decent soft lock.)
I prefer running ensnaring bridge over the extra removal also...

Besides the fact that not all decks play creatures and that anger of the gods hoses this deck, the concept is alright, would need some adjustments to be modern ready.

Decent budget build, land count is a but low for the curve...
Also 4 dismembers is a bit much...

As for changes or adds, I would have to play it myself before being able to properly judge...

I would run 2 urborg, not super likely to come by them, and if one gets nuked you have another.

The only thing is with lilly you kinda need to have stay alive till turn 3.
Thats a lot hard to do vs infect.
Boggles its more realistic, but you can also beat boggles with an early bridge because they use enchantments instead of instants/sorcerys

I really hope they don't unban deathrite:P, its SUPER opressive on graveyard decks and gives a really high standard in toughness to mana dorks.
He makes sideboard cards like Darkblast, Funeral charm a TON worse.(my deck)
I like him and obviously he is a great card, but man it's wayyyy too powerful:P
