I will be doing Dimir. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think transmute and cipher are the guild abilities (with a side order of grind).I will avoid those.
Rep +1 for your stalwart defense of your idea even in the face of adversity! What permanents will you have in play? Crypt of Agadeem? Thats my best shot. Actually maybe you should run 4 of them.
Sounds like a good challenge! It would be helpful to know what abilities tend to go with each guild.Nevertheless, I will endeavor.Edit: +1 Like
Please let me know what you think!Enjoy.
My girlfriend loves pandas. I find it interesting that there are so many black and white creatures in nature that blatantly blend with nothing. Zebras, Penguins, Orcas, Pandas, Siberian Tigers, Buzz and Spike (my cats growing up).Bizarre.But I digress. My initial thought is to keep it as is.Hopefully your Grisly Salvage puts one in hand and dredge puts others in graveyard. Hard cast it turn 5.Then I start thinking outside the box a little.Haakon, Stromgald Scourge + Ashes of the Fallen (choose Knight) = all creatures can be cast from graveyard.Sprinkle in some Nameless Inversion and/or Crib Swap to kill opponent's army. This still means hard casting it for 5, but it means that your DoR's will keep recycling and consistently be on your opponent like Alien facehuggers on hapless support characters. You are right though. Back to the drawing board. Not to worry my friend. Plenty of Ugly Bettys out there to dig from the grave.Um. Is it just me or did that last bit sound a little off?Hope this helps.
I would also not prevent damage before Luminarch Ascension hit the board (see "How to Play" section above).Too bad Serra's Sanctum isn't Modern.
You see, I disagree. The elegance of this deck is in the unorthodox way of turning the game into something other than a slugfest. Typically, tempo magic is about producing damage faster than the other guy. Its akin to heavyweight boxers pummeling each others' heads. With control magic, one fighter is blocking the punches of the other and looking for an opening. While this is similar to control, it seems like this deck dodges the punches altogether.Retiring the tired metaphors to their corners, I will say that your idea for Priviledged Position is excellent. It absolutely belongs in there.I would +2 Priviledged Position, -1 Wrath of God, -1 Entreat the Angels. But that's just me.
So you recommend splash of green for tangle? I do like tangle.
sigh... you are right. It isn't a lock. This deck has vulnerabilities. Like KnightoftheHokeyPokey said,"So is the nature of Magic."Makes the game fun, you know. How would you improve the deck?
While this opinion is grounded in logic and reasonable, it doesn't account for timing. The well-placed removal is perhaps a back-breaker. Dkrocka, your logic is good, but it presumes equality in the utility of all card draws. That is inaccurate.Generally though, I agree with you. More cards creates overwhelming odds of better board conditions. For the contrary, I would argue that an attack forestalled (such as with this deck) tips the scales toward the staller each time it occurs. This deck makes brutal use of time saved. Over several turns, the angelic profit becomes remarkable.
mill would be dangerous, so would rdw I think.I think this deck is awesome though. The potential to crank out angels while stalling the opponent is cool
is there a way to do that free online (not MTGO)?
sure! could u post links here so I can compare?
Nice job, friend. This deck makes my comment on your last deck rather obsolete. I'll leave it to you to puzzle out what I mean.Very straightforward, very mana-efficient.Uses some of my absolute favorite cards (especially Charging Troll)I always liked Armadillo Cloak with Charging Troll, though Behemoth Sledge does roughly the same thing. I think both are uncommon though. Would it be worth it to drop Watchwolf and Wilt Leaf to 2 apiece to put 2 behemoth sledges in?At the risk of being repetitive.....Like +1Edit: I was mistaken. Armadillo Cloak was common. Have at it!
hahahaha! he said forest. and its not even close to the 4th of May.
Nicely done! Those blasted elves! Would you get more mileage out of Shield of the Oversoul if you worked more hybrid w,g elves in?Elvish Promenade would also fit, though it is uncommon so something (heritage elves) would have to be winnowed.Good work! Like +1
I grafted a +1 like.Graft is one of those abilities that often started as a possibility for my plant/simic decks and then got weeded out. (See what I did? Weeded? Plants?)Well, not all puns smell like roses and this one is ripe.I digress.I am particularly appreciative of card draw. Bred for the Hunt and Shielding Plax work nicely for that. Nice variety from the Infiltration Lens I usually run.Unglued and unhinged have always been poopood in my play group and as such I have almost total ignorance of those series. I have to admit I read the Ambiguity card several times and then scratched my head and chalked it up to yet another strange magic card en-counter.Two cards I've never used: Crowned Ceratok and Llanowar Reborn. Thank you for the introduction. You used them well.Would Fuel for the Cause be a good counterspell option? It represents both counter definitions and therefore is not counter-intuitive.
Drat! KotHP makin me work!I will check out the decks!Sure would be great if AFC took off.All these great deck ideas, most of which won't see light of day without the proper format.
sigh...good old days... its banned now, right?
