It seems to me like this would be best as a red/blue deck. Red gives you access to Assault Strobe, which is one of the nastier things to play here, as well as access to Kiln Fiend, which synergies with just about every card you would want to put on the Golems as well. And you could still have access to some removal, in the form of burn (lightning bolt, etc)

Interesting idea, but I would say make it a 'mostly green' five color deck, make most of the mana base green, and use things like Cultivate, Harrow, Birds, Lotus Cobra, and Primeval Titan to either search for other lands or to generate other colors of mana.
Running Tangle Angler without Infiltration Lens is a CRIME. A CRIME, I SAY.
I'd probably go with Harrow over Growth Spasm, because of the awesome synergy with Lotus Cobra to actually increase your mana supply for the turn.
Replace some of the worse (more expensive) ones with Deathtouch equipment.
Wrath of God (or any boardwipe) seems perfect here, considering you don't run any creatures yourself.
Use Assault Strobe! Double strike on Mr Fiend is CRAZY Assault Strobe + Distortion Strike + Kiln Fiend = 16 damage as early as turn 3. Which, assuming you used a burn spell here and there, should mean a win.
Maybe Thrummingbird? The proliferate would let your planeswalkers do dirty, dirty things, as well as making your plant tokens that much bigger with each proliferate. That said, would have to recommend using Ajani Goldmane in this deck if you were to use the Thrummingbirds. Besides the obvious synergy between proliferate and planeswalkers, Ajani's -1 would let you put +1/+1 counters on ALL your creatures, which lets proliferate become NUTS
Wow, how did I never consider Genesis Wave in landfall deck before?! Great idea -- might have to steal it! :D
Storm Cauldron would be extra fun en masse, maybe use some Prototype Portals or Scultping Steels to make a ton of them, so you can drop a crazy amount of lands each turn! That said, be sure and use Lotus Cobras, too -- that will effectively double the amount of mana you'll be able to use over your opponent!
If you're going for a ramp, smaller is better for the most part. I don't really see the necessity of the Grave Titans or Wurmcoils, I think you would be better suited to have some Birds of Paradise as a first turn drop, and some Lotus Cobras to play on turn 2. Turn 1 BoP, Turn 2 Cobra, Turn 3 Fetchland = enough mana to bring out Ob-Nixilis on turn 3. Now the crazy part: drop any land to cast a Primeval Titan on turn 4. Search for 2 fetchlands, crack them, and have enough mana to play ANOTHER Primeval! With the extra 2 lands from that Titan, that's a total of 7 land drops that turn. Ob-Nixilis will have done 21 damage. Also feel free to substitute a Harrow (WHICH YOU SHOULD BE PLAYING!!!) for that second Primeval titan, considering what kind of hand you draw into.
Put in a single Basilisk's Collar. You can fish it out with a Trinket Mage, equip it to your Embersmith, and then enjoy deathtouchy removal of any and all of your opponent's creatures.
It would work better if it also used Harrow/Cultivate/Khalni Heart Expedition/Explore/Oracle of Mul-Daya Check out a deck I have called 'Future Landfall', it's kind of like this
Cultivate is better than Harrow here, overall you'll gain more card advantage, and having a Harrow countered means you just LOST one net land instead of gained. Though to be honest I would prefer either over the Heart Expedition, on the off chance you get a mana screw that's simply a dead card, while either Harrow or Cultivate would help you out in that situation. Also, don't really see how Koth fits, I would think a set of Llanowar Elves and/or Birds of Paradise would do a lot better at accelerating you out of the start. Here is what I would do: -1 Expedition Map -4 Khalni Heart Expedition -4 Koth -1 Harrow +4 Birds of Paradise +2 Avenger of Zenidkar +4 Cultivate
Heartstone is useful if you also run some Ashnod's Altars, since that's an easy infinite mana with Sliver Queen. But yeah, other than that, not all that necessary, since paying 2 for a sliver is already a huge bargain.
Whoops, missed that you want budget alternatives, so prolly no Cobras.......try that new wall from Scars, it's a 0/6 for 2 artifact with a green ability, would help your Battlements make a bit more mana, which I guess is the point.
More Cultivates and Harrows, Lotus Cobras instead of Battlements, and you should be good to go.
Wow, way to be a prick.
This is really light on creature production to be running Eldrazi Monument.... where are standins like Wolfbriar Elemental? Even Nissa would be good, since she could bring out Nissa's Chosen every turn to be sacrificed.
No Bearscape?
