Your last paragraph made me smile. Especially so if you've seen the new Caw-Gate deck in Pauper!?!

I think Ur right here, this is somewhat more controlling, not by much but you know...Still think Chalice is required, 2-3?. Good luck! Always fun to see folks tinkering. :)
Thanks for the input but I have to disagree. Any perceived tension between the 2 are mitigated by having Auras that vaguely do the same thing in the deck, (Ex: U Cartouche + Gryff's Boon or (obviously) Glitters + Ethereal). The evidence for that is the scenario where you have both critters in play and you drop Aura X on 1 of them, draw Aura Y from Sram's ability and Fetch up and attach Aura Y #2 with Paws' ability before casting Aura Y #1 and subsequently fetching Aura Z. This happens quite often after turns 5-6, (the average alpha strike turns), if you set your deck up to take advantage of it by careful Aura selection and (obviously) mana selection. Thanks for commenting tho...
The reason for Gaze over Scour is because it digs, Scour just dumps and you draw a random, this deck wants to locate specific cards, (this is especially evident when you look at the SB configuration). Plus being able to reuse it out of the yard is priceless.Including cards from New sets is always fun, especially when they are good! :)(I even managed to squeeze in some SNC cards)
Sorry for the late reply, sometimes RL takes precedent over silly online discussions. Why the name calling? I criticized your argument suggesting that you might have gotten trapped by statistics that you admitted that you created. Do you see the potential of you possibly being stuck inside a bubble of information causing you to become your own echo chamber? I hope that is not the case when it comes to you but I have to say that I am a bit concerned on your behalf as you instantly switched to an ad hominem attack after I questioned the basis of your reasoning. Please understand that when someone questions your logic and/or thought process that is not an attack on you, just your arguments. When you then respond with personal attacks it just comes across as you don't have valid counter arguments to defend your position. Generally not something a person that have faced criticism and have evaluated counter arguments do, but very often something that insulated bubble residents revert to.Please tell me, what category do you actually belong to?Oh, and enough with the name calling, that shit is just juvenile.
Curious:Aren't you incredibly soft to the most powerful counter in Modern right now: Spell Pierce?I'm also not sure how you beat Cascade decks that are immune to Cage? ( that might just be me as Pox in Legacy is not something I usually spend time worrying about). Not running Chalice seems weird.8 cast also seems like a problem. I also wonder if you just self destruct if you don't draw Urborg?Obviously I have questions! :)However, I kinda like the concept against fair decks, and there are some midrangy fair decks in Modern that will just fold to this.
How am I sure that 4 of the best card in a deck is better then less then 4 you ask.Well, let's start with, say, drafting. Everybody at the table have the exact same chance of winning before a pack is opened. I draft 5 copies of an extremely good common and you draft 3 of an equally good common. Who has the statistical edge based on those commons alone? In constructed you build your deck to support your best and most consistently powerful card. Ex: Death's Shadow, Titan, Hammer to name a few. Here it is Sprite because of the ninja interaction and thus the obvious advantage to in fact use the same Sprite multiple times. Echoing Truth can't do that. Not even close as the use of a Truth on your own Sprite is such a tempo and card advantage negative that it LITTERALLY breaks the entire purpose of this deck.Your Force example is also incredibly flawed as "Forcing a Force" is not only common but can often be a powerplay as it leaves a more powerful Blue card in your hand to be played afterwards. I'm amazed that I have to explain this to you! This is almost MTG 101 level stuff.I say this with the greatest respect but you are right now so far the rabbit hole that I believe that the only way out for you is to put the theory aside and maybe actually play some games at a decent level.I'm not being mean or anything but Sir/Madam you may just need a reset.
I hear ya, cutting $1400 from a Legacy deck by replacing 2 lands with shock lands is to me a "budget" version that allows peeps that don't have a $ tree in the backyard to maybe be exited enough to enter the format. Are they worse? Sure, but are they $1400 worse? Now cutting essential cards is a different story and where I feel we enter the "kitchen table" pre FNM realm.Oh, and as you just mentioned, I'm also part of that particular problem I guess as I just posted a mono W Pioneer Aura deck that will likely be beat about the ears quite a bit when I take it to the next FNM and I did not mark it as budget! :)
But Sir/Madam; your reply just emphasizeed my previous point, didn't it?I've got decks that I'm building/testing that I keep here with all 3 levels of privacy on them, (who doesn't?), and I wouldn't even dream of hitting public unless I have a specific reason. This is not even a subject as Public is not the default! It has to be selected.
dknight27: Would make the site a hella lot easier to navigate!
Sorry man but this time for sure your measurements are just completely off the charts. You need to revisit your formula immediately as there is no other card that belongs in this shell that can even remotely compete with the Sprite. Your current formula is creating a worse deck. I'm sure you are aware of this, but sometimes blindingly trusting statistics is a folly that leads to the wrong conclusions. I fear that in this case the rabbit hole you entered went quite a bit further then you intended to follow. That said, I hope you can convince all my opponents to only play 3 Sprites as that will significantly increase my win %. :)
3 Spellstutter is just incredibly wrong! It is the best card in the deck by a country mile. You just volunteered to make your deck worse by not playing 4. <shaking my head in disbelief>
Ok, so Izzet aggro basically.
Isn't the simple solution to that to not make them public unless you are looking for input?#input. ;)
I'm confused, how does this win in Vintage?
Jeebuz effing crux!I thought this was a site to post deck for views elsewhere and occasionally get some local feedback, ( be it informative or trash), but I had no idea there was a localized pissing contest going on!1 of the two involved in the contest have indeed responded to some of my decks, and I appreciate that, even if I might have disagreed quite strongly it is always good to hear a different point of view. The other 1 I have only experienced as a whining litte troll with no creative input. But that's just me...
Ice Age & Alliances was indeed something special, (to bad they slipped Homelands in between, imagine if that was Cold Snap! What a block that would have been!!)
I wish! :)
I did not. The cost is pretty steep though?! Might even be prohibitive? I was considering a 2nd Chad but 3 mana is also kind of high so I'm currently off it pending further playtesting. Thanks for the tip tho, I love hearing about cards I haven't considered!
Yea, gotta go U to take the shenanigans to the next level! ;)
