Yea, the SB likely needs tweaking. 2x Geist is probably not correct and can easily be more controlling spells instead. Echoing Truth as a 1 of is definitely a contender.

3 or 4 Fjord has been something I've been toggling but landed on 4, (for now), as this is basically a value control deck that tries to answer scary stuff early and slowly out value OP to the point where it doesn't matter anymore what they draw as it will get countered or killed on sight. Ux fae in Pauper is about a mix of value, control and tempo.Right up my alley! :)Oh, forgot to mention the amount of R SB card that demand a high Mountain count.
wickeddarkman: I am aware of that. However, the effect is not particularly good at sorcery speed and the cost of a land coming into play tapped is real. The deck can afford 1 such effect main but +90% of the time the Skyfisher has a better target and the 1 tap land isn't going to cost me too much unless it's in my opening hand.
wickeddarkman: I wish you the best of luck and stay in touch. I don't often meet as dedicated people as you!
wickeddarkman: Dang, that's a project and a half! (pun intended)Good luck with that! I mainly play Modern and Legacy, (when I can find opponents), so Pauper is to me a fun "add on" format, like Pioneer, that I enjoy but don't have the time to seriously invest into.
Muktol: 16 critters is not nearly enough. The vehicles are insurance against the sorcery speed removal, (and Pestilence), that runs rampant in Pauper. They also has a "hidden" psychological effect for G2 where OP boards in all their Artifact removal and I board in dudes to replace the Artifacts. It's a mind game that peeps that that don't know my SB or play style fall for a near surprising amount of time. I can not even imagine how many times my OP's hands have been full of Artifact removal when a 2 power flier kills them. ;)
wickeddarkman: that list is something else! Don't know if I love it or hate it but I sur wanna know how it performs!
wickeddarkman, that sounds quite creative! Let me know how that works for you, please!I was so sick of my own version of a Pestilence MBC deck, (the same over and over again), that I gave it away to a buddy that loves control just to get him into Pauper! :)
Ops, auto correct changed your name Muktol, sorry! :)
Mutton, this is not meant to be a super competitive deck, it's one of my fun brews that wins alot more then it looses. I've got other decks I'd pick if I wanted to play "serious" Pauper. However, on your Pestilence point; half the critters in this deck will pilot the 5/4 trampler, most of the dudes either fly or will pilot something that does. Usually, (in my experience), by the time a Pestilence decks is set up to stabilize their life total is so low that it's an equal liability to OP.I could obviously be wrong, but that is my experience and I've played variants of this deck for years and Pestilence is not on this decks top 5 of tough opponents.Oh, and O-ring also wrecks Pestilence.
wickeddarkman, besides what I feel personally and I also hear from a clear majority of people I play is that people are sick of the whole damn mechanic and that it needs to be banned back to Commander, I can not answer thatThat said, my fav competitive deck is 8 ninja UR Skred with 1 monarch critter just to pseudo counter opponents random monarch dude but the ninjas usually draws way more cards then any monarch emblem in those matches. That and the obnoxious amounts of cards U and B artifact decks can draw nowadays may have left the monarch a second hand citizen?Just me speculating...
Sure, but Guardian also exists in brews and some equipment variants.Oh, and by the way, Pestilence decks has so far not really been an issue. Vehicles with 26 pilots are strangely "immune".
Without building a whole new deck I'd start with cutting Red, your mana is very clunky with all those tap lands and Mutavault in a 3 color deck. Modern is super fast right now and missing on a color for a turn is almost like being timewalked. Black can take over as the cheap removal color. Not playing 4 Counterspell in a control deck is also just wrong, put them in immediately! :)You also need a top end better then Mistbind. Murktide Regent seems like a natural fit. Baby Jace is a trap, "everyody" is playing 1 mana removal nowadays because of the monkey and DRC so he'll just turn on your opponents removal.Spell Pierce SB is excellent now because of cascade decks and othr Tapout strategies.Just my 2 cents.
Nixed the Dismember after playtesting for the 4th Iteration, card is just to darn good! Delay is a "fun of" card that usually works as a Counterspell for 1Ux, in a Delver deck. Is it "premium"? Probably not but plenty good and loads of fun! :)Oh, and this is not GDS of old. This is more grindy then the 2 card combo deck of a couple of years ago! (Oh yea, Lurrus!)
Thanks for the feedback. Another reason I wanted Brutality main is that in a new meta, (after the bans/unban), it is common that Burn and variants of RDW have a period of dominance.
I've got a friend running a somewhat similar shell and he reported that he would have loved to run 2 LotV main, (he does not own any), but he runs a full set of Dark Confidant main and says they are awesome. Food for thought...
Off the top of my head: Needs Spectral Prossession and Smugler's Copter.
LotV puts more Smashers in the yard them Path will ever do! ;)
LotV also handles those guys pretty well and she has way more uses then just a simple removal spell.
The white splash is not for Path, (though nuking a Eldrazi instant speed is good), it is all about Souls and Stony in the SB.
