I could see that. Umbral mantle would turn any creature into a win condition (provided you still have a mana producer as well). Hmm... Might swap out out for some counter spells, or drop 3 individual creatures.

Interesting. Except you cannot have 8 enlightened tutors. Only 4.
OK, I see the self mill strategy with paradise mantle + puresight merrow and maniac, but I'm not sure how you pay for any of the other combos to go infinite. Does it require multiple mantles out? Or am I missing something?Either way this is a cool deck. Gets a +1 from me.
Hmm... Draw all the cards until hitting a true win condition?
thank you!
I love taking cards and using them in ways they were never meant to be used. It is part of the joy I find in mtg.
agreed. I actually have it in a deck with a similar concept, and I never get it out. fun and powerful when it hits the battlefield, but rarely ever happens.
would be hilarious to have It that Betrays in here.
well, this actually doesn't suck. This is rather funny. its like birthing pod, but specifically for Battle of Wits.
Redemption. But... Koalas are a bit suspicious...
Well, thank you. I appreciate that. Now I just gotta get the other colors. Think my white deck succeeds, but the other ones need some work still.
I recall seeing something about that about a month ago. It's still around. Crazy huh?
It isn't so much supposed to be the most powerful cards blue has to offer, just the mechanics. We have bounce and counter magic in the deck.
What a time. I wish I had gotten into magic sooner. But I was kind of stupid and thought it had something to do with devil worship, black magic (no pun intended), voodoo etc... Like I said. I was kind of dense.Oh well, I enjoy the game now and can look back and laugh at myself.
yes, that has been the issue so far. keeping parity can be difficult. the red and green decks are a little under powered by comparison. the white deck is the real powerhouse of the series. we actually had to downgrade some of the cards because they were too good. ethereal armor was stupidly powerful, so it got swapped for Hyena umbra.overall the goal was to have a couple of aspects of each color, as previously stated, as well as a board wipe and some sort of color appropriate removal.
dang, that's a while. my time since 2009 is rather paltry by comparison.
OK, people keep talking about mill cards here. Thought scour is for the draw, and to work with mirror golem.
I thought about it, but decided mill isn't representative of blue in general. So I figured out be the focus of the deck I am working on an easy to understand and use mill deck though.
No idea, I guess people are not interested in simple decks or decks that aren't for standard.
OK, so there is a bit of context I need to clarify. These decks are designed kind of like the duel decks were. To be used against each other. This one isn't entirely finished yet.The goal was to pick one or two things that each color did uniquely, or rather that were associated with that color, and build around that. So they are not meant to be really competitive outside of the teaching setting, just introductory and usable. The white one is the best of them, and my brother and I have been trying to tweak the others to match. The goal was to have as few rare or mythic rare cards and complicated abilities as possible, increasing in complexity as they move from one deck to the next. With the blue one being the last, and this the most complex. This deck in particular is a focused around drawing cards and limiting opponent's board state either with bounce or threaten effects (hence the control magic, no combo). So it's a control deck.Mirror golem is actually here mostly as removal, and to ensure the deck has a clock that can hit the opponent, or have a blocker that won't die in combat, regardless of board state.
