Honestly expected Vraska and The Chain Veil in this deck...

So, Dark Depths color identity would be black I'm assuming? Sounds like a fun play group. My group included Planeswalker's about 6 months ago as well as "Un" cards within reason. Elspeth cranking out soldiers has been a fun experience and dealing with my friends Baron Von Count deck has been a hilarious mad dash to stop him. I run a five color Superfriends with Urza as commander. Just posted it the other day ironically. Glad to see you're still here Sure.
I consider it budget because for me, it was cheap to make. I consider it budget because I kept out cards like Tundra, Hallowed Fountain, and Flooded Strand which would've made the deck ridiculously expensive.I call this deck fun because for the couple games I'll play it against my four-six friends who play magic, I will enjoy watching them scratch their heads.Any time that has happened in my 20+ years of playing magic, then I am happy and having fun. Most decks I make I play them only a handful of times and take them apart and turn to my tens of thousands of cards and make something new.You are entitled to your own opinion about budget. I get it. This may actually be really expensive for you. I am fortunate and I've been playing since '94/'95 and I own all of these cards. It actually didn't cost me a dime to pick these cards out and build the deck because I already had them. If this deck isn't expensive to you and you simply feel anything under $100 is budget, then your budget and my budget obviously vary.Hence the reason I feel this is budget. I can afford it (even if i didn't have all the cards). And I would be able to pay my bills, buy food, put gas in my car, and even buy other shit. I am by no means wealthy either, but I "budget" (no pun intended) my finances so I can buy what I want.
No need to apologize Ded. I agree everyone is entitled to their opinion and I've dealt with a lot worse of a thread of comments than this before on MTGVault. But I try to tag decks properly or as close to accurate as I can to avoid less harsh/ignorant comments, but not everyone reads that stuff.
Ho ho holy shit... I need to rethink my approach.
I didn't mean to trigger so many people. Sheesh
It's just for fun. But you're right, the multiples part can be rough.
Thanks Ded.
Thanks man. It's a lot of fun to use. Fatal Push is great and all, but I prefer Time to Reflect because it takes care of those indestructible Gods. Dusk//Dawn is my favorite card in the deck though. Dusk can hurt you briefly, but Dawn brings just about everything back.
No Nicol Bolas?
Your last deck was a high end cost of about $200 and this one is about $400. I can offer some dragon budget deck advice for modern, but where is your budget? Obviously high end value of these two decks is exaggerated, so with this deck I'll go between mid and high and say $200?I'll dust off my old MTG brain and give it some thought.
I really wanted to include the Duergar, but duergar are considered evil dark dwarves in most other fantasy sources. My friend would've had a stroke if I put them in there. I'm not even sure how he'll respond to the Planeswalkers. Elspeth I see her as an ally they trust since she's human. Koth is one with the mountains so I can see him being a welcomed ally, but Ajani I am really reaching with. But without the Planeswalkers the Heart of Kiran isn't quite as awesome.
I stopped buying Magic cards in mid 2013, so I kinda missed out him. I didn't realize it had been almost 4 years, but I guess it has. I sold so many of my great cards to build my recording studio, but oh well. Commander is my type now. Only gotta worry about owning one of anything.
Ha! Hahaha! I actually own all this stuff because I got them when they came out. I call it budget because it's Vintage minus any Power 9.
Nightmare Lash? Mono Black and the higher life total makes it a much more viable card.
Consuming Vapors and Gatekeeper of Malakir for sideboard options? Massacre Wurm is definitely on the higher end of mana costs, but seems like a viable sideboard option as well.
Crucible of World's is a great card to have in your sideboard in case someone always seems to have a way to exile Marit Lage. If you are hellbent on duplicating Marit Lage, I suggest the card Mirror Gallery.
Swords to Plowshares
Looks like a fun deck to use.And... yes, I'm not dead. Ha!
I feel like 3 Dark Ritual's would help finish this deck and make it at least a legal 60 cards.
