The card drawing power of Waste Not helps find the things I need and coupled with the tutors its easy to get what is needed. Plus the zombies created by it and then you have the rack, specters, mutavaults, nyxathid, caress and other things to kill your opponent. Granted it id a standered discard deck with waste not added in, but honestly why would you not toss that card in?

Extirpate is in the sideboard and usually proves more useful since it cannot be countered.
Ah, right. I should have more thoroughly. Been forever since I've even glanced at my playset of it. Fair enough.
Holy crap... Wheel of Fortune and Waste Not. That'd be hilarious.
Never give up on Discard. It's so much fun.
SWN hit the nail on the head.
Pay two mana to discard is bad. Two mana to discard a card at random... good (borderline great). Channel was ousted more for the fact that with Fireball it was a nasty combo and not to use with Mind Twist. Ill Gotten gains is by far nothing in comparison considering they get cards back and like you agreed with me already... I don't want them to have a hand. And talk about slow... IGG is 5 mana...
I don't really want them to have a hand at all. No hand means no spells.
Mind Twist is too slow?!?! That must be why they've banned it in every format except vintage... where it is restricted too btw.If you have a Mind Twist and at least one Dark Ritual in your first hand, you've just started out fantastic.Plus the cards are discarded at random.
I haven't put a ton of energy or thought into the card honestly. I'm so busy with work (since it is tourist season in Alaska) that I've had little energy to do much else on my days off. Still, M15 is the first core set I've been excited about since M10. And the first set I've looked forward to since the entire Zendikar block.
Mind Shatter was a valiant attempt at recreating Mind Twist, but it's amazing how much that one extra mana makes it less effective.Waste Not is hands down my favorite card coming out in M15, but my inner Timmy really like Soul of New Phyrexia and Ob Nixilis, Unshackled.
I believe it is a Nine... Day... Fall... hahahahaha!
The only time I find green actually enjoyable myself, is to play it when it is a token based deck. Otherwise, I find the color pretty boring. Red is my least favor color to run mono though. Most of reds lower casting cost creatures are wimpy and the bigger stuff cost a boat load of mana. The instants and sorceries are alright, but I'd rather splash them into a black deck.
Thanks. I honestly didn't put a ton of thought into the deck and I've sadly yet to even test it. You're probably right about the 24 land, I tried to keep everything at CMC 3 besides the Unraveler. I believe 4 sign in blood over 3 with this deck would perform quite nicely. Perhaps an additional Messenger for added annoyance. Not sure what else to add or subtract really.
Mono green is the first deck I ever used in Magic. It has to be the easiest to learn with and any time I see a mono green deck it brings back fond memories. Unfortunately, Force of Nature has not aged well and rarely see's the light of day anymore. I like this build though. Looks very ferocious and fast paced.
"And when the world burns walk with me my dear so that we may burn together" what is that from?
Fair enough, I've just never found them useful enough for my play style and never really got the hype behind them. I do with Dark Confidant more so than Bitterblossom, but who doesn't love card advantage? Parting ways with them was hard though since I see myself as a black mana caster at heart, but more recently I've developed a fondness towards blue/black more. Besides, selling Bob and Bitterblossom helped get me more recording gear for my studio. I just picked up a Shure PG42, PS6, SRH440, and Rich got his Line-6 HD500X. I also managed to get a KAT KT2 drum set for tracking because it is substantially easier to track with an electronic kit.The combo set up was used along with Dark Depth's and Vampire Hexmage, it was basically chump blockers until you released Merit Lage.As far a dead card versus them having a card in hand... with this deck I thought with the amount of discard you have in it that it would make them go through their deck quickly and be forced to watch it disappear from their finger tips.
I've personally never been a big fan of Bitterblossom (or Dark Confidant for that matter) and I guess that's why I sold off my playsets of them. The Sword of the Meek combo with Thopter Foundry and Bitterblossom was the only main use I saw for Bitterblossom, still do I suppose. Dark Confidant is pretty good, but I always prefered Howling Mine over him... especially if I'm running any discard spells. So, for me, I'd drop the Blossom's and add vapors. And I'd add Geth's Verdict in the sideboard over Smother.
Not sure what "Gate" is, but if it is anything like my old black sacrifice deck (which it kinda looks like) then I cannot speak highly enough about Consuming Vapors. I helps remove one of their creatures one turn then sac AP the next if needed. Plus, life gain is always nice when Dark Confidant is around.
Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas is by far my favorite planeswalker. I ran an affinity deck with him in Legacy back when he came out and the only deck I lost to was a Goblin Legacy deck. I went 1-2 against it. It was basically luck of the draw in those games and my best weapon in the deck against it was Sword of Fire and Ice, but Goblins run just as fast in Legacy and unfortunately he beat me. Damn the luck.
