That is assuming you are playing a constructed format^

Shit thats dumb, oh well still worth it to have the card in the deck for lifegain/combo purposes.

My modern deck came out to around 880$, I traded in old card of mine/standard cards for 600+ dollars so i only spent like 200$ on the deck(not counting the cards i owned already.
I plan on building this one, i just need the fetches and I'm good to go. That being said I have been playing it on Cockatrice with good results(though people on there are bad mostly:P)

See I have trouble limiting myself to a budget, it normally starts like " i only want to spend this mouch" then 500$ later my EDH deck is complete haha

I really enjoy formats, but I am getting tired of standard. This has made me lean more towards modern, I am new to the format and haven't done worse than 3-1 so far(only went to 3 modern game days playing my Mono-B 8-Rack deck)
The most casual I get is Commander where i have like 8 different completed decks:P (not counting the manabase as fuck that not buying 200$+ duals:P)

and np haha its just a free card and feeds your gameplan.

I was mainly speaking from a competitive modern point of view:P
Though there is this guy at my LGS that runs a G/B modern legal version of the deck you posted, its not exactly dredgevine as it runs ghoultrees etc.

Did you ever think of running street wraith? You don't ever need to cast it, it just is a free creature in the GY and replaces itself:P

I know this, my few reasons that I don't run abrupt decay are:
My worst match ups are R/g tron and Hyper aggro decks(Affinity).
I have enough removal, and as a top deck vs my bad match ups its basically a dead card. I considered running it in the board over golgari charm, but charm works vs affinity and also gets rid of those pesky leylines.
The only slow I could see adding it in would be smallpox or darkblast.
Smallpox has an amazing interaction between Loam and Waste not
Darkblast with the banning on DRS has gone up in value as x/1 toughness mana dorks in a thing again(not to mention the countless other targets it holds in modern and the dredge is relevant in this deck).

I have another Rock-Loam deck that does run Decay, I just can't find a way to include it to this deck without losing value at other angles.

You said above you may replace black market, you really don't have anything to pair black market with. Also they're both 4 drops so the curve doesn't change.

Black market is only good if you run a few x spells/draw a lot of cards/Mana sinks.

^?
Pack rat has proven itself to be a stand out card in standard(even modern).
Pack rat gets out of hand really fast, if you don't deal with it after 1 turn your only hope is to have a sweeper.
Pack rat is the reason "Deadguy Ale" is now a successful modern deck.
Pack rat doesn't need other rats to be a worth while card, it creates other rats.

What if they don't play creatures?

Yep those seem like perfect subs for what you took out:P

But really mental misstep would be played in almost every deck in modern:P even better with snapcaster.

I know, and all my "combo" decks can win without the combos, they just win faster with them.

:P yeah conspiracy cards are only legacy legal, and mistep got banned because its too strong in a format ruled by 1 drops.

Honestly, I like michaelkoon's version better. Mostly because Reaver is such an overcosted card and in a terrible spot in standard right now. It does nothing when it hits the field, then it is out classed by a lot of 4 drops. D-Demon is actually better for the deck because it lets you take advantage of the discard you have done, you can strip their threats/removal slam a demon and with no way to remove it they either just die to demon, or they have to sac a creature every turn.

I feel the deck should run Master of the feast or Affliction, not both.

Feast allows you to keep your discard live in the long game, but affliction punishes them once you've stripped their hand. If you have an Affliction out they have to choose between playing spells and risk taking damage from Affliction, or holding spells so they don't take damage from Affliction which lets you do whatever you want.
Obviously Affliction can be a dead card if you don't draw enough discard, but i still feel that Reaver is just Awful and I would much rather splash another colour like red for rakdos return or blue for whispering madness before I would ever consider playing reaver over D-Demon.

^Not true, I have 3 decks(kruphix, Nekusar and Animar) that have little problems going infinite with counter back up(mostly because dreamhalls>omniscience>enter the infinite) but if you run counter magic and tutors its really not hard to go infinite, it really depends on which combo you go for as some are more obvious that other. Most people won't counter a Temple Bell, but when you land a Mind over Matter they tend to regret it in a Nekusar deck.
That being said I do have non-combo/Fair EDH decks.

Also because it is a graveyard combo its not as fragile when faced with a thoughtsieze/IoK(unless Ordeal gets hit)
