Its to have lands to grab for cards like Path to Exile.

They are a creature subtype that buff each other.
Yeah I haven't looked too deeply to see if there are standard DM shenanigans as I mostly focus on Modern. Looks like Ally's got a big boost though!
It is, just not as good as Oracle of Mul Daya in my opinion.
Changed the land base just slightly with this deck - dropped the 2 birds of paradise and a cathedral of war to add 1 of each basic land.
Nice deck Gothy. I guess my question is are you consistently able to get enough cards into your graveyard to make your delve cards castable? I think I would drop the Hooting Mandrils for another Thoughtseize and a Death's Shadow for another land (possibly), but other than that this deck looks pretty solid. +1 like.
Crystalline Sliver is an awesome card, but it's not Modern legal.
Okay, I've made some further changes to this deck and I'm liking them. This deck now falls somewhere in-between an aggro deck and a midrange deck, though I think it comes closer to being an aggro deck. Changes made..Dropped 2 Call to the Kindred and 2 Seaside Citadel, added 4 Collected CompanyDropped 4 Path to Exile (now in sideboard), added 4 Aether VialDropped 4 Gemhide Sliver, added 4 Sinew SliverDropped 4 Might Sliver, added 4 Predatory SliverLet me know if you guys like these changes. The deck seems to perform better now from the play-testing I've done.
Also, I feel like obelisk and door are unnecessary considering this deck (now) has 4 megantic slivers and 4 might slivers.
I just changed it up a bit now I only have Path to Exile as an instant. :P I feel like it's a good card in this deck to clear the way for the slivers to attack or remove some nasty beastie.
Seems like aggro slivers is more popular in the top 8 than a midrange approach like this one.
Did some more playtesting, was having some difficulty getting the mana production I needed so.. Dropped the 4 Cyclonic Rift for 4 Gemhide Sliver and dropped 2 Chromatic Lantern for 2 Call to the Kindred.
Already have Manaweft, I feel that more than 4 of a mana production sliver is overdoing it.
Okay made some changes to this deck.. Dropped Lightning Bolt for Atarka's Command. Dropped Sarkhan Vol and Rites of Flourishing for 4 Farseek.
Alright, made some changes to this deck. Dropped Silence, Remand, and Mana Bloom.. increased Galerider Sliver to 4 and added 4 Might Sliver.
I was thinking about that card but decided against it in favor of Descendants' Path. It would be great in this deck but I don't think it is as good as Descendants' Path since it needs to be enchanted onto a creature. I couldn't think of any other place to put it either as I can't afford any less Slivers, the mana ramp I have outside of Manaweft is important for this deck, and the instants I have are important to maintain board presence and remove unwanted threats.
Chromatic Lantern neutralizes Blood Moon. You're right though, if I don't pull it it can get nasty for my deck. I also have some enchantment hate in the sideboard though to swap in if I find I'm playing a deck that uses it, or other evil enchantments for that matter :P
You're on the right track with a storm deck, but..For storm you need 16-18 lands. I'd say drop the Weirds and Mantles and go with your 4 fetches, 4 vents, 2 shivan reefs, 4 islands, 2 mountains. (16 lands, 2 cards free)You also want 4 Pyromancers' Ascension since this lets you double cast if it has 2 or more quest counters - not hard in storm. Drop Cerulean Wisps for those.Goblin Electromancers is also important so use those 2 spots you opened then drop your Quicken cards. (2 spots open)Drop Visions of Beyond and Peek for Pyretic Ritual and Desperate Ritual. This gives you more mana to keep your casting going. Then drop Grapeshot down 1 and add 3 Past in Flames (lets you keep your casting going)Basing this info off a bit of research I did from top 8 decks UR storm to help you out. Making those changes should make your storm deck much better off.
Glad you guys like it! I don't want to splash further red and black because this deck is built as Bant splashing for Legion and Hivelord, which aren't hard to get out with my mana base; just don't want to over do it. As to predatory/sinew, they are awesome (especially for aggro slivers, which seems popular) but Megantic is better for this deck since its built for midrange and can potentially enter the battlefield without having to pay with path. I'll have to play test more to see if 2 Megantic 4 galerider (or 2, 2 and a different sliver) would be better but from what I've seen getting one out hasn't been a problem at 2.
Thanks North, glad you like it! :D
