I think you're missing the point of painter servant.... It's a mill insta-win when paired with a grindstone. You name a color with servant and mill their deck with grindstone activating once.

this is a tricky subject, actually. and im going to complicate it further lol. when a CARD says something that disputes the rulebook, the CARD wins. every time. that being said, Ash is exactly right. Icy Manipulator no longer reads "(1): you may tap or untap target land, creature or artifact on either side" Icy Manipulator has an Errata which makes you tap it for each instance, or use, so the most recent printing of the card is the one with the only text the card carries. same thing happened with Nevinryll's Disk and a number of other older cards.

Elixer of Immortality would probably play better with the deck...

might want to add Mirror Gallery, since you have so many legendary creatures, and youll likely be drawing multiples.

seriously though...Tribute to Hunger. its even got Vamp flavor text. so much better than Murder lol

take out the 2 incursion specalists and a talrand and add 3 curiousity. goes good with unblockables.

I agree with your disagreement. also, 4 Talrand is a bit much. hes legendary, so maybe 3.

less than $10..nice you should run Riot Control instead of Whitesuns Passage. then wrap it up and call it Pauper. it could be a good deck in that format.

Mana base looks like it might give you trouble with 4 6 drops in there and 2 9 drop flashbacks. i would recommend 24 lands.

what you can do is just add Azure Mage, because she is a mana dump for when you have nothing to do at the end of an opponents turn, and Niv is just an amazing card and should be in every EDH deck his colors allow. Curiosity is another option for card draw.
As for dual lands, there are quite a few in the colors. you can add Forgotten Cave and Lonely sandbar as well, theyre single colored, but if you draw them late game, they allow you to cycle for a different card. and theyre both commons.
just do a google search for "red/blue dual lands" you might be surprised how cheap some of them are.

Hover Barrier is not "immune" to the damage, and if you have bracers equipped, you have to choose a seperate target (it could end up being the same one, but the bracers copy the ability, not the result)

seems like an interesting idea, though. I would think about adding Boros Reckoner to have another chance at controlling where that damage goes, though.

mana base will sink you. try adding some dual lands, and card draw will be huge in a deck that lets you burn through your hand. you might want to think about adding Niv Mizzet, The Firemind and Azure Mage for card draw.

I didnt offer advice because the deck did not need it. it was a solidly built casual control deck. could there be improvements? yes, as with ANY deck, but in form and function for what he wanted it to do, it was well put together. Maybe there was a misunderstanding, as its tough to judge inflection on a text based forum. If you intend to say something, say it. That will prevent problems. I assure you that your opinion of me means very little, some would call it nothing, but to pretend you know anything about me based on two or three posts is ignorant.

Deck Advice: I like Ponder instead of Think Twice. Wall of deinal is nice, Wall of Omens is also pretty good.

since this isnt YOUR deck, I dont know where you get off telling me to play my own. you asked a stupid question, got an answer. if you didnt like it, its not my problem. the deck is built as CONTROL. he does not need a bunch of little shitty creatures cluttering his deck so that when he needs to draw a Cyclonic Rift or an Aetherize, he draws a Delver and loses. Control wins by not losing, not be turning things sideways. having 2 Aetherling in the deck is more than enoug to win, in a proper control deck.

If he wanted an aggro deck, it would be titled "budget Azorius Aggro" not "Budget Azorius Control"

exactly right. apocolypse is proabably the second worst white boardwipe you could use with Tajic as a commander....Terminus being worse.

pretty sure that all of the cards needed for the combo are restricted or worse in all formats lol

Mirror gallery is a wasted slot. you dont NEED more than one on the board.
