Thanks crackerjack. I agree with you - I do like to have decks smaller than this one. I have found that this deck can work well both in this format (i.e. almost 80 cards) or in a format where the card count is in the mid-60s (dropping out some artifacts and spells).

Have you thought of trading a few of the Vampire Bats for a different low level Vamp? Maybe pull 2 Bats and add 2 Vampire Nighthawk? Not much more for casting cost than Bats and it gives Lifelink and Deathtouch in addition to Flying. Plus Vampire Bats are somewhat limited since you can only boost them twice per turn.

But that's just my personal bias... bottom line is this is a great deck as-is.

I agree with Rainman... a few too many lands. I probably would reduce the total number of Spells while adding 2x Feast of Blood and 2x Blood Tribute and also add a fewer lower level Vamps like Vampire Nighthawk that you could get out with less mana but are still useful (Flying, Lifelink, Deathtouch).
