Adding the Bloodghasts is a good idea. Even if you don't get them I would suggesting replacing the Lacerators with Child of Night - I have found in tourneys Child of Night is way more useful than Lacerator, and if Nocturnus is out Child of Night becomes a 4/2 Flying Lifelink.

It looks like your win condition is attacking with creatures, so I like your idea of adding Blood Tribute (to help get your opponent's life lower), but I don't know if you need to main board Mind Sludge.

From experience, I would also knock Duress in your main board down to 2, take out the 2 feasts of blood and add your 4 Doom Blades to your main.

Also, you can only have 15 cards in a standard sideboard, right now you have 19...

There are also some combos you can run as an addition or back-up win condition. You can check out my Vamp deck to get ideas on other things you like or don't like:

ninjadog39 and Lemonzest.... you guys a friggin kidding, right? Do you not realize that this literally is the Vampire Intro deck for Zendikar, which is called "Rise of the Vampires"? So yes, of course it's a crappy deck and no, Lemon, it is not "a lie". And he/she didn't "use the site for advertising", this post is just a repost of the Intro Deck Wizards put out.

Check it out for yourselves:

Way to be aware of what is going on around you... lol

But -1 for the post cuz it's annoying and useless

Agreed with DedWards, a back up win condition would be good, especially because your current win condition is nullified as long as your opponent has as much life as you or even 1 more life.

Maybe I can add Sage Owl as a blocker? 2 casting cost, 1/1 Flying as a blocking chump that allows me to re-arrange the top 4 cards of my library.... might be helpful.... Thoughts?

I think you mean "Doom Blade"? I agree. Doom Blade can actually be expensive $$-wise, that's the only reason I didn't add it in here. I was trying to make this deck as cheap and basic as possible. But you are right, 24 lands is a bit much for this deck....

Thanks for the input guys, I do appreciate it.

Zeus, I originally had Twincast at 4 and then dropped it to 2... I am trying to remember why I did that, but since I can't seem to come up with a reason I will bump it back to 4. Swerve is always an option and I think I might start with it Sideboarded (traded for Twitch). I def. agree about adding creatures... Any opinion on what to add? I was thinking quick-drop small flying chump blockers. Any opinion on that would be greatly appreciated.

kaim, I think that I would hold of on Scalding Tarns until I played this deck out multiple times to see how my lands came out, but that's def a good point. I don't think I would use tome scour unless I added more total cards to the deck... I would be afraid it would hurt more than help.

Agreed with Billy and Roughneck - MTG is supposed to be FUN. People don't just post decks here that will win Grand Prix etc etc. They post decks they like, that they have made themselves, often with just the cards they have.

For this deck, I agree with other posters - you are close to standard, so why not make it standard? Take out Beseech and Corrupt and put in some others. You could possibly try running the Blood Tribute/Sanguine Bond combo since you are running a Vamp deck. Also, from personal experience (I also run a vamp deck), I would pull out Kalitas (too much to cast, isn't worth it), and add 2 more Hexmages in his place. I also used to run Vamp Aristocrat and Blades of the Bloodchief but found that they were not as effective as I thought they would be. I traded Blades for more Sanguine Bonds and Aristocrat for more "cheap" vamps (Guul Draz, Lacerator) that were quick and easy to drop for use in the Sanguine Bond/Blood Tribute combo. If you can fit Gatekeeper of Malakir in there, I would do it. His kicker is cheap and totally worth it against most decks. Running 4 Bloodghasts and 4 Notcturnuses is a strong play. I wish I had 4 of each, myself.

PS - Here is my Vamp/Combo deck if you wanted to take a look:

I like the idea. I don't play these types of decks myself, but I came up against one last weekend - specifically Emeria Angel making TONS of bird tokens that swamped me out. My opponent kept dropping fetch lands (makes a bird token) then sac'ing it to find another land to drop (another bird token). By the end of the game my opponent had 10 bird tokens from ONE Emeria Angel. So maybe add some fetch lands to this deck? Just a thought based on the decks I have played against.

Well I would add Ball Lightning after the first game, but yeah, this deck would be screwed. Remind me to avoid tourneys that you go to...
