Thanks G or the suggestion!

I replaced force spike with it, so now this is legal in modern.

Good point on the mill combo. Chancellor of the spires is not necessary for the perfect hand. I also think that all cards of CMC 5 or greater other than archive trap are replaceable with counter magic - doing so would really keep your game going.

I have to stand by my man Lasav. He is almost worth his price based on his hexproof and nice body alone. His sbility makes him completely crazy. Not only can he copy milled creatures, but destroyed or discarded spells as well. AND he retains hexproof. Also, his ability works even for enemies that cannot stay in a graveyard like emkraul. If you stole one of those ...

Great suggestions man! You deserve a mythic rare in your next pack of cards.

Pleasure to see you here. I am happy to hear that yet another Magic player is about to discover the game more deeply. That's music to my ears.

While you have plenty of money to blow on cards, a word of caution: the really expensive cards are usually either overrated or boring to play with because they are so powerful. There are many exceptions to this rule, but as you are not completely up to date, avoid them without knowing exactly what you are buying, and plan to use it in many decks. For example, dual lands are a pretty good investment.

I think that this is a good choice for a dragon player - in fact, any sort of burn is good. Gruul decks are another solid creature-based deck type that is pretty simple to play. NorthernWarlord has some great duel decks if you want to play with your wife. I particularly like Rivaling Allies.

I wish you happy deck building!

Okay I got it .... Timber protector in the sideboard for defense against blue and red decks focused on attacking your land base.

So true. Deadly recluse is pretty devilish too.

But it doesn't have hexproof =). That's the main selling point of this deck - your opponent can't target any of your creatures, not even your ramp!

Roflmao! I will remember this description:

"You have one Banisher Priest and that's more of a band aid than anything." - Teal Fox.

Seriously though, Path to Exile and Mirror Entity are the only 2 cards you have that aren't legal in extended. Just replace them, and you are golden for extended play!

That's perfectly valid. Why would anyone ever use my namesake, Knight of the Hokey Pokey, if that wasn't so?

Oh well ... at least they bothered to make it work for phones =).

I'm not an optimist or a pessimist. I'm a realist, i.e. Captain Obvious. The glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
