Agreed, protection is as underrated as lifegain I'm afraid.

I just finished making a killer burn deck, so I have a tendency to overcompensate. Spellskite is probably completely redundant here. However, it can stop spells from connecting with your face, whuch protection can't do.

Well, I can answer that. For a land to be a valid target for spreading algae, it has to have a swamp type, but not necessarily the name swamp.

Interesting note: a creature token's name is the same as the types it came into play as unless otherwise specified.

Changing the color of mana a land produces does not change what type it is. The cards must specifically change the type (by saying something along the lines of "target land(s) is now a swamp").

Another interesting note is that all lands are colorless (unless they become a creature), so changing a land's type does not change what color it is.

Hope this helps!

Wait, I didn't mean blistercoil, I meant nivmagus elemental.

I prefer nivix cyclops to izzet staticaster, but that's a personal taste.

Man, a single well placed burn, counter, or removal spell could shut this deck down. You really should consider spellkite.

Man, turning shield spires and orthinopters into squadron hawks is such a great plan I am going to make a deck around it.

Hmm... I think that the hammer would be ridiculous with kiln fiend, nivmagus elemental, and nivix cyclops ...

It does not combo very well with young pyromancer and guttersnipe. I think I will use magma jet here. Hammer would do really well in a deck that features kiln fiend and nivix cyclops.

Agreed. Magma Jet is in.

Which is better: Lightning Storm, or Magma Jet?

Nonsense, read the description. Searing blaze and Blazing Salvo make this deck a beast in casual play.

But you haven't seen the deck that works with this one yet *evil laugh*

I third this motion.

Funny thought .... In 2 vs 2, this deck + Dimir mill running Lasav & Dimir Doppelganger = oh hell no. Let's see ... a Hexproof Emkraul on turn 5 or 6 .... oh hell no.

The best part? Emkraul makes this deck immune to mill. Add in 2 or 3 elixirs of Immortality, and you have yourself one helluva team.

Kazzong (and company) I could use some help buffing a deck of mine to an even better polish. Please take a look - comments, questions, and concerns all accepted and asked for!

I made a deck like this a while back, and have some suggestions.

Avatar of Woe - with all the destroy spells flying around, it won't be long before you can summon it for 2 B
Gruul Draz Vampire - Super pumped vampire!
Thornbite Staff + Vampire Nighthawk or any other Shaman.
Kill-Suit Cultist - cheap chump blocker that can effectively grant deathtouch when sacrificed.

I would trade the thunderous wraths for removal (esp. of artifacts and enchantments).

-tature replaces -k to make it PG rated.

Seriously though, I found out that Rihanna's music videos are PG rated. WTF! Not even PG 13? How could that be okay to show 8 or 9 year olds?

Sorry about that ... darn phone graphics.

I meant Sylvan Ranger.

And I apologize for insinuating your hatred of gays based on no extant evidence. I responded to a more extreme version of a statement of your opinion rather than what you actually said, committing the logical fallacy commonly known as the "straw man" argument.

In plain english: sorry for saying that you hated gays. It was a poor word choice on my part. I should have said "it is no surprise that elves are sometimes associated with being gay. Look at those girls! Who would be brave enough to ask a Slyvan Ranger out on a date? James Bond? "

No, I do not want to be a lawyer, only an engineer.
