why do 3 damage for 1 when i can use a fling to do 6? thats the whole point lol.i LOVE lightning bolt. this was a challenge to myself to make a red direct damage deck without lightning bolt. the lightning is a reference to ball lightning :D

UPDATE: after playing for a while ive noticed 2 things.1 i often need just a little bit more mana (either to cast something or to activate enough firebreathing to kill stuff) 2 it was very very rare that i would ever get out the utvara hellkite or the kilnmouth dragon. while the kilnmouth was a little cheaper to cast i felt that the hellkite fit the theme of the deck better so im testing out replacing the 2 kilmouths with 2 more mountains and am hoping for the best
Just get rid if 2 land you don't really need 24
you forgot a very powerfull color...... colorless. there are some bad ass mother fuckers that are artifact walls.here my take on a defender deck that runs green as wellhttp://www.mtgvault.com/endgamer31/decks/defender/perimeter captaincolossus of akrosguardian of the ages.all of the above would be super helpful to your deck
i am actually retracting the above for a week or too.... i had been playing with 5 extra land and missing all of my perimeter captains.... and somehow didnt notice lol . when those cards arrive i will play a few games and let you know how the mana worked out
http://www.mtgvault.com/card/creakwood-liege/EVE/could be a non upkeep needing breeding pit that pumps your creatures.
i agree with the above. its pretty clear that this is a deck you actually own and thus there are far to many 1 or 2 ofs. so the name of the game here is going to be focus. ( i am assuming that you are trying to keep this modern and thus my comments will reflect this. if not then there are a few other changes that could be made)first of lets figure out your none goblin cards as the goblins will be easier to fill in.OUT: boggart shenanigans ( too much mana for not enough gain)goblin war paint ( if created correctly your goblins wont need the buff)quest for the goblin lord (same reason as above)artilierize ( you are better off going with massive raid)50/50 on goblin assault. it can be very good but it can also force your goblins to attack into a much bigger and badder army when they could be used as "counters" for massive raid, krenko and horde of boggarts)IN:dragon foddermassive raidthen take what remains and go to 4x or 2x each.so this leaves you with a none creature side of you deck that looks something like this:4x goblin grenade4x massive raid4x krenko's command4x dragon fodder2x goblin assault2x relentless assaultwhich gets you 20 cards. now lets assume that 18 mana is good that gives you 22 slots for creatures. there are a few things that you NEED and the rest can get filled in. as such im only going to be suggesting INs and you can figure out the rest IN:4x raging goblin (the name of the game is having a 1st turn 1/1 that has haste. having 8 is a good thing)4x legion loyalist4x Krenkos4x Goblin chieftainswhich is 16 creatures leaving you 6 slots left to fill. i would do either 2x three creatures or 3x two creatures but you want focus! have fun!
coercion to help and added will o wisp to help against flying creatures ( a noted weakness once i started playing the deck) switched out deathgreeter for blood artist since he also does damage!
why? like half of the cards are not standard and it works awesome. i dont play standard lol
consider http://www.mtgvault.com/card/mortician-beetle/ROE/ http://www.mtgvault.com/card/deathgreeter/DDD/ for more goodie when you sacrifice.check out my sacrifice deck ! http://www.mtgvault.com/endgamer31/decks/shadowborn/
Tangle is much better than fog. for only one more mana it locks them down for a extra turn. with the amount of mana you have you should be fine for 2 cmc vs 1 cmc
nice deck. if you want to go out of standard then overgrown battlement is a great addition.check out my modern defenders deck http://www.mtgvault.com/endgamer31/decks/defender/
20 is almost too much.... one or two overgrown battlements or axe bane guardians and you are off. i have regularly have turns where i put out 2-3 creatures and dont tap a single mana. ive hard cast the colossus of akros and monstroused him on the same turn on multiple occasions. i also typically try to play with the least amount of mana possible and unless im playing a deck with a lot of big creatures i can normally get away with about 20
its actually pretty freaking effective. i get the colossus almost every game and i rarely lose creatures until late game ( defenders being much more cost efficient) esspecially with it being so cheap i highly recommend it. LOTS of fun to play to becasue you know how bad its about to be and you know you opponent hasa no idea lol. alos since everything is either 3 or 4 of it is pretty consistant as well
This deck doesn't need that and I'd need to splash a fourth color. This deck works awesomely
woops sorry i had looked at the deck earlier and hadnt gotten the chance to comment and came back later and assumed it hadnt changed lol
lol well it is odd in that it is basically just direct damage spells which can be pretty risky without some other plan (which is why i added in a few defenders). i dont really plan to play with this but i wanted to see what i could do with the restriction and i think that it could be a viable deck ( the only reason i am not actually making it is that im pretty sure most of the people i play with would just not play against it and wheres the fun in that lol) i also wanted to do it since lightning strike added another modern legal 2 cost 3 damage spell
you can pretty safely cut deadly recluse and reverent hunter as they are not adding a huge amountadd in Zhur-Taa Druid for extra ramp and direct damage maybe an the ordeal for red or green from theros?
why wouldnt it?
here is actually a bunch of cards that are really good for a deck like this (beware mixing sporemound and life and limb as they create an infinite loop with no end (unless you find a way to destroy one of them) and then the game would end in a draw)Awakener DruidSakura-Tribe ScoutKamahl, Fist of KrosaMolimo, Maro-SorcererOracle of Mul DayaQuirion DruidSporemoundThelonite DruidBear UmbraGenju of the CedarsGreener PasturesNature's RevoltNature's WillVastwood ZendikonAnimate LandSprout SwarmNature's SpiralVerdant Touchany of the above would be good but I HIGHLY suggest 4x Life and Limb4x Gaea's Touch2-4x Ordeal of Nylea2-4x Budoka Gardener2-4x One with Nature 2x Living Terrain1-2 Liege of the Tangle1-2x Primeval bounty ( I'm not sure but i think that with Life and Limb out that putting out a land would activate both the creature trigger and the land trigger)
