Glad to have you back. We've missed you

So since you mentioned it, I'm going to drop these really quick:Sen Triplets (Democracy)http://www.mtgvault.com/drakeraenes/decks/sen-triplets-edh-v2/Nekusar, the Mindrazer (Communism)http://www.mtgvault.com/drakeraenes/decks/nekusar-the-mindrazer-edh/Queen Marchesa (Monarchy)http://www.mtgvault.com/drakeraenes/decks/queen-marchesa-edh/Aside from the last one, they're all finished and playable. Triplets I own 100%, and Nekusar I will in time. Monarchy is the one I'm having trouble with theme-wise, so I'm offering these up to help. I kinda settled on a "your own little world" kind of bubble setup, so major damage reduction and just hexproof and shroud all over the place. Maybe you'll get some ideas? As for a name, there are plenty of serious and goofy options that come to mind. The best ones I feel are:CamelotMonty PythonHear Ye, Hear YeThe King's GameGame of ThronesThat's all I got for now. Let me know what you think!
NORTHY!!!!!!!!! How's things been?
Making someone waste a kill on servant when there are other more dangerous options on the board is perfectly fine with me, and counter magic isn't all that prevalent in my group since we play pretty casual.
No, it says you MAY put it onto the battlefield. Seriously guys, always check Gatherer for rulings on cards like that. It's a serious godsend (no, not the artifact).
Suggestions for includes and swaps are appreciated, but keep it reasonable. I plan to actually own this and I'm not taking out a loan to buy cards.Sideboard are potential future includes if I find a card underperforming.
Yeah but curse only hurts one person. Furnace of Rath and Dictate of the Twin Gods obviously help everyone, but they help me a lot more. Fire servant and Insult are completely one-sided in my favor, so they're clearly superior here.
Yes, the new rule allows multiple PW out at once, but I'm not using Flamecaller because she didn't really fit the deck to me. As for the X spells, I had a few more in here, but ultimately I will rarely produce enough to use many of them effectively.I've been testing the deck out on Cockatrice and made a few revisions already, and so far the bonus mana has been nice, but I'm doing more damage without the X spells than I did with them. Comet Storm is the obvious exception here because if I can get enough mana for it, it becomes hilariously deadly. That said, the deck suffers from running dry once Neheb does come out, and I've also had a higher number of games than I'd like where I wasn't getting that fifth mana to cast him at all. That's another thing I need to look at fixing.
Dropped Hobgoblin Dragoon and Viashino Firstblade for Sky Terror and Tilonalli's Skinshifter from Ixalan. Sky Terror's evasion is near godlike for a two drop uncommon, and Skinshifter in this deck can get stupid in all the best ways.
Ouch on the sorcery. That can set you back majorly if you aren't careful with it
Yeah I'm glad I have a set already. Hate it when stuff randomly spikes like that
Fathom Mage is an excellent option
Negative, but close. You don't need two mana fixers, only one. You tap pili-pala with a free tap effect to get one mana from one of the three sources (rite, mantle, or favor), then use that mana to untap it with its untap ability using the reduced cost of one courtesy of training grounds. This nets you one floating mana, and an untapped dork. Simply repeat ad infinitum to generate infinite mana of any color(s) you desire.
I actually have two different decks that function similar to what you're trying to do, but one does the extra turns and the other does the multiple combat. The extra turns one uses Sage of Hours and an infinite doubling combo to take all the turns I need to win, and the other is my Iroas EDH that is all about the combat phase. While I'm still tweaking the Turns deck, the EDH is a nasty piece of work already. I've dropped an opponent from around 80 life to dead because I had three combat steps with World at War, entwined Savage Beating, Iroas, and a Gisela all in play, plus a few other rather large creatures. Double Strike, Menace, double damage, and invulnerable creatures three times in a row is hard to live through.I'm looking forward to hearing how this is doing honestly
Except that Medomai can't attack during ANY extra turns. It'll go off once, then after that you can't attack with him again until after your opponent takes a turn. Also, if you're attacking with Rafiq and you have Finest Hour out, your opponent will likely be dead. Assuming you swing on turn four with only the enchantment and Rafiq giving you exalted, and your opponent has no blocker, you're going to be doing 20 damage. That's bare minimum. Add on a few of the Noble Hierarch, and it's just even more lethal. Now factor in that maybe you cast an Ardent Plea on two and hit another creature with exalted. Assuming you only used two Noble, one Plea, we'll say a Knight of Glory, Rafiq, and then Finest Hour, by turn four you'll have done in the neighborhood of 46 damage. Honestly, you don't need Medomai. I'd replace him with something like Serum Visions so you can dig for your key cards.
You'd be better of doing a simic theme over a white weenie deck if you wanted to focus on counters. That being said though, a fun thing to with walker is to put in a copy of Cathar's Crusade, because since all the thopters enter at the same time, they all see each other in the eyes of the ETB trigger on crusade, so if you say created fifty thopters when walker died, all fifty would get fifty counters on them. This would make them insanely huge in a short amount of time. I use a combo like that in my Iroas EDH with Cathar's Crusade and Assemble the Legion, and a friend of mine uses it with Marath to make an insane amount of tokens that are ridiculously beefy. And then you can use Gilder to just buff them more if you wanted. This combo is so versatile its scary.
I've also been toying with a new build myself. But every time a new deck gets shared here it makes me question what I'm doing with my own. It's wonderfully infuriating lol
In the argument of walker vs ballista, it depends entirely on how you take advantage of them. With both you can make a single massive creature, but it's their abilities that will depend on the rest of the deck. Do you have something that triggers off all those thopters coming in when walker dies? Or are you just going for straight damage with ballista?
I like them both. I'm a bit more intrigued with the possibilities in the second one
Yeah it didn't work like that. Have to actually cast something as equipping is an ability, not a spell.
