Very much so...not sold on syncopate x4 either, but that is a matter of taste more than anything really.

Needs Elixir of immortality and a 25th land IMO. I'd ditch the two gods for those cards. Id also cut the archangels for another copy of each planeswalker.
Just that vulnerability to lightning strike makes me leery
The only problem I see with Kiora is the low loyalty total...that 2 is very distasteful. Even worse at cc4
Well...Let me just tell you about my opponents. (5 rounds of swiss, then top 4 to top 2 for prizes)Round #1: Seleysnia Aggro 2-0Round#2: Mono Red Devotion 2-0Round #3: Mono Blue Devotion 2-0Round #4: Mono Black Devotion 2-0Round #5: Orzhov Aggro 2-0Semi Finals: U/W Control 2-0Finals: Mono Black Devotion 2-0Of the crowd, most were blue or black devotion with a few U/W or Esper control and then some less popular builds (this portion was actually most of the field but there was no real consistancy to what was being played other than what I mentioned.) as well. My build is really similar to the Mono Black deck, but the ability to deal with blood barons more efficiently and being able to kill their specters pre board really did the trick. To be fair, the field was a little thin due to the holidays but I think it will hold up in a regular size event too.
Lots of blue and black devotion, a few esper/Uw Control, and some less conventional stuff.
Good Call. Saw this just before the tournament and made the change...so worth it.
Successful first tournament. Undefeated 5-0!The above (now somewhat changed list) is what I played.
Btw...tried my build at tournament tonight...kinda went undefeated...so I think we may be on to something.
I like the build a lot...but maybe you should try to up the count of seers for consistency. Something else that I like (but dont have enough thassas for) is Seer + Thassa. The scry trigger is always good to filter out potentially hefty blows from the seer's effect.
Yeah...aetherize is kinda my poor mans out right now. Gotta track down another pair of the downfalls. Thanks for the encouragement! I have found that the life gain in the deck does help to keep up with the seer's effect and I also have been toying with trying to fit in some more scry effects as well.
heh...yeah it can be pricey
Glimpse the Unthinkable + Twin Cast = 20 milled cards for 4 mana
Id toss out gods willing for more land...maybe 2 more shrines and something like elspeth to take advantage.
It is a lot of fun! Actually, the opportunity mainboard is what gives me the omph to compete with other control decks (which is the majority of my meta).
What do you think should come out of the sideboard. I am reluctant to lose the doomblades because of Stormbreath.
Hmmm....hadn't really given smite any consideration. I'll try it though. I really like the paladins, but I will try the banisher priests for sure. Those things are pretty darn powerful. Mostly I am worried about losing the spped I am getting with the current set up.
Brave is soooo good. It is a game winner! I run it in my B/W Devotion deck.
