Yeah its an old thing that doesn't get talked about as it was only really around in 7th edition.I think there was a recent commander card that had it but I may be wrong.

This... at least play 4x razorverge thicketI mean he is obviously willing to dish out the money for daybreak, why not a bit more to fix his mana issues...Also, spirit link is a better sideboard card, better off with hyena umbra in that slot.Besides that not a bad deck, boggles is always annoying.
I was that guy who played infect back in standard so I fully support this idea haha.(still have 4x glistner elf promos and 4x inkmoth:P)
Probably want to up that land count to at least 21...I know its a devotion deck but you can't just rely on nykthos in modern(even more so post board)Also go down to 2 dakmors, remove the fetch lands...(seriously the 1 life is much more important than the .03 chance of hitting more "gas" because you "thinned" your deck... plus you're already spending life on sign in bloods.)Run thoughtsieze and IoK over duress and despise. There is no reason to be running skittles in this deck, he just increases the curve for no viable reason.(I know you're just running him for the chance of shooting a ton of mana into him and one shotting people, its just too big of a gimmick.)The 4th Gary would be WAYYY better.I could keep going but I just want to help.
It's a term used to describe creatures with the rules text of "You may have Thorn Elemental assign its combat damage as though it weren't blocked."Thorn Elemental is the most known one with this ability.Basically you can choose to deal the damage to the blocking creature or who/whatever(planeswalker) you're attacking instead. The blocker still damages you, you just don't damage it if you choose to hit the player.
It's basically just super trample lol
No problem
The thing about control is it's the hardest decks to play properly. You basically need to understand every single deck in the format and exactly how they will try to beat you.You weakest match will always be straight aggro, but if you can stabilize you can generally run their gas out.I would honestly leave this as is until you have a better knowledge of the field once your games are over walk around and watch and see what everyone else is playing, generally FNM is pretty chill and most players are cool with teaching or helping new people.once you know you meta a bit more I may be able to give you a few more pointers until then hard to say.
Well is it more for kitchen table or like a cheap deck you plan on playing in standard?Control strongly depends on your meta game, you generally want to mold it to the decks you will see the most often. What is your friend playing?
Probably not the worst idea getting down to 60.If possible you would also want to get your lands up to 25/26A big part of control is hitting a land almost every turn.
I love the deck for the most part. You're honestly still short on card draw effects.4x jace would be the best way to go but that's not easy on the pocket.(as you are a budget deck)Anticipate would be your best bet on a budget.I would lower the number of horribly awry as it only hits creatures, the extra draw/filter will make up for the lack of counters and keep your gas going.
sword to the plowshares also seems great.
Nature's Claim could be pretty god in the sideboard.
If you find the wording on old cards confusing just look them up on gatherer. They normally have the text 'modernized' also rules text for confusing bits.
They're just really effective.I kinda wish hey had can't be countered text to go with that pro blue
http://www.mtgvault.com/viagrasaurusrex/decks/1153374/This was the list I threw together.some of our bad matchups are aggro like infect, affinity and a few other decks.Ghost quarters plus crucible of worlds really helps deal with blinkmoth and inkmoth while also helping in the mirror and vs tron. Can't wait for the new drown in sorrow with the exile effect :D
You also get things like scooze and stirrings which not only make your set up faster and more stable, but help you against some of the aggro decks that are your weakness.I have been a huge fan of this deck since the first showing, I love different and unique decks. This deck is only getting better with the launch of the next set.but now you can make more aggressive builds etc.
I feel 3 colours is too hard on the mana base, even more so after the next set drops.Best going Bw,or Bg are the only real ways to go.Bu may also work... just don't feel it is as strong
I feel like I am missing the point of the blue splash...You have nothing besides sideboard cards...You mana will just tax your life total more than it needs to.seem better off just going two colours...
No problem, was just trying to point out the lack of power in the card, ancient stirrings could even be good in its place as you have all the lands, maps and other artifacts.
