I will check out the deck, sure.

Please check this one out!
Looks gruesome.
Thank you.
Why don't you all just go to my new Spreading Algae deck and like it, and see if that gets it on the hot decks list! :)
I have heard, to get a hot deck...a deck has to be in the new decks and then receive 4 likes. But honestly not sure. I simply like decks that I recognize, think is solid, or like the idea of. Pox decks seem fun.
There, 1st change over. Will test it, and go from there. Still needs draw and bounce power. But need to see what I need to take out.
No way!!! Storm Crow is pure, raw power!
Yeah, you are probably right. Need to do some serious work to this deck.
Question: Pygmy Hippo: says, "Whenever Pygmy Hippo attacks and isn't blocked, you may have defending player activate a mana ability of each land he or she controls and empty his or her mana pool."Is that a fancy way of saying tap all of his lands? Or as you said it, "tap out." I see where some of the cards you suggested are great. Especially with Opposition. I knew only having 7 creatures weakened a great card like Opposition. Plus...didn't even thing about the opponent simply not playing lands. I never play tournaments, so time is not a problem. Icy Manipulator...that card isn't what it use to be, but is still an amazing card. Here is the trouble I am having with it. Even Opposition, on Turn 4, you can use it (if you have untapped creatures). With Icy Manipulator, on Turn 4, you get just one Artifact on the board. That is it. Nothing else. And next turn your opponent just plays Smelt or something...and your entire 4th turn was wasted. On my 4th turn, ideally, I want to be nuking at least one of their lands...maybe even two if the cards go right. Which brings me to a rant...when I first started designing the deck I wanted the ability to tap their lands every single turn. And really, only Mind Games has the ability to tap their land the first turn (giving me huge speed advantage). The idea was for it to be suicidal...almost...stuff with one time uses like Mind Games/Convincing Mirage...just to have an all or nothing rush at the opponent. But decks like that either win fast/big or sizzle out. What you are suggesting is to make it more stable/consistent...but maybe less explosive. Convincing Mirage is suppose to combo with Copy Enchantment. I mean, having both Convincing Mirage AND Spreading Algae is suppose to give more purpose/uses for Copy Enchantment. That way I don't have Copy Enchantment in the deck for just one card (which is a flawed idea, as you know, to have a card in the deck solely for one other card). Suppose to make me having Copy Enchantment in my hand be more versatile. But I do see where it is a weak card. Having trouble, so far, thinking about removing Dizzy Spell...only because it is a sure fire method to get Spreading Algae. Since I got back into Magic, the last year or so, I have made sure I have search engines in ALL of my decks...realizing it a mistake that I made when I played in the past. 4 Spreading Algae cards plus 3 search cards is going to boost my odds greatly that I will get a Spreading Algae on the first 4 turns. Hidden Stings was a card first suggested when making this deck. Hate to rip off a guy ( i added Dream's Grip instead), but that makes 2 people that suggest it. So, may see where I can put it. Sword of War and Peace would be brutal in this deck..since it is designed to nuke their lands...in theory they will have lots of cards in their hands. Kind of pricey...which I have come to realize...this deck, properly built...is expensive. Ports, Urborgs, Swords, Copy Enchantments....
It is a killer card...but it isn't a lion or tiger. By the way, just went back and liked your pox deck. lol. I commented on it, but never hit the like button. Thanks for the card suggestion.
Yep, i thought of the Rishadan Port and Urborg immediately. But 3 of each would run me: over 400 dollars. And as is, the entire deck is 50 bucks. But yeah...Port and Urborg would be brutal!
First off. NO, I will not add:Rishadan Port (115 dollars a piece)Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth (35 dollars a piece)Those cards would be brutal!!Areas i need help with: 1) Do I need drawing power? 2) What is the correct mixture of cards that change basic land type/cards that tap lands? I have 10 cards that change land types and 9 cards that tap lands. Is that enough/too much for Spreading Algae?3) Is my Invisible Stalker/Dingus Egg viable win conditions? 4) Do i need more threat removal? Any advice is helpful.
http://www.mtgvault.com/jessie/decks/spreading-dingus/An example of how descriptive some of my decks are. Feel free to read the novel!
So, offer advice to other people.
Sushi deck? It has a name, already? Yeah...spreading algae is a really good card, not surprised really, that a deck with that card would be named. Or is that your universal name for cheesy decks? And as spoken before, i feel intimidated offering advice to you. As i am sure, other's are too.Mainly because i feel, that no matter what cards i suggest, you are smart, and have already considered them. Plus, you run a lot of decks with cards that only have 1 copy of them. And that throws my simple brain for a loop. But sure, I can try to offer advice. :)I guess...basic advice...is that if you run 1 copy of a card, make very sure you have a search engine to be able to access it. Anyways, this is the deck link:http://www.mtgvault.com/jessie/decks/spreading-dingus/
Fyi, sending people to this deck, if they ask me for help!! lolAnd i would give 10 likes for this deck, and you being nice enough to freely offer up advice, if i could. Check out my Spreading Algae deck. It is a solid idea...i think. It is land destruction/lockdown deck...which you hate, but besides that, give it a look, when you have the chance. Issue is, what is the correct number of cards that A) turn my opponent's lands into swamp type and B) tap my opponents lands. Crude concept is this1. Put spreading algae on their Mountain (plains, island, etc)2. Use something like Reef Shaman to change their Mountain into a Swamp type3. Use something like Dream's Grip to tap their Swamp, destroying it, and bringing spreading algae back to my hand. 4. Repeat process. Main issue i am having...is very little room (without going over 60 cards...many tournament winners have gone over 60 cards...i just hate to) for drawing power or threat removal. As well as my win condition is very, very, very slow.
I would have thought, for sure, that Braingeyser would cost a lot more money!
Honest advice. I have never played but 1 tournament (just a group of friends, not anything official). But this is what I know: see who is winning the tournaments and look at what types of decks they are using. Then you build a deck that you think can beat their decks. For example, if the winning players are using blue control decks...then make yourself a fast red burn deck.If they are winning with decks with a lot of creatures in them...then put creature destruction in your deck.If they are winning with direct burn...then add in lifegain to your deck. Taking a small guess...but since this deck has so much flying creature hate...i am assuming that you are playing against a lot of people who have flying creatures. I don't play Modern...and really can't offer that many card suggestions. I might suggest taking out about 6 of your creatures and adding 6 pump up cards like Overwhelming Stampede or another card that pumps up your creatures. Or...maybe take 6 of the creatures out and add some drawing power or card searching power. Just...have fun! Ultimately that is my advice. http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/puschkin-please-help-me/Go there. Puschkin loves to critique decks!! If you can stand him ripping you a new one, he will help make your deck better. Just go to his deck, and ask for advice.Good luck!
You know I will be using your help thread, for sure!
