I totally understand the logic behind it. Just saying...you should try to build an awesome, well-rounded, deck that can pull out an answer to anything thrown at you. For example...you want to go to a local card shop and play a random person. You don't want to have to worry about best of 2 out of 3 games....or extra cards...or sideboard...you just want to bring a good deck. And for you just to go up to a random person, with an unknown deck, and to play just one game...you will want to bring a deck that has answers to creatures/enchantments/artifacts. It just blows my mind to see a tournament winning deck that has no artifact/enchantment hate. Wondering how the hell they won any game/let alone an entire tournament with no cards that kill of artifacts/enchantments. Then you look at their Sideboard...and say, "oh, i see they have Naturalize. How weak!"

Also agreed. Every deck, should have ways to remove enchantments/artifacts.But most people just sideboard those cards for tournament.I get that and all. Keeping your deck and putting in just the essential cards. I do get that, really...but every game you play isn't going to be a best of 3/tournament matches. Since i have got back into Magic, besides tempo, I have worked most on making sure EVERY DECK has answers to creatures, artifacts, and enchantments. It sucks balls, pardon the french and immaturity, to build a great deck and have a great game going...and then your opponent dropping a huge, game winning bomb of a creature/artifact/enchantment on you...and you not being able to do crap about it. It just sucks...and not really even necessary. But then again, if you look at a current tournament winning deck...i doubt you find a deck that runs artifact/enchantment hate in the main deck. It is always in the sideboard. It aggravates me. Hell, i could be wrong...every tournament winning deck may run artifact/enchantment hate. I just know, back in the day...that stuff was always put in the sideboard. This is where i could go on a rant about sideboards being lame to begin with...and how you bring the best, most well rounded deck to a tournament...and rely on that! Not a good sideboard.
Honestly no. I am not familiar with Pokemon or Yugioh. Only example i know was the one i mentioned with pikachu.I do think you would get A LOT MORE votes/page views if you changed the name of the deck to "Yugioh"It would get people's attention.
Very, very neat.
Agree with Maniac, Geth's Verdict over the Go for the Throat. Geth's Verdict can kill indestructible creatures. As well as hexproof creatures.
Umm, not familiar with most standard cards...but first issues I see are:Anger of the Gods is going to kill all of your own creatures. You have to super rely on your white cards to pump up your creatures/protect them from your own spell. Or you have to rely on Purphoros being in your hand/in play. You have no draw power. You being on the 5th/6th turn and topdecking, that sucks. Even if you do have cards that can use your extra mana lying around...you never want to be out of cards in your hand. You have no answers, whatsoever, to artifacts and enchantments. If nothing else, Sideboard Smelt. If it is Standa
I will look over your decks, Apez. If i understand them/if they aren't standard...then i might be able to offer advice.
Okay, where are you guys going for the translator? And Northy will get such a kick at this!
Christ, and he has over 300 decks that are under 20 dollars?!!That is why so many people showed him so much love!
So, for everyone: The infinite combo is like this:3 cards needed. 1 Tim. 1 Curiosity. 1 Mind over Matter.Example: You have Mind over Matter on the field. You have a Prodigal Sorcerer enchanted with a Curiosity. You tap the Sorcerer to do one damage to you opponent. Now you get to draw a card do to Curiosity. Then you discard the card you just drew to use Mind over Matter to untap Sorcerer. Now repeat. Tap the Sorcerer again to cause one damage to your opponent, which lets you draw a card (do to curiosity), which lets you discard the card (do to Mind over Matter), which lets you untap the Sorcerer. Repeat that until your opponent dies.
Awesome advice, Forza215. I added Mind over Matter.
Hydra thought i was stoned! I guess for good reasons, who puts a pikachu in a Magic deck? lol. Just curious, is Yugioh played close to the same way as Magic? I remember back in the early 2000s they had over a dozen card playing games, like Magic. Not sure how many survived/are still played nowadays.
Going to be a part of this
And what is the cash amount we are looking at? What did Northy consider budget? Under 30 dollars? Under 25 dollars? Under 20?
Thank you. It is going to be a real challenge to me. I do not know, before making a deck, what cards are budget and what cards are not budget. I start a deck with a theme/idea in my mind, and finish it. Sometimes the end result is 20 bucks and other times the results end up over 200 bucks. Northy was awesome for being able to make solid budget decks. For sure, for sure.
Crap...missed that the Key tapped.
Definitely going to be a part of this. I may use this page to do as Northy asked. Pick a fav budge deck of his. Redo it in my own fashion. And use some yiddish...or some other language i do not know. :)I will give it the first like, of many, I hope.
Yes indeed, just seems like you are missing one or two ideas/one or two cards...for this deck to be an absolute beast! But as you have stated before, you hate pure lockdown...and this deck, as it is, still gives your opponent chances to win.
Cheaper cost than Sages? Aphetto Alchemist cost is much cheaper...but he taps. And that isn't what you need, I don't think.I think Galvanic Key is what you are looking for. One mana cheaper to cast...but not cheaper to use it's ability. Not a creature though. And you said you wanted the deck creature light. So it is a solid suggestion. Training Grounds is an option. I think, i suck with rules, but if Sages ability is considered an activated ability (maybe not...maybe it has to be tapped to considered activated? I honestly suck with rules)...then it will reduce the cost of Galvanic Key or Sages to 1 mana to untap artifact. That is a option. Mind over Matter...hugh mana cost...but lots of people used it back in the day for infinite loops with Tolarian Academy. But again, discarding cards isn't what you are looking for.
I voted it up. Not sure who else did. Because I have seen several people complain about lazy people posting their decks for likes/suggestions WHO HAVE NOT offered any advice. But your way was awesome. lol
