Verdict, warleaders helix, revelation, counterspells, and the finishers were 2 elspeth and 1 aetherling

I tested it today against grixis control, uwr control, and red deck wins. It went 2-1 against grixis, 1-2 against uwr, and 2-0 against mono red. It did much better than I expected honestly. I originally had omenspeaker in here but I chose to go for raw card draw instead of scrying. Ill go look at your deck now :)
Fixed it up to fit in draw power and lower the curve a bit. Thoughts?
I would have to agree with radikar and say 2 omenspeakers
I was talking about the same combo with a friend the other day! Seems reeeally funny if you can pull it off. And also instantly game winning haha. Prophet of kruphix makes it easy to pump them all out quickly too. This might be really fun at fnm
Thanks, great suggestions! I was already considering ordeal of thassa, this deck really lacks card draw.Yeah, that was the plan. I already have most of the cards :p
Thanks! If only those cards were staying in standard :/ I have been considering a lot more draw power. Any cards from rtr block or theros that you think would be good for card advantage?
I reeeally like this set. I'm a huge fan of flavor and I can find something about every card that I like. Plus drafting this set is going to be amazing. As for constructed, there are a lot of nice edh cards, and a lot of "build around me" cards for standard. My favorites are probably prophet of kruphix, triad of fates, underworld cerberus, and both hydras. What do you think overall?
If you can pull all of those cards in one game, sounds really good. Just a bit tricky to pull off
Furthermore, between thragtusk, obzedat, and blood baron, there's plenty of lifegain to compensate. Also, golgari charm is an easy fix. If he went into a meta with lots of red he could easily swap out a few kill spells for golgari charms.
Hello! I just got your PM on the forums today...sorry for the delay, I havent been around for a few weeks.First off I want to point out that you're a little heavy into enchantments for your own creatures. If you're going to be using bubbling cauldron, you're essentially two-for-oneing yourself if you have an enchantment on the creature you sac. Also, blood baron can't be enchanted by white or black spells anyway. However I do love the use of path of bravery, that should definitely stay. Dark prophecy however is a bit hard to cast in two colors, and I'd consider dropping it.With the removal of a few enchantments, you should probably add some more creatures. Honestly festering newt is a great option. Hes either a kill spell, lifegain with a cauldron, or a 2/2 from your path of bravery. Hard to argue with for one mana. Also, xathrid necromancer and doomed traveler would thrive in here, alongside gather the townsfolk. With the necromancer they give you multiple sacrfices or an army of resistant beaters beefed up by your path of bravery. If you go the human deck route, bogbrew with becomes much better. She gets an entire combo online, and becomes a zombie if you have the necromancer.I know we're combining three entirely different combos altogether here, but they work so well together. The finished list could end up looking something like this:3 Bubbling cauldron3 Blood baron3 Fiendslayer2 Vizkopa guildmage4 festering newt4 xathrid necromancer2 bogbrew witch4 angelic accord3 path of bravery2 sanguine bond3 gather the townsfolk2 orzhov charm1 diabolic tutor2 doom blade22 landOf course you should tweak it as you see fit, but this idea really has a lot of potential. I hope I wasn't too late to help out and I hope thatmy suggestions were at least somewhat helpful. Good luck! :)
The only reason I think you have too many 5 drops is the lack of acceleration/ramp. I would try to use 6-8 mana dorks, namely elvish mystics or avacyns pilgrim. I know pilgrim is rotating, but he's your best bet to make this work. If you are hellbent on avoiding innistrad, manaweft sliver is good enough on its own to avoid the sliver shell, and can effectively be a farseek in many cases. To make room I would drop 2 blood baron (moving 1 to the sideboard and losing the other altogether) one or two scavenging ooze (again, moving to the sideboard wouldn't hurt), a selesnya charm, and a few abrupt decays or doomblades. Hope this helped, good luck
Went 3-1-1 and made top 8. Dropped first round of top 8 though...I was paired against a friend, and I had to leave before the thing was over anyway. Wouldve felt bad knocking him out and then leaving, yknow?
Ok, I have the list as it is finished. Think this is ready for game day?
Idk about heroes reunion. Maybe ethereal armor instead?
Vintage, I just lol'd at your first post. That guy was annoying as hell. You can probably still find my forum post bitching about him :p
This isn't right, he used full art zendikar basic lands, not m14 lands :p lol just kidding. cool to see someone post this, i was curious who ended up winning
Its a band...they have a song called darkness within...lol good song.
You must not be trying as hard as you say you are to be respectful then...just accept that some people will decline your advice and when they do decline, don't be a dick about...I don't say that simply to use profanity or insult, it's just the best way I can describe the attitude that's coming across. Calling yourself a teacher and a pro does sound incredibly pious. Sorry to burst your bubble, but this isn't a pro tour. It's a forum of EQUAL players with varying intentions and skill levels, and they don't all play the game the same way you do. So please, if you want to be respected, stop acting like you're better than everybody else. Be an equal, be a member of the community, be helpful, just don't be rude or condescening about it.
^agreed. At least sideboard, but main deck wouldn't hurt.
