Oh yeah hydras are amazing. Can NOT wait for Theros xD Thanks, if I make that RG version I'll post it here, your input would be nice there too

Yeah I was thinking the same kinda...Vorel is a bit "win more"And master biomancer was just a good 4 drop. He seemed better than do nothing and wait to cast decent hydras. I just like how he effectively makes everything cheaper and allows a 5/5 double striker on turn 4 (assuming farseek). Ifbthe mythic 4 drop hydra from theros is better than 4 mana do nothing, I will probably drop blue (unless we get a blue hydra...)Didn't really need the reach in any testing. Either I got big enough because of vorel to attack for ~10 and blood for game or I used kessig for trample. If I take out blue ill put in rancor and ghor clan rampager. Also rangers guile to replace simic charm. The charm has saved my ass so many times. Lol.That's because it isn't worth $300 :p kalonian hydra is really inflated right now, when he comes down this deck will be around $200, half of which can be attributed to the shock lands. As I said in the description, not meant to win any pro tours. I honestly just got bored of my old rug deck (which was DEFINITELY tournament ready lol) and wanted a more fun deck. So far this deck works fine enough in my meta for me. But seriously, its a hydra deck, how competitive can it be? :p
No problem. I left a comment on your forum post too, hopefully that advice is helpful too
Updated with some new M14 stuff for anybody interested. Voracious wurm has been in triple digits already :p no archangel of thune yet, too pricey atm.
Yeah the current version (not this, the version that I actually have) goes infinite, wins with chalice of life, or wins with a 20/20 voracious wurm with trample and lifelink. Its much better than this. Honestly this post was more for myself to compile and analyze what I will have to work with and what needs to be replaced when rotation hits. I agree this isn't as competitive as it currently could be, its just some stuff that I want to keep building around when rotation hits. Thank you for the suggestions though, ill consider them with the final draft with theros
Honestly waaay too many counterspells in here. More token generators might be smart. Gather the townsfolk, krenkos command, molten birth, midnight haunting... another solid win con would be good too. Dragonshift is nice and should definitely stay, but maybe 3 teleportals as another win con would help. Also I would drop barrage and ratchet bomb for goblin electromancer to cast that dragonshift sooner. Hands of binding is another possibility, cipher is excellent with young pyromancer. Hope this helped, check out my deck "Young Dracomancer" for an izzet version :)
Looks good, exp 1 was my gravecrawler replacement too in my budget version! For a reasonable price this is very good. Really solid deck
Hidden strings and ral zarek would both be awesome in here. Untap on your turn, silence with arcanist, untap with ral or strings and wait until their turn. Then after a few turns -7 ral and just win.
Cool deck. Woodlot crawler seems sideboard at best to me...I'd swap him out of the maindeck for those nighthawks and another counterspell.
I know he isn't usually playable, but thraben doomsayer has a really fun interaction with xathrid necromancer.
I would replace victim of night and 2 golgari charms with a set of doom blades. Maybe drop slitherheads for gravecrawlers if you habe them. Other than that, looks like a really solid list.
I'd try to squeeze in a few ætherling if you can get them. Maybe render silent instead of counterflux too. I've never been a fan of counterflux, but that's just me.
op.
And for some reason all of his comments got downvoted...
Alright, I can respect that. Poor baguvix...lol
Yeah I was here too. I'm just saying, the reason that they're back is because of an influx of new users. They want to make the site active and appealing to bolster the community. They're trying to get rid of trolls also. Its taking a while, but they're working on it. Best thing we can do until then is ignore them.
And if you ignore them, they stay away. Top decks isn't (aren't?) a joke, they're included so that the site seems more active to newer users. But yeah well, I guess I can't change your mind.
And now this is going to be on the hot decks page, and any new member is gonna see this front page deck with a long ass argument on it. Gary and Ian said themselves in the forums that THIS, what you are doing right now, is one of the biggest problems on the site. Seriously, it isn't helping. If you think that trying to change his mind is helping the community or even this deck, I'm going to have to disagree.
Children, please, calm down...both decks are good. Aggro wins quick but can easily be blocked or raced by bant enchantments. However, some aggro can just overwhelm and win anyway. As for the cards doing work by themselves, thats just boring...making a card work well means that it isn't a bad card anymore. Bottom line, if it works for you it works. Instead of insulting, suggest improvements. Stop making the community worse by arguing about stupid stuff, the site was meant to help eachother out. The actual help is just too rare on here anymore.
Also, goblin guide and spark elemental are great creatures to consider. Especially the goblin guide.
