It feels like you're trying to do too much here. Molten vortex and zombie infestation do work with life from the loam, but I wouldn't add that in here unless that's your primary strategy. I would say go with the zombies you have and swap the other stuff out with things to support them. I have a zombie deck I've been working on for modern myself. I'll drop a link when I add the new stuff to it

Replaced kataki, war's wage with null rod in sideboard. Should be more useful vs artifacts

Dropped an abrupt decay, a dark deal, and both chainer's edict for a thoughtseize playset. Should fix my lack of discard spells on hand

Unless this is budget, thoughtseize is infinitely better than duress. I would replace it

The fetch lands are only really going to be used early on for mana fixing. After that they won't be used but pre arbiter they help

Because while useful, he doesn't benefit the combo. When we combo off, it's to win on that turn. Why add an extra step that only gives the opponent more time to stop it?

This is positively evil. I want it. My friends would never let me play it more than once, but that's all that matters

No ghostfire blade? It's literally made for decks like this. And where's unwinding clock?

Electrolyze is your friend here. It's one of the best izzet cards to use in burn control style decks

I'm sorry but your last point about what isn't competitive is very off. All four of those cards were highly competitive in the decks built around them. Aetherling is a control finisher, Oracle of bones and enter the infinite was a legit finisher at one point, ogre battledriver is a late game aggro monster, and chandra's phoenix sees modern play in burn shells. Not the most competitive my ass. At least your other points are valid though.

As much as I would agree on the dual lands and such, he has prismatic omen in here. Not that it'll do much good. I would suggest adding two more and oath of nissa so you can actually cast the stuff

I only went for fabricate because it can also hit blighsteel. Muddle is still good though. Thoughtcast is great, but machinate allow me to stack my deck as I choose after picking an artifact. Forgot about stoic rebuttal. Might find room for citadel

In honor of the recent unbanning of Sword of the Meek, I give you all...Thopterblade! It needs work but for the most part is completed. Desperately needs a sideboard
