Modern, Why? I would make it legal in extended, but seeing that there are not many extended tournaments I just decided to make the deck modern and make it a lot better.

Props for trying to make it cheap, but unfortunately, that doesn't work with these types of decks.

Okay, so, what you are going to want to do is find a way to double, or even triple your mana while slowing the other person down. If you look at mine, I can tap one forest and put 4 counters on helix pinnacle, which is a lot better than 1 for 1. 4x the efficiency. So I see that you want to use creatures for this, so you have the right idea, you are going to want to add something along the lines of vernal bloom, there are three cards that do the same thing, one is mana reflection. Mana reflection will really help you out here. It will be your best friend. Mana Reflection. Then add doubling cube, this way there is a second way to add mana to your pool. Another card you are going to want to add is Karametra's Acolyte. Rosheen Meanderer is another card you are going to want to add. It produces 4 a turn. Try adding red, because of this plainswalker: Xenagos, the Reveler. His +1 is add X to your mana pool where X is the number of creatures you control. Yes, add omnath, along with doubling cube. This will double the mana on omnath every turn. While you are at it, add in doubling chant to double the elves. Or you could add overwhelming stampede in combination with omnath for a win secondary win condition. Also, get rid of the Awakening zone, it really serves no purpose in here, it is so slow, also, get rid of devoted druid and elvish mystic, and add in another juraga treespeaker. Add in Flynhorn Elder, and other cards like that. Now, lands, you have 24 basic lands, you are going to want 22, and 4 of those are going to be tectonic edges, this way it can counter nonbasic lands that might have good effects. Try this and see what you think. If you are going to add red, add Rootbound Crag and 4 other mountains. Increase the culivates, and other than that it looks good! Oh, you need a way to make sure that your helix pinnacle is out, so maybe find a tutor for that.

Ya sure, but can you tell me if you think I should add omnath in? He would work amazing with doubling cube

I can't get rid of black, because that is where the creatures gain infect from, plus, the way I have the mana set up, that shouldn't be a problem

I agree, it is about time that somebody actually did something with helix pinnacle. WHAT DOES EVERYBODY THINK ABOUT ADDING IN OMNATH, WITH DOUBLING CUBE, THAT WOULD GO INSANELY FAST, and if omnath is destroyed, the mana can go straight to helix pinnacle.

Sort of, I had built one similar to this a while back, but just recently (yesterday) I improved it. So yes, I own most of this in real life. The ones that I don't own are currently proxies.

Sorry, that is a 3 card combo, and I am trying to keep as many creatures out of this deck as possible

Thanks, these are some really great ideas. This is my first time trying to build a deck like this.

I just realized that doubling cube + Omnath = Win

And so you are right, thank you for pointing out this small detail to me! I will add doubling cube in place of it now!

Am I correct by saying that this is a control deck? And what I would recommend doing is adding arcane sanctum, and adding in white to the deck. So your land setup should look something like 3 islands, 3 swamps, 3 mountains, and 3 plains, 4 arcane sanctums, oh, and take out terramorphic expanse. As good as some people think this card is, it isn's. It actualy puts you a turn behind in land. So now keep all your duel lands, and add one in that is blue white. Then double some of the double lands. Now you can add in Scourglass, to wipe the field if you need it of everything but baleful strix. Or you could add oblivion ring, or mind control. And if you are not worried about legality, add ponder, you could also add Austere Command in your sideboard to deal with weenie decks and not get rid of your Jeleva. Oh, and if you are going to use Jeleva, get some really powerful spells in there that you couldn't normally cast. Try a combo with plague wind and Rise of the Dark Realms. Or do this combo with time stretch. I would add these in as singletons, and you can get them using diabolic tutor. Try this and see what you think. This could be a great deck!

This would actually be a very good card for this deck, but it isn't legal in modern :(
