And you spend minimal time researching.
The best way to be introduced to deck building is beefing up a starter deck. You learn what the value of cards are (not just price). For example, I started on my M14 Lifegain deck.
I sense shenanagins! I like the deck! Save for the price ...
Thank you Kazzong!
Exactly! He should go have some good fun looking for cards. I mean, I loved looking for instants to put in my Jace deck, Knights to put in my two knight decks, and cheap zombies to put in Northern's Zombie deck.
Kazzong, what would I do without you? Of course I meant training grounds! Can you take a peek at my Jace deck?
This is a token deck. Therefore, lifegain is based around tokens. Auriok Champion, Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant, Staff of the Sun Magus, Suture Priest, ... Angelic Accord to round that off? Maybe Rest for the Weary, or my favorites; Awe Strike and Acolyte's Reward.Oh, and Barracuda, Rider of Gavony would be great in the sideboard against tribal decks.
I agree that Barracuda is a little scatterbrained at the moment. This deck needs focusing. Methinks honor of the pure, accorder paladin, and ttue Conviction might do the trick.I disagree with the populate mechanic's use. It lends itself to powerful tokens (Godsire!), not a swarm of saprolings, or aggro decks in general. It's a great midrange tactic, just barely aggro. The really deadly G/W spells buff all the creatures.White is the second most aggresive color, after red, and has the 2nd best weenie creatures after green (Deadly Recluse, Kalonian Tusker). However, look at Mentor of the Meek, Odric, Master tactician, and Hero of the Parish! Look at Elspeth's ability! Each color and guild has several facets to it. The 5 main colors are 26 or so blocks old! White has a dozen strategies to choose from, not just stalling: exile, knight, cleric, lifegain, angel, token aggro (look at soldiers), to name the big ones.White is a perfectly valid token deck choice. The best is a tie between Boros (Assemble the Legion, Frontline Medic Agrus Kos, Wojek Veteran, Aurelia, the Warleader, etc.) and Simic (Mycoloth, Master Biomancer, Doubling Season, Viral Drake etc.) and Golgari (Zombie Infestation, Endless Ranks of the Dead, Master of the Undead, etc.).
Alright, FYI, the 2 most ridiculous creatures that benefit from instants and sorceries are Guttersnipe and Kiln Fiend. Izzet Guilmage w/ Training Camp is broken, and Gelectrode is plain awesome. If you have training camp, make to bring Brimstone Mage and Echo Mage too.
I moved some cards around.I think this deck qualifys as aggressive now.
I moved some things around. How does it look?
Or a kiln fiend =). You know those Izzet creatures ...
Or you could put a Gideon, Champion of Justice in here and be secure in knowing that your opponent won't be attacking you!
Still ... that electrode ... maybe you can sideboard it.Oh, and in response to your deck's name (which is a dirty trick to play on your opponent's turn)."No! Do you need me to 'spell' it out for you?! Stop asking me this 'instant'!""Hey, I'm just asking. I can help it, since most of what I know is not 'permanent'!"
Third time is a charm; The Tap Trap.
Thank you for your help! Casting may have taken a while!
Thank you, I am here all day =).I think that this is a tad more awesome though:Vampire Nighthawk + Thornbite Staff (in a vampire deck with ... Blood Artist and company)
Oh, and if you like bow of Nylea, look st this:Vampire Nighthawk + Thornbite Staff
I like you guys. I will give you a look at what I have been working on. http://www.mtgvault.com/knightofthehokeypokey/decks/it-jace-2/
