Umm ... sorry about the price of the volcanic islands. I have 4, and well ... that's a LOT of dough! I could build all of Northern's budget decks for that!

No, the combo is perfectly legal. The spells just don't target one another more than once. I.e., they only get to use their effect once. It's not in the comprehensive rules ... you have to look up the most recent rulings on the cards.

Why do you think so? It can only target instants and sorceries.

That must be it, because I checked everything here.

And I like the idea of fetchlands!

Thing that comes close is mana leak with goblin Electromancer.

I think the counter order (based purely on power and CMC) goes mana drain, force spike, Counterflux, Redirect, Counterspell, Rune snag, and mana leak.

Why is force spike so good? It can singlehandedly prevent anything from happening the 1st 3 turns of the game. The only

Lol, that's great! Though technically the exquisite blood and sanguine blood can't target their own effects - it would seem so, but it's illegal. They stack on top of each other, but that's it.

This rule prevents crazy combos, and is unique to this sort of cards. I parallel rule that states Eye of the Storm does not activate itself, even though it casts copies.

Strionic Resonator in place of some instant, and Thrummingbird in place of Doomed Traveler would help you stack those counters up!

Okay, I replaced Redirect with Mana Drain. I took away one island so there could be 4 of them. Redirect took Snap's place in the sideboard.

It can pay overload on Mizzium Mortars and Cyclonic Rift. More importantly, that mana can be used to imprint the overloaded spell on panoptic mirror.

I still think you should focus on 2 or 3 enchantments, instead of having 8 of them with 1 card for each.

I need help ... I found Mana Drain (it's a counterspell, but you gain mana from it!), but I don't know what to remove!

Nice avatar! You are right: this deck is purely for fun.

In a competitive environment, I would focus more on creatures and red burn. I would use the blue counter magic to back it up. Heck, I might even run the blue as land lockdown (chronic flooding) or mana drain (drain power, mana chains, etc.).

Lol ... except I expect Chandra to say that.

Jace would say, something along the lines of, "Well, at least all of that arm-waving and arcane babbling you did was impressive." (Remand).
