kind of. people here usually like either the more creative and less actually effective decks, or standard tourney decks. seeing the same archetype decks or netdecks over and over again generally gets boring after a while.

they have the hyena umbra in here to buff my ethereal armor because for each enchantment I control it gets +1/+1.

swords to plowshares is here because this deck can deal with life gain better than it can additional creatures. they probably don't want to give my opponent more land than they can already put out by themselves.

If they wanted to keep this modern... then sure. I personally would probably swap them since I normally like Path better.

Fairly even with a slight lean towards Johnny.
That is funny to me because very few of the decks that I actually own are really combo decks, but most that I have designed are. :)

Jessie, I was hoping you would taste a look at this deck for me.
I have been holding off on putting out up verse I just can't seem to get it to feel right.

To go with the theme of this article I guess a description would be good, to put in perspective another example of a combo deck.
This is a combo deck that controls the game by giving infinite turns VIA wurmfang manta. It isn't really competitive as it has no real control aspects to protect itself, but if it pulls off a win it does so in a resounding fashion that pummels your opponent. The synergy between wurmfang manta, torpor orb and conjurors' closet is freaky good, just... Slow.

hm... for some reason I read rending volley as a sorcery somehow. so very similar. on second look it appears that really the only difference is the 1 damage for 1 more mana. both can't be countered and are instants.

I would almost suggest running combust instead, but using 1 less mana in trade for the sorcery speed is still fairly enticing.

interesting. as you can target and destroy with Descent (not assault. I looked at the linked page) of the Dragons, and it isn't sacrifice... yeah. thaumaturge might be fairly useful. although it is blue.

hey, like I said, I found out I was wrong on this the first time, when I argued about it. everyone can always learn new things. :)

man... I haven't been on here in ages. :( I need to keep working on the decks I have in progress.

ok, so this is interesting. I believe that you are correct.\ in that it does 5 per dragon.
it seems to work on the same principles as Scapeshift/Valakut, the molten peak.

I actually had a disagreement with someone on this, and it turned out that I was wrong. so now I know.

each dragon enters, and puts a trigger on the stack.
but it doesn't resolve until the last dragon enters and no more triggers are added.
then as long as no other effects are put onto the stack each trigger is resolved, and counts the number of dragons.

make lots of GOOD comments on lots of decks, and people will start to notice you. then they will start to take interest in your decks because they liked your suggestions or explanations etc...

Springleaf drum? what purpose does that serve? you can't get infinite mana with it because it has to tap as well as the creature. can it really speed up the deck at all?

well, it is interesting I guess. although I am confused by the amount of gitaxian probes in the sideboard, and the choice of snow and artifact lands. (unless they are there for Mox Opal?)

other than that, I would add some spot removal simply because if you are too slow in getting Timesifter, Maralen and mindlock orb out, you really have no defenses. and at 5 mana timesifter is by no means a fast card, even with the artifact ramp you have.

did you think about order of the stars or empty-shrine kannushi? I know empty shrine isn't a defender, but it could be useful in a 5 color deck.
