Pure Yuck!!! Only minor flaw I see is that there is no way to protect your combo. Something like Duress to help remove any card they have that will destroy Bloodchief or Mindcrank.
Would love to see a red/black mill deck with Mindcrank and Bloodchief Ascension.
Missing a fetch card...but that isn't really necessary because it can win with pure burn. Red does seem possible with mill.
I very much like the Modern mono black version. It is one of my favorite of yours. It already had great creatures with Swiftwing and Nighthawk and Fleshbag. There are just some really good Legacy cards like Innocent Blood that would rock in a deck like that. And Culling the Weak!!! That card could be god like in a Soulflayer deck. But make it however you wish, Northy. And feel free to not be rushed.
To answer that question....yes and no. Lots of people argue over what is a Tribal Deck. Example: I have a Frog Tribal deck. In the deck I have 4 Llanowar Elves for mana ramp. Is this deck a true Tribal deck? Example 2: I have a Frog Tribal deck. In the deck I only have 8 Frogs. Is this deck a true Tribal deck? Example 3. I have a Frog Tribal deck. In the deck is 20 Frogs. In this deck I do not run a single Tribal Sorcery or Tribal Instant card. Is this deck a true Tribal deck? In my humble opinion a Tribal deck is a deck that: Is designed to win by a certain/central type of creature. Meaning: If you have a Frog Tribal deck that wins by using frogs, then it is a true Frog Tribal deck. If the deck uses the 4 Llanowar Elves, so what, because the Elves aren't winning you the game. They just provide mana ramp. If the deck only has 8 Frogs, so what, if you can use those 8 frogs to win. But some purist see it different. They love to see 16+ Frogs, no Elves (or any other type of creature besides Frogs), and want to see Tribal Sorcery and Tribal Instant cards. So...in short, it is subjective.
Since SoulFlayer is trading off the charts right now. And I love the card and what you did with it in Modern...could you think about making a Friday $50 dollar Legacy Version of the deck?
+1 for more women players (who do not destroy foil cards by making cosplay suits out of them, fyi).
Yep. Love the flavor. I tried something like this a few months ago. I love Frogs!
Thanks. My wife really loves Phoenixes. Will work on it.
http://www.mtgvault.com/jessie/decks/goblin-recruitermortal-combat/Sorry...that is the name of the deck. The old link did not have a deck title.
Hello Puschkin, you still around? I need help with this deck. It is extremely combo...which I know you do not like. It goes something like this: Step 1. Grindstone. Step 2. Goblin Recruiter (putting 20 Goblin on top of your library)Step 3. Grindstone the 20 Goblins into your graveyard. Step 4. Mortal Combat for the win. Main issue is the sheer number of cards required for the Combo to work. GrindstoneGoblin Recruiter20 other GoblinsMortal Combat. Meaning...the 20 Goblins need to be picked very damn carefully and have to have utility built in. Plus...I am running black and red. The 20 Goblins, if Grindstone is to work, need to be the same color, right? That makes it damn near impossible. Example: So far the deck has 20 Goblin Cards: 8 Black and 12 Red. Grindstone, with those stats, can not mill 20 creatures into my graveyard? Or could it? I guess it would depend on how I stacked the cards, right? So I need to look at 2 options: 1) Put in cards like Burning Inquiry and Warren Weirding to feed my graveyard with creatures or 2) run mono colored red Goblins. http://www.mtgvault.com/jessie/decks/947075/
Add some Ancestral Recall please.
Another very nice card, not Modern is Innocent Blood. You sack your Swiftwing and opponent sacks one of his creatures too. You then Delve Swiftwing with Soulflayer. It is better than the Geth's Verdict card, that is for sure.
Couch, Aaron, Chevaton...Nice conversation. +1 For everyone! I agree with both Couch and Aaron. That is why I do not play Standard. I mainly hate the idea of paying 300 dollars to be competitive...and then 6 months later my deck is worth 50 dollars. Who wants to lose 250 dollars? With Legacy, the staples do not go down in price. Your 2,000 dollar legacy deck will almost always remain a 2,000 dollar legacy deck. And Aaron has caught me. Most of my decks are already Legacy Casual anyways. Which means they would be brutally butt raped in a real Tourney. But I build Legacy Budget Casual because of the sheer number of cards available to choose from. But with that said...I have grown to hate the Spike attitude around Legacy. Yuck!If you can't build a Legacy deck that can win by Turn 3 then you suck and do not know what the hell you are doing and should not shame other Legacy players with your crappy decks. I hate that.
Nope. It isn't a turn 1 cheat, by far. Thank you!
7-0 for any night rocks!!!
I do love me some Gray Merchant.
I understand that. Interaction is very important.
Force Spike? Brainstorm? Another cheap burn spell maybe? Good luck!
