You mean like running Goglari Germination to get a crap ton of tokens? I mean maybe, Truthfully I can't change too much about the deck because I don't want to upset my Brother-in-Law. I just want to make it a little more cohesive.
i'm thinking around $25-30 to add to this deck.
it's slightly expensive for this deck, but i like trumpet Blast for red weenie decks. And legion loyalist is a must for a deck like this. JK... you said standard

I feel like unless you are going to Run Winds of Rath you could cut back on some of the enchantments, Something like honor of the pure or legion initiative instead of ordeal of purphoros, Which i feel is the weakest ordeal. it's just not a lot for 3 damage when it can be utilized better somewhere else. I'm also not a big fan of Truefire Paladin. If you are running a fast aggro deck you're going to have other things to spend the mana on than his abilities. Wojek Halbradier maybe. Legion loyalist would be good in this deck. Tajic is also a good card. I'd also run 4 boros Elite instead of Anax and Cymede because while it's a good card, if you do cut back on the enchantments you won't have much that will proc their ability. I have a soft spot for W/R decks so nomatter what you do it will be fun. But hey, you've made a lot more decks than I have. best of luck to you.
I'm really liking this deck, Minus the $150 dollars in land lol. It has a similiar vibe as my W/R Soldiers. Thumbs up!
Elgaud Shieldmate maybe?
Ajani's pridemate isn't that great in a deck like this, one that would get big chunks of life at once, because it only gets a +1/+1 counter each time you gain life. If it had the mechanic of Sunbound where you get a +1/+1 counter for how much life you gain it would be awesome. Barrage of boulders would be a good one to boost Pridemate.
I'm just saying for the fact that with this card, you could play a W/R lifegain deck that's just stupid fun to play. Monastary Mentor is going to tear some stuff up though. it's a Young Pyromancer on crack.I personally would run him in an Abzan deck. +1/+1 counters galore.
Haha I Could only wish. My wife threw a fit when I bought the cheap Elspeth for my soldier deck. I couldn't dream dropping $150-ish on 12 cards. But I guess we each have limits. Thank you for the advice though. it is much appreciated.
I've never heard of Wall of Reverence but I love it. The only reason I kept Soulmender over Nyx-fleeced ram is because it's a first turn drop. But the trade off is a pretty fair one. I made the appropriate changes but I put Obzedat in my sideboard.
So what advice do you have to improve the deck then? Do you think it's beneficial to run mana ramp? I really am open to constructive criticism. I've never played/made a life gain deck so this deck is all just what sounds good to me. I'm playing the deck how it's set up right now and it's a lot of fun. Minus the souls of the faultless. I'm picking them up from a card shop tonight. I'm running the Nyx-Fleeced Ram for now. My basic premise is to build a defense with the defenders and pridesmates, Proc'ing them and gaining life with the soulmenders until they are monstrous. Beat them down with the flyers, slow them down with Blind obedience, and just whittle away and their life with Extort and sanguine bond. I haven't played since Mirrodin cycle and just got back into the game about a month ago. Even back then I only 15 year old and ran a soldiers deck and a burn deck and didn't venture to learn new things. So I'm just trying to get back into the swing of things. I'd like to play Gifts of Orzhova but just don't know where to work it into the deck.

nah, I didn't want to run the infinite combo. I actually chose to run Sanguine Bond over Exquisite blood. It's just not fair to anyone else and noone will want to play against you. My main problem is whether I should run Souls of the faultless over Nyx-fleeced Ram.

haha i was just adding temple of triumph. and tweaking some other things. I swapped out 2 precinct captains for 2 Hero of Bladehold. We'll see how it works out when i go buy the cards this weekend. ill look into the others
