PLayed the deck over the weekend with friends and was able to kill 2 of 3 opponents. Maybe being more politically correct might help get a total win. DEck is fun to play but doesn't know the meaning of defence.

Have played this deck about 6 times at LGS Commander events and It has really held its own with a First and Second Place Finish(10 to 16 players) on two occasions. IT cant really deal with super competitive decks but often slows them down so other players can finish them off or prevent a combo win, leaving you to mop up the stragglers in the mid/late game.

Try adding Ichorclaw Myr, Plague Myr or Grafted Exoskeleton for more infect options. I don't think you need the 4 walls for protection, cut for more infect options or add board wipe and let opponent overextend. Nice simple idea casual deck

What you say is true, but the deck is mostly green/ blue and I like the consistency. In the few games I have played so far the mana flow has been pretty decent. Thanks for your imput.

Seems like fun, maybe play Caustic Caterpillar in the main deck, too many pesky auras in Pauperto deal with.

Suggestions welcome. This deck can be vastly improved by raising the budget. I am looking for inexpensive cards that will impact the deck in a positive manner. Please do not suggest expensive ($5 and up) cards. Thanks

I think you need more "creature cant block" effects in the deck. Intimidator Initiate would help. For Goblins to win they have to be lightning fast, and your deck only feels fast. Goblin Sledder or Mogg Raider over the Lookout Also Fireblast 1 or 2 over Raid Bombardment. Good Luck Pauper is a great format.

Awakening Zone, Reassembling Skeleton and Haunted Crossroads should find a place in this deck. Also add a Rancor , Sakura tribe Elder, and Eternal Witness - all staples in Shattergang decks.

Pretty solid Zurgo deck. I play Zurgo semi-regularly at my LGS EDH night and he is always a force to be reckoned with, often controls the table and wins 30-40% of the time in a competitive meta. I would suggest one or two more main deck enchantment removal spells. Liliana can find them for you as Grave Pact can mess you up since you only have a few creatures. Again nice deck, go beat some buttttttt.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will probably make some of your change suggestions if I dust off this deck to play, -it hasn't seen the light of day in 4 years - as very few people in my meta play pauper anymore. A real shame as pauper gives a real old time kitchen table feel to the game. I mainly play EDH and Pauper EDH at present.

You need some artifact and enchantment removal or you are going to be locked down in many matches You can afford to drop 6 to 10 creatures and still be true to your basic game plan. Lightning Greaves and Swiftfoot Boots should be auto includes as your commander will draw hate very early in most games.

Looks like a nice pauper build. I think Spidersilk Armor should be main deck, as well as either Pounce or Prey Upon . Flying is a weakness of this deck and they would be more effective than Mana Tithe IMO. Maybe add a Quicksand and drop the Terramorphic Expanse. Nice job...

Why are you playing Akroan Crusader as you have nothing to utilize the heroic ability in the deck? Boris Recruit, Cenn's Taction, Doomed Traveler, Elite Vanguard, or Gideon's Lawkeeper, all cost 1 mana and have better value. You also do not play any protection for your creatures or removal in your deck, making it a one trick pony that can easily be stopped. Soldiers with pump is a good basic strategy, but you need to round out the deck more to be viable, even on a strict budget.

How about adding Assault Formation ( as a 2 of) dropping 2 Predator's Strike. Also put together a sideboard with Enchantment and Artifact hate for starters. I know you are probably playing on budget, but the land base needs upgrading if you are playing Modern, even on a kitchen table basis. At least add the Gr/Bl/Wh tri-land to the mix. I play Doran as an EDH commander and he is a lot of fun..

Veteran Warleader seems like a natural choice for this deck and cut the Naturalize to 2 main deck - rest sideboard. The other ally creatures with trample might also be good choices.
