In the article he says that there's only one card like Sphinx's Tutelage. I'd like to call bull. There's one other card that works similar. It's a lot slower as it only mills 1 card per card drawn, but it does cost 1 less mana and is only a common. And that card is Jace's Erasure.

http://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/budget-magic-91-35-tix-modern-tutelage-turbo-fog^ This was just brought to my attention. Looks very similar to what we made here, so I thought I'd share
Ezuri, Renegade Leader has an 'overrun' effect that can be activated multiple times. Joraga Warcaller's kicker abilities is "Multikicker", which means it can be kicked multiple times. Both pump all my Elves by a LOT.
Or he could just play one of the many X damage spells.
I don't normally comment on Legacy / Vintage decks as I don't play that format, but let me see if I understand some of the interactions here. Food Chain is key here, but only Brainstorm and Ponder can dig for it. Is that enough dig for a key card? Food Chain + Misthollow Griffin = infinite mana. Manipulate Fate is for exiling the Griffin, effectively searching for it as you don't mind it being in exile? Besides an exile option for Food Chain to get Misthollow Griffin back from exile, Fierce Empath only other interaction is to fetch Vela the Night-Clad.With the infinite mana loop, Genesis Hydra can fetch any other nonland permanent you want, and enter frigging huge. Vela the Night-Clad gives intimidate to Genesis Hydra or adds life loss to the infinite mana loop. The only concern I have is fetching / digging for Food Chain. Also, wouldn't Misthollow Griffin work nicely with Force of Will?
He's using the Ascendancy for the Haste.
Paradox's upkeeps do indeed stack.
For speed, there's nothing better than getting your stuff out early. With this in mind, I suggest adding 4-8 mana dorks. Noble Hierarch and Birds of Paradise would be best as they can add either of your colours. If they're too expensive ($) for you, Llanowar Elves and Elvish Mystic are good too, even if they only add green. For synergy, you'll have to pick 'walkers with complementing abilities. In GW, one popular choice is token creatures production and support.Elspeth, Knight-Errant costs 4 mana and her first [+1] pops out one token. Her ultimate provides indestructible to 4 permanent types. Elspeth, Sun's Champion costs mana (not very fast) and her [+1] pops out three tokens. Her ultimate provides a good Anthem effect. Gideon, Ally of Zendikar costs 4 mana and his [0] pops out one token. His ultimate provides a decent Anthem effect that can be put into effect the turn he enters the battlefield. Nissa, Voice of Zendikar costs 3 mana and her [+1] pops out one token. Her [-2] puts a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control and her ultimate provides life and card draw. Garruk Wildspeaker cost 4 mana and his his [-1] pops out one token. His [+1] provides a pseudo mana ramp and his ultimate provides an Overrun effect. If you do go with the token creatures route, adding Intangible Virtue is a must.
Slap Shields of Velis Vel onto an Isochron Scepter lets you get the effect every turn.
Nice to be back on the front page :DBeen a while since I've brainstormed to this degree, been kind of stagnating. I think the surprise of the new Menace got the cogs turning again.Depending on your core deck idea, I believe there's a lot one could include to ward off the 'common' threats. Most of which can come from the most unlikely of places. I once surprised a player with a well timed Beckon Apparition to stop the Persist + Melira, Sylvok Outcast combo (just exile the creature before Persist brings it back). I had modded my WB token deck to include no actual creatures (Beckon Apparition took Doomed Traveler's slot) and had 3 Surgical Extraction in sideboard too. He practically rage-quit :PLucky for me, most South Africans seem to be waiting to see if anything in the Eldrazi Aggro deck gets banned before dumping money into the deck. Everyone seems to be expecting Eye of Ugin to be banned, if there is a banning. While I'm also hopping for the ban, I find that if people think hard enough, they can actually make decks that can out these problem decks with keeping them viable against other decks with surprising ease. Even Twin wasn't bad, once you knew how to time that kill / enchantment destruction spell. I even started to sideboard Batwin Brume in my B / BX decks because its black part of its effect could kill the Twin player BEFORE the attacking creatures could kill me.
Clone can copy the animated Artifact, but it'll enter as just the artifact, for the same reason Metamoph does. It's actually an interesting way to double up on the copied permanent.
Myr Retriever is the only card in Modern (that I know of) that does what it does. So search will probably be your best bet.I've not played Thirst for Knowledge, so I won't say anything about it just yet.Beseech the Queen can search for any of the combo pieces for {B}{B}{B}.Dimir Infiltrator; Muddle the Mixture; and Shred Memory can all Transmute for the combo pieces. Fabricate can search for any Artifacts. Artificer's Epiphany looks like it works similar to Thirst for Knowledge. Forbidden Alchemy could even work as you don't mind putting extra Myr Retrievers into the graveyard. You also don't have to reveal what you put into your hand. Then there's always Sleight of Hand and Serum Visions.
Ethereal Haze can prevent creature damage from outside of combat. (*cough*Vexing Devil*cough*)
Open the Armory from Shadows Over Innistrad looks like a potential addition to these Midnight Presence decks.
Firstly, it would be nice if you used the How to Play section to explain the deck and its combo's. Stops people asking for the combo. You need two Myr Retriever for the combo to work. One in the graveyard to return when the second dies as you can't return the one that just died. Junk Diver doesn't work as well unless you get a second Heartless Summoning out as it costs {3} and Heartless Summoning only reduces by {2}, making Junk Diver cost {1} instead of being 'free'.As for Junk Diver not being legal, only cards printed in actual sets since 8th edition are legal in Modern. Junk Diver was printed in Urza's Destiny, which was before 8th Ed. The Commander 2014 'reprint' doesn't make it legal.
"Except for also being an artifact, Phyrexian Metamorph copies exactly what was printed on the original permanent and nothing more (unless that creature is itself copying something or is a token; see below). It doesn't copy whether that permanent is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras attached to it, or any noncopy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, and so on."So, Phyrexian Metamoph copying either Darksteel will be a copy of them and be indestructible, but won't be a creature, let alone a 5/5 (unless you enchant it with another Ensoul Artifact later) as the Metamoph only copies what printed on the actual card.
Through extra draw is less of a win condition and more about guaranteeing you having a fog in hand.
No Impact Tremors? With all those saps entering the battlefield, the damage Impact Tremors can do is awesome.Purphoros, God of the Forge does the same, just for more damage per trigger. Outpost Siege (calling Dragons) does similar, just for when they die instead of entering the battlefield.
You're missing the biggest part of Turbo Fog: draw. I've crippled Turbo Fog more often than not after Sideboarding in hate for the draw. It relies on the draw to guarantee Fogs in hand.
If you can suspend 3 Chronomantic Escape on 3 separate turns, no one will be able to attack you ever again :PI personally prefer Ethereal Haze over Holy Day. They both cost {W}, but Haze can stop creature damage outside of combat. For a non budget answer to the shuffle back effects: Surgical Extraction. 2 life to get rid of it permanently is worth it, though they'll still get the shuffle back effect once.
