Well I know the work that goes into brewing a monster EDH deck so you're definitely welcome, dude. I certainly am enjoying it! So much so I'm trying to amp up my other EDH decks just so they can compete with it, ha.

Like I said, I think relying on Birthing Pod as even a main plan is too unstable. Sure, it's great as an addition to the deck and it's good to know what you can grab with it when it's out but otherwise the cards in your deck should be geared toward a strategy which compliments Mimeoplasm. As far as cards to take out for your artifact mana rampers, I'd suggest removing the mana sorcery spells and replacing them with artifacts just because they're serving the same purpose anyway and then perhaps a couple of the 5-8 mana cost spells that don't work quite as well with the deck? I've noticed quite a few hands with big things and the inability to play them in a timely manner, so the way to fix that is a little less big things, right? I feel like the mana curve could use a slightly bigger pool in the 1-3 mana cost range to flow better.
Yeah, your's was one of the decks I used for inspiration. I don't have the wallet girth to build a deck quite as strong as that one, but I think I did an admirable job nonetheless considering this one tears it up as well.
First of all, I love The Mimeoplasm and have been contemplating building an EDH deck around him for quite some time, so awesome selection. While I definitely like Birthing Pod in this deck as a complementary piece, obviously the deck's strategy should revolve around your commander, The Mimeoplasm, and not a one-of artifact in the deck. It doesn't seem to but I know it could use better focus on Mimeoplasm's awesomeness. Also, I looked at a dozen-or-so sample hands and didn't seem to have the mana half the time to make this deck run smoothly. If I were building the deck, I would make green the most prominent color to lay a mana-ramp base, followed by black cards to pull off graveyard tricks. And blue should obviously have the smallest prescence, like it does here. In addition to the mana-ramp thing, I'm starting to buy into the strategy of having five-or-more artifact mana dorks in each of my EDH decks as well. Doesn't hurt to have the advantage, after all. Hope this all helps!
You're right, I really should go with Oracle of Mul Daya instead. I just threw Courser of Kruphix in as a better 3-drop than Farhaven Elf, but Oracle is worth the one extra mana. No way in hell am I taking Consecrated Sphinx out. Sure, when he hits the board everybody wants one, but they need to be able to do it first. More times than not they can't copy in time for me to have used that card advantage to fuck them over already. I appreciate the comment and suggestions!
Captivating Vampire's a beast. Got a Japanese version of him for my Olivia EDH deck :D
Gimmicky. Me-sa likey.
I wish I played Modern so I could play this. Looks tasty.
Cool deck. I really like the concept. You're on the right track but this deck could be much more efficient. Here are my suggestions. Remove all: Hedron Matrix Inquistor's Flail Alpha Authority Blanchwood Armor Autumn's Veil All of the cards above are extremely situational and provide a very narrow scope to the deck. That leaves space for 17 cards in the deck. Add: 2x Forest (needs a little more land for the curve) 3x Lightning Greaves (this allows you to protect your guys which I noticed is important to you and it makes sense. Also, haste is beautiful) 4x Nature's Lore (Ramp, ramp, ramp. And thins out your deck.) 3x Green Sun's Zenith (More tutor please.) 2x Primeval Titan (Why only focus on Worldspine Wurm? The Hulk hits the board hard and could help you cast Worldspine Wurm in case you ever need to) 3x Beast Within (Helps you deal with any BS your opponent's throw your way) Another card that would be awesome in this deck is Survival of the Fittest, but it's a spendy one so if it's not in your budget, Fauna Shaman is a good poor-man's version of that card. Hope all this helps!
The correct response if someone playing this deck beats you: "Thanks, Obama."
Since I liked a lot of your reasoning for the cards you suggested, I want to ask you this one, bakaburger: Sanguine Bond or Painful Quandary?
Oh shite, so it does! Yeah, I'm gonna have to at least get one now and see about putting it in. Thanks!
I didn't think to put Basilisk Collar in. I'll keep that one on the back burner, if I see that these creatures could use more of a punch I'll throw it in. Thanks for the suggestion!
I like some of your suggestions and yeah, some are way too expensive for me to even consider, ha. I've never been a big believer in the 800-mana-boosting-artifacts trend in EDH because I usually put enough land in my decks to make up for it and I get pissed off when I end up stranded with those cards up the wazoo. I absolutely understand the logic behind it but it's just not my bag unless I feel I really need it. I have Phyrexian Arena in for card draw and Toxic Deluge and Massacre Wurm for mass removal but yes, more card draw and reanimate would add more variety. I like both Phyrexian Reclimation and Oversold Cemetary so I'll consider those. I might add a Black Sun's for more removal. Basically I was trying to get away with less of those cards by compensating with deck-search cards to whip up whatever I need but I'm sure I'll probably find the need to stuff a couple more of each of those non-creature spells in the deck. We'll see once I get the chance to see this deck in action in a couple weeks! I appreciate your suggestions and taking the time to help me out!
Depends on what you have in mind, man.
Despise instead of Distress, easier on the mana curve and more practical for creature-crushing purposes. Otherwise, I like it, it looks nasty.
Well, I never said take out Vault of the Archangel for Evolving Wilds! Personally I'd find room for at least two as you had before. I've seen that card save numerous token decks from defeat. You are running at 40% land with tokens anyway, so it really shouldn't be detrimental to the game flow of the deck to scrap a couple basic lands for one of the best land cards currently in standard.
Good revisions, it looks a whole lot sexier than it did before. Most sample hands look killer, the only occasional problem I see has to do with land, occasionally missing a black mana in a hand and/or draw with an otherwise great hand. Perhaps a couple of Evolving Wilds, to help thin out the deck whilst fetching you the land you need would be good to consider. I've come to respect that card as of late. Otherwise, yeah, this is a great deck, my man. I hope you kill with it come tourney time this week! Here are two other token builds I've played with in this block if you're interested in more token build ideas, both of which performed exceptionally well in tourney play: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=309766 http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=312856
Yeah, and I'm not really surprised, since decks similar to this one these days tend to perform better when some control has their back. Not that aggro can't do it alone, but in standard right now there are a lot of spells that mess up aggro decks pretty well. That's why lately I've been trying to build more flexible aggro decks that are resilient to the slew of creature-crushing shaninigans standard currently has at its disposal.
This looks pretty good, I dig the build, very aggro-heavy. I think the best way for this sort of deck to run, though, is through a more control-oriented, mid-range win strategy. I absolutely love the synergy you've built for Bloodline Keeper, so much that you inspired me to make this deck (I hate to be one of those billboard douches, but at least this one is relevant to yours, considering it's my take on a deck like this!): http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=326122 I'd appreciate your feedback, mandingo. I'm thinking of running this at FNM this week. Thank you for finally giving me a reason to dust off those gorgeous Bloodline Keepers!
