I worry about your mana base, trust me, those snake dudes can only fix so much. Other than that.. I think Primal Rage and Rancor are a bit much, I'd go one or the other. Free up a 3 slot or even a 2 slot and one land, as laughable as that is to suggest. Things you could replace it with... well that list is gigantic, you could do all sorts of $#![ with this setup. Go for the safe play and grab a kind of naturalize, become Norin buddies with me, impact tremors, nightbird's clutches.. nobody ever expects the clutches. I'd probably grab something that helps me trip up somebody's combos. You're getting tunnel vision on the jack effect. It's exciting I know, but bites me in the ass all the time. Don't repeat my mistakes.

I get that the steel wall is for your metalcraft, but I feel like there's something that would fit that slot so much better.. Kaijin of the Vanishing Touch, maybe a skeletal wall, that new one Consulate Skygate or even a Haunted Guardian. 0/4 with no abilities just seems like a waste. But I am that guy who feels like if a 1 cost permanent is gonna make the cut it better be goddamn special. Like a Rusalka. Or Norin, or Basking Rootwalla. Ok. /step off soapbox.
Neurok transmuter is cool for this, but if it were me, I'd be running Myr Landshaper instead. You could cripple an opponent that way. Plus it's also an artifact. Granted, it's a 1/1 instead of 2/2, but for me the extra bonuses I'd get from it balance out the power loss.
I find that offensive. Also, screw the vessel. You're paying 5 for 2 spirits. If you're not specifically going for delirium, it is easily replaced by a cheaper spell version. You're basically paying 3 more for flash.
If you're gonna focus more on the Goblin token generation, (krenko, fodder, k's command etc) You'd probably be really interested in Voracious Dragon.I run those dragons in my goblin deck, and many times just shoot them in the face for the win.
I can definitely agree on picking decks before roles are chosen, there's just too many ways to take advantage of the 5 turn leeway and extra life component. Felidar Sovereign immediately comes to mind. I'll run it by the guys, I could definitely see us playing this in the future. One clarification though; I assume when the traitor flips he chooses one of those 3 options, not all 3 of them.
I'm not familiar with French emperor, but pentagram we play every now and again. Usually it's a group of 4 or 6 though. Spheres of influence is another format that gets a decent amount of play from us.
You would think, but most of the time I'm second on the priority list when it hits the field. Use my furnace to take down the biggest threat, then turn to me. That being said, I'm really considering taking it out anyway, it's just becoming too Wombo Combo for my tastes.
Children of the Korn.. I haven't seen those since I ran them in my old Haakon deck with Ashes of the fallen. From what I understand it was quite annoying. One shot me, or nothing.Interesting take on Darien, I do agree with the Hokey Pokey knight, Fateful Hour could be a godsend in this. Actually making me reconsider some of the choices in my Darien for Fateful hour stuff. Most intriguing. Especially since I've running 4 Precinct Captains that I don't really like in there.. hmm.. yea I'm gonna go tinker now.http://www.mtgvault.com/themoc/decks/darien/
This. Yes. Always fun to be had with NDE. I personally like the Orim's Thunder, nice to have a response to someone blasting your NDE, especially since you know it'll happen at least once. I would recommend Worship, but then again that's counterintuitive to your BA section of the deck. So with that said, kudos. I can't imagine making any recommendations that wouldn't completely alter the playstyle.
My meta has a pretty balanced player base, some spikes, some Swiss, some Timmy's, but mostly it's the blind siding, and blood feuding that keeps it going. By the froggy comment, I mean if you just start blasting people out the gate you need to be prepared for the rest of the table to gang up on you. A lot of us are at the mindset of "deal with the problem early before it gets out of hand". Because of this, political alliances crop up pretty much every game. So usually with 6 players, it turns into 2v2v2, we just don't start the game with preset alliances. I will acknowledge the fact that this type of format is probably not common, and I can't really imagine it working without the particular group I play with. The bonus effect to this playstyle, is that none of us are really dead set on winning every game. Obviously it's the goal, but not necessarily the only way to "win". With a deck like this one for example, I just get off on being the major threat, and if I've gained enough of the hate and they've shut me down collectively, I consider it a win, and go smoke a cigarette while they clean up the scraps. As for Furnace, it's just great to watch the chaos unfold. Especially after the first time it went off, and they realize that a Shivan Meteor or Blasphemous Act means 52 damage to someone's face if I have a single spitemare on the field is just fantastic. Blind Fury is just my way of dealing with Trample, as it's very common in my meta.I will definitely look into some nonbasics; the deck is relatively new and I hadn't decided what to put in yet, but strip mine seems like a good time. Admittedly I'm not a heavy artifact player, they're something I almost always overlook while theory crafting my next beast. But some modicum of prevention definitely seems to be in my best interest, you'd be surprised how many times this thing has turned a 4 man game into a 4 way draw..
Not necessarily for this deck, as I'm starting to realize this is more of an intellectual exercise rather than something you intend to field. Fury Shields are absolutely fantastic, I have actually cast all 4 on one turn to save my bacon against a friend's Repercussions-based deck. After many turns of a standoff, I ended up pulling all 4, and the land to use them. Personally, I would've rather taken a disenchant somewhere in there, but it just wasn't in the cards I guess. By the time he dropped his Personal Sanctuary and swung for the fences I blasted him with all 4 of them, doing just enough damage to kill him.. I think it was something like 18 damage to his 17 life.
Have you thought of a redirect defensive strat? You're a multiplayer guy like I am, I'm sure your group runs heavy in the removal department. Also, Blind Fury is always fantastic when stuffy/spitemare/reckoners are involved.I built a hate machine for multiplayer revolving around the reckoners you may be interested in. http://www.mtgvault.com/themoc/decks/firestorm/
Man you're enchantment heavy.. remind me to run Tranquility in some of my decks..Honestly though, I'd totally play 2 more lingering spirits, and lose the two Vessel of Ephemera. With the enchantment, you're basically playing 2 spirits for 5 mana. Whereas for the same amount, you can play Lingering Souls, AND flashback it, getting 4 spirits in total.
With so few creatures in the deck, I gotta wonder about the Scorched Rusalka being in there.. Anything that has you sac creatures which only 10 in the deck is really suspect. Another suspect is that Ebony Owl Netsuke.. You really only have the howling mine that makes people draw cards, so unless they're mana screwed, I don't know how much play you're gonna get out of that thing.
The izzet storm mechanic is a flagship deck for one of my kitchen table buddies, so I didn't want to steal his thunder and go U/R.. that's really the only reason this thing isn't a dual color. Manamorphose is definitely something I'd like to invest in, I'd replace those tormenting voices in a heartbeat. Alas, I'm building on a budget, but eventually I'll pick those up. Thanks for the feedback though.
What the fuck man? Why do we think about similar decks at similar times. I'm putting together something similar at the moment.. But I think it'll be different enough to warrant creation anyway, unlike the brigid fiasco.
Why doom blade though? I feel some more infect/wither creatures in that slot would serve you better.
Polymorph abuse is always a favorite of mine, between scry and magus of the future it gets stupid fun. Here's one of my takes on that particular magic genre. http://www.mtgvault.com/themoc/decks/undying-polymorph/
Well damn. Hardened Scales tended to screw me over more often than help me, so that's out. Lumberknot was removed for Elusive Krasis, and now I'm second guessing that particular move. My big problem seems to be flying, so I'm thinking about losing a strangleroot and a young wolf for a couple stormbound geists.. and maybe switching the elusives out for the horizon chimeras. Give and take always seems to be a meh play.. so I gotta find something better for those slots. Whatchu guys think?
