Thanks for the feedback. I like slagstorm because it does an additional damage and it's rarely dead- even if there are no creatures to nuke it's another source of burn vs. the opposing player. I will experiment with pyroclasm to see if it's smoother, though. As far as Revoke Existence is concerned, I can get white mana from my Spheres and no one ever stops to consider a Revoke coming from a mono red deck... so people don't even think to keep my Spheres off the board until it's too late. It's been working well for me so far! The Karns are fricking awesome. Thanks to Sphere and Koth you can hit 7 mana very quickly and usually once Karn's on the table it's gg. Metamorph is an awesome SB idea and as soon as I can trade for some I will be adding them for sure!!

Why is the Ornithopter in there? Just curious.
You need the tectonics for valakut. I would drop one sphere for one stoneforge to increase chances of blade combo early draw. Gideon > Inferno because he dodges more removal and has 3 abilities instead of 1. Besides that I think it's pretty good as is. Frank Lepore has a regular column for a reason.
It's got all the good stuff. I like it!
Ok, -1 Tempered Steel, -1 Celestial Colonnade, +2 Gideon. I thought about it and I really like the idea of Gideon using his + ability and then Venser bouncing him to recharge after he blows up a creature on the next turn.
You cannot replicate gideon as he is legendary. As soon as a copy appeared they would all go to the graveyard. He could be a decent SB option vs. control decks. I will think about adding him. Thank you for your input.
Wow! This is really similar to my Precursor/Venser deck. Check it out at: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=169135. I would suggest no more than 3 golems, as they are a dead draw early game. Also, why do you have squadron hawks but no stoneforge mystic or swords?
oh just scrapped the idea. wish there was a way to delete decks on here...
Soul manipulation helps to bring back creatures that got nuked :) I like having some blockers. Also I like the look of disgust on my opponent's face when they have to mill from being attacked by nemesis. If nothing else it forces my opponent to tap mana and play a spell to deal with them. Maybe if I switched to Esper colors I could afford to go creatureless...
Can't figure out what else to SB...
I like this take on the deck but why only 2 brokens and 3 cryptics? And since you have no blockers will you have enough creature removal to survive until you can finish milling?
Gellatong is a nice guy and will rebuild your decks, which is a great way to get some fresh ideas on how to accomplish whatever win condition you are going for. You also may want to gain perspective by looking at other U/B mill decks. If you are interested I created one recently that I have been playing a lot. I have found that it poops in people's tubas for the most part :) http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=26820
I have always wanted to see an effective warp world build. I like it!
Thanks for making your own version of this deck! I like the cards you've chosen. A few questions: City of Brass? Why no Grixis lands? How do you plan on fetching your one-of Nicol Bolas? And as far as the Energy Vampire deck goes, my plan was to make a mono-black deck that could use Sanguine Bond, Tainted Sigil, and Corrupt to one-shot kill my opponent, but I was super retarded and didn't realize that Tainted Sigil was black and WHITE. So then I decided to scrap the deck and make a black/white sanguine bond deck (which I haven't posted on here yet). But after watching the Zendikar spoilers that have come out so far, I am thinking an Esper colored vampire tribe deck will be the best home for sanguine bond. So, long story short, don't worry about making your own version of that one just yet :) I will give it another shot after Zendikar comes out.
Ooh! Missed broken. Thanks for pointing that out. I am hoping that this deck will suck less when Zendikar comes out. Thankfully I think 5cc will be largely done for at that time.
Thought I would check out some of your decks. I really like this one! I wish I knew more about Extended/Legacy :( Edgewalker is a bad ass card.
One further note about Thoughtseize- once artifacts and enchantments are on the board, I have no way to deal with them. I also have no way to directly counter spells, unless it's game 2 vs. control and I have sideboarded in my Gutturals. For these reasons Thoughtseize is essential as is it basically a pre-counter for those spells that I have no other way to deal with.
Thoughtseize- I think that paying 1 mana and 2 life to be able to see the opponent's hand on the first turn and devise a plan to counter whatever it is that I learn their deck does is worth it by itself. The ability to force them to discard a card is simply an added bonus, and a great one at that. My only other option on turn 1 is to lightning bolt whatever weenie creature my opponent has summoned, which is fine, but it gives me far less information about their deck. Therefor I continue to contend that thoughtseize is a very viable choice for this deck. Puncture Blast- A few things here: First, none of the spells you suggested as replacements are Type II legal (except doom blade, and I am already running terminate). Second, I disagree with you about the viability of wither. Neither black nor red have 'exile' spot removal (except for Unmake, but that's three black in this deck and there's no guarantee that I would always have 3 black mana on turn 3), so having a nuke with wither becomes a useful tool for dealing with kitchen finks, murderous redcaps, and beefy pro-black creatures (chameleon colossus). At least that's the way I see it. And as a side note, thank you very much for taking the time to look at my deck and engage in discourse with me regarding its contents! I appreciate the opportunity to talk shop with another dedicated player.
Could you please explain why looking at your opponent's hand on the first turn and removing their most essential card is a bad choice? And could you please illustrate why you feel puncture BLAST (not bolt) is an inferior nuke, as well as indicating what it is inferior to?
ooooooooooohhhh you mean the part where it's black and WHITE to cast? yeah I am retarded. extra, extra retarded.
