Excellent point. I had completely overlooked the shroud thing. Replacing Bairn and Ascetic!

Oh and I made a black&white deck that I have been using recently, it's done pretty well for me. If you want to check it out it's here: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=23348

I would not suggest playing the mimic or the hatchling or any other cards that require red&blue spells to activate unless less you intend for 90%+ of the spells in your deck to be red&blue spells. Those trigger cards are only effective if you can reliably activate them every turn. Otherwise they are dead weight and you will find yourself slapping your forehead and wishing you didn't have that counter in your hand. I would suggest allowing yourself maybe 8 total spells (maybe 4 red and 4 blue?) in the deck that aren't both colors. I also strongly feel that Crackleburr is your best friend here. He wins games. Also, I agree with thealextheory about adding Crag Puca. He is a versatile little bastard. And how about Dominus of Fealty as a two-of? Good for keeping you competitive late game and giving your opponent a threat they prioritize over you, which can buy you some time. How about Inside Out? It cantrips if nothing else and can take your opponent by surprise to boot. For your four blue only spells I would suggest Cryptic Command.

I actually had the moth in there originally and after playtesting decided that I liked the warden better. But thank you!

Another killer deck man. Really, really like this one. The token gen is fierce and the overrun is terrifying. Just curious: what do you do vs. strong control (i.e. black/blue discard/counter etc.)?

Thanks a bunch, man! I will take it to the PTQ in Michigan if I am still in town when the next one happens, but I am planning on teaching English in Shanghai, China for a year starting this fall so we'll have to see, haha!

Actually after some review I decided to focus on the whole discard thing. Gonna build it and try it out this week.

I would drop a pyroclasm for a full playset of tarfires, and then I would replace the tarfires with magma sprays. The RFG is huge, especially when dealing with persist creatures and Reveillark decks. This deck is looking nasty! The synergy of spitemare-fallout/pyroclasm is sweet! I went ahead and updated my red deck for 2010 as well. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=22412 if you're interested :)

I like magma spray because it exiles creatures, which I find useful for those pesky kitchen finks/murderous redcaps, etc. Fireball is awesome but it's a pretty mana-intensive spell and I don't think that I can use it to its full potential in this deck. For the same mana reasons, I feel that it's not viable to have more than two banefires, and also because I only expect to cast 0-1 banefire per game anyway. I also hope that zendikar brings some solid replacement creatures. I will miss my demigods terribly :(

I have a friend who plays a very similar deck to this, except he uses worm harvest and lots of lands to generate additional tokens. Creakwood liege is a bastard.

too many two-ofs imo... you may have a hard time drawing the cards you need when you need them. if I were you I would sideboard the hedge-mage, lose the mine-captain, lose the hatchling, lose the hateflayer (who should be used in B/R with necroskitter and cinders anyway), sideboard the stigma lasher, lose the hobgoblin dragoon, go to four hearthfire hobgoblins, four figures of destiny, lose the battlegate mimic, lose the fiery bombardment, go to four rise of the hobgoblins, lose double cleave, replace fire at will with spectral procession, go to 22-24 lands, and get some control in there... o rings, celestial purge for sideboard, maybe some lightning bolts/pyroclasms, etc. I like red/white, though. glad you made this deck. i've een wanting to make my own R/W deck for a while now!

it's absolutely amazing. even if it doesn't get there every turn it's a major threat on the board that will buy you time.

I don't understand all these decks with one-ofs that aren't highlander format?

This deck is sweet. I think it all comes down to personal preference beyond a certain point. I made an extremely similar deck that I intend to play next week: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=19748 I like that chaotic backlash in the sideboard. I have always just focused on hosing blue in SB but that's something I am thinking about changing now.
