nice deck. probably the first deck i've seen where i can actually understand why you'd use Dread Return. There's only one thing i don't understand: What are the Artisans of Kozilek for? If I'm not mistaken, their ability won't resolve when you reanimate them and i highly doubt you want to wait till you've got 9 mana to play them?! how about Blazing Archon instead? (probably even It that betrays, as it's a really nice combo with Sheoldred)

yeah it was suggested several times already. it'd obviously be great in here, though i havent had the time to redo the deck after all the suggestions so far and there are several other decks based on this one using leveler already - anyhow as soon as i've got the time (and will) to redo this i will definitely add them
yeah i thought about them, though they seem to be too slow compared to e.g. Demonic Consultation
ok i can see how utopia vow and puresight merrow is gonna work but what are you doing with paradise plume? that's an normal artifact not an equipment, so it only allows to tap itself not puresight merrow!?
that looks quite nice. in fact i thought about Standstill as well when i was creating mine and so i had to smile a lot seeing you've used it. i finally decided against it though because i'm afraid time is working against you in most situations as you don't have any creatures/artifacts Brainstorm and Ponder are definitely an idea to speed your game up! i may run some tests with such cards
-4 Trade Secrets -4 Tainted Pact +1 Vampiric Tutor +1 Demonic Tutor +1 Mystical Tutor +1 Imperial Seal (tried to stay vintage legal on the tutors) +2 Force of Will +2 Gitaxian Probe also added sideboard: counters vs extraction decks personal tutors to get doomsday/reanimate
yeah i'm afraid Majician is right about the drawing. in addition mana severance works quite well on it's own whereas Treasure Hunt only works well in combination with Selective Memory tutors are indeed an idea, gosh i think i made this deck around 3am...
yeah just to be clear: you don't win right away but in the beginning of your next turn because that's when you have to draw a card and your entire library was exiled the turn before
how about Viashino Heretic? I love this guy! though i think you might need more card draw / tutoring as you are depending on Liquimetal Coating. how about Browbeat and/or Harmonize?
that's a great idea, haven't even seen that as i intended to get Laboratory Maniac with it... I'm not sure whether that'd work, but as there is a ruling "10/4/2004: You must name a card that actually exists in the game of Magic." i take from that you don't need to name a card in your deck (as long as it exists)!?
uh i like that, especially Grid Monitor! as you're already playing blue what about Illusions of Grandeur? i've made a deck like this a couple of weeks ago and i love Bazaar Trader + Illusions of Grandeur: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=218370
that's a really impressive deck! have you considered Sol Ring or Latulla, Keldon Overseer?
i don't think you can. sacrifing is nothing you target but something you do with a permanent (like paying costs i guess), so you won't be able to choose the same permanent for two different sacrifice-abilities because will already be "used" by the first one ... i guess what i'm trying to say is i don't think sacrifing goes on the stack, so the creature is immediately gone as soon as you sacrifice it and by the time you can use the second sacrifice-ability there is no creature anymore to sacrifice
wow indeed
well is there anything that targets yourself? otherwise the difference between shroud and hexproof shouldn't really matter - the latter is obviously a valid argument and i can see why you keep both in there
sorry Braid of Fire wouldnt help, just realised that the mana pool will be cleared before you main phase and hence you wont be able to use it for playing your creatures
it's quite a nice tribal deck, though it seems only playable in multiplayer because it's so slow generally Thundering Giant, Giant Harbinger and Giant's Ire seem too expensive to me, so they'd probably be the cards i'd try to exchange with cards like Pyretic Ritual or Seething Song, Mana Flare or Braid of Fire you might exchange Shiv's Embrance with Gravity Sphere, Chaosphere or Earthbind as Shiv's Embrance is also quite expensive and you don't really need the +2/+2 finally a much bigger problem than flying seems to me that you'll be outnumbered by most other creature based decks and will not be able to block all creatures attacking you
i'm sorry to break that to you but Boldwyr Heavyweights only allow your opponents to search for a creature and bring in into play - but not you! hence, the only way you can use it to bring Ulamog into play is if you bring Boldwyr Heavyweights into play under your opponent's control
you've got so many cards that boost your creature count with Goblin tokens so why don't you take advantage of that? exchange Tarfire with Goblin War Strike
the mono black one was already nice but this one is awesome
