Looks like a fun deck. However there are way more good pump spells than Phytoburst. Battlegrowth is just kinda bad, there are way better options. Here is a Bear deck I put together that uses all the bears without abilities if you are interested.Bearshttp://www.mtgvault.com/mursh/decks/bears/Take out the Catacombs and the Jitte and it isn't that expensive of a deck except Sylvan Library. Good luck with the deck!

Is this a legacy legal deck that you play against more casual decks or is this something you want to go up against tournament legacy decks? If you are playing against all legacy decks then I have a few suggestions for you.Your sideboard. It is largely more of the same. Usually if a strategy isn't working out you don't want to increase its numbers next game. I suggest a sideboard that is full of answers to potential problems that you really must deal with. If you weren't fast enough to burn them out on game 1, then you probably need to slow them down game 2. This is because burn simply can not win in less than 3 turns and is usually a turn 4-6 deck. Here is the sideboard I am using right now. 3xFaerie Macabre - Uncounterable Graveyard based deck hate3xPyrostatic Pillar - Combo/storm, Zombardment and mirror hate3xChaos Warp - cheap answer to Leyline of Sanctity, fatty/problem removal2xPyroblast - blue hate. Jace, Show and Tell, merfolk, ect1xRed Elemental Blast - see above3xShattering Spree - multi-artifact hate. aether vial, swords, jitte, affinity, ect.I like and dislike some of your board choices. Ball lightning just isn't good in legacy, there are far too many instant speed removal for a 3 mana cost card in burn. it also can be blocked easily enough. Spark Elemental is underwhelming.I like sudden shock but i think volcanic fallout is way better and don't think you need both. Life gain isn't that rampant in legacy, If you run sulfuric Vortex then i don't think you need skullcrackI like magma jet but have ultimately taken mine out. I think faithless looting is great only if you are going to run Grim Lavamancer. Otherwise i would run 1-2 max.Cards you should run.Chain lightning is a must play card for legacy burn/rdwLava Spike can only hit the player but is too efficient not to play. This is a efficiency based deck after all. Fireblast is a must play. It is the ultimate game winner for burn and makes a turn 3 mathematically possible. A free burn spell to play when you have tapped out!Price of Progress wrecks most legacy decksGoblin Guide will do more damage than almost any other single card and is an important repeatable damage source for the deck. It also lets you see what your opponent is going to draw most of the time.I like Keldon Marauders. At its worst you deal 2 damage and get a blocker. At its best you deal 5 damage for 2 mana. Flame Rift is painful but is necessary to get them within fireblast range by turn 3 or 4.Grim lavamancer is a good card as repeatable damage or select target damage. works best with fetch lands to fuel it and works well with faithless looting. I love hellspark elemental for his card advantage and ability to surprise opponents who have forgotten he is in your graveyard. Here is the current version I am playing if you are interested:http://www.mtgvault.com/mursh/decks/rdw-legacy-20/Hope some of that info helps and good luck with your deck!
Since all your elementals self destruct championing one to nova chaser seems iffy. I think you should run Mimic Vat in its place, that will keep you from running out of steam after you have played out your hand. When you are top decking, playing 1 creature per turn is going to be painful but with mimic vat you can do 2 per turn at that point. Also you will have no blocking power so you need another way to defend yourself. Since you run white you could consider Ghostly Prison. Also i think Meekstone works pretty well with this deck and is a good way to keep bigger creatures from doing too much damaged. good luck with the deck!
looks like a lot of fun, Lifeforce is a pretty neat card with the deck. However since grindstone is part of a win condition it may work better to up it to 3 or 4.Here is a deck i built a while back with the same plan except it is more small creature based.Knights in Black: http://www.mtgvault.com/mursh/decks/knights-in-black/Good luck with your deck.
Looks very fun to play, I have a few simple suggestions I feel will help a lot.Cut 2 Lurking Predators to get down to 60 cards. All you cards cost mostly colorless to cast so you should try a post mana ramp.Cut down to 7 plains and 7 forest and add 4 Cloudpost and 4 Glimmerpost.Good luck with the deck!
Hi there! I just made a cleric deck that has been really fun to play. I'll link to it at the end so you can check it out if interested. Either way I have some suggestions for this deck. I know you just kinda threw this together but you need a clearer direction and to cut a few cards that are just too weak. Mother of Runes is the best cleric and probably the best white 1 drop in the game. Protection is better than life prevention.Starlit Sanctum could be a good way to trigger morbid.Hallowed Healer is a bad card, cut it in favor of more of just about any other card in the deck.Ghostly Prison seems way better than Sphere of Safety.Academy Rector is a great (but expensive) enchantment fetcher and can be a win condition with Test of Endurance. Mirror Entity can be a powerful pumper for mid and late game. He will also effectively be a cleric in play or for Patriarch's Bidding.Beloved Chaplain is nice.It may not fit this deck but Dark Supplicant and Scion of Darkness are a fun cleric trick.Good luck with the deck!Mursh's Semi-Competitive Legacy Clerics:http://www.mtgvault.com/mursh/decks/lifecleric/
I like this deck a lot, especially your use of creature tokens to gain more life or agro with. You do you need to cut it to 60 at all costs. Also Bargain is the only card in here that is an instant cut. Check out the semi-legacy deck Soul Sisters for a deck similar to this one.Cards to consider are: Survival Cache, Academy Rector, Ensnaring Bridge, Ghostly Prison, Martyr of Sands, Spectral Procession, Swords to Plowshares, Ajani's Pridemate and Proclamation of Rebirth. Here is a Cleric lifegain deck I am running if you are interested. http://www.mtgvault.com/mursh/decks/lifecleric/Good luck with the deck!
you forgot the best solider! Preeminent Captain! add 4!Drop War Falcon, Bonds of faith, Captain's Call, Moment of Silence, Righteousness, and Spare from Evil. That will bring you 60 cards and with 4 preeminent captains you will be getting out soliders like crazy. He also works great with Captain of the Watch and Crusader of Odric.Good luck with the deck!
fun deck! what turn can this win on? Take a look at the deck "EGGS". It uses Maniac as a secondary win condition. http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=408447
nice deck! here are 2 powerful kithkin builds i put together http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=225624 http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=137065
This looks like a fun deck but its no where near legacy. Mill is my favorite win condition but unfortunately it has a lot of problems and pure mill is not legacy competitive yet. I am really hoping that in the next set the Dimir will have some awesome mill card that makes it competitive but so far its not quite there. Mill has the problem that it doesn't effect the board and falls to aggro easily, it also fall to combo because it lacks disruption. Also mill has to worry about reshuffle effects and decks that actually want to fill their graveyard with cards. If you want to win by mill in legacy you will need to go with some type of combo deck. My 2 favorite combo mill decks are Painter's Servant / Grindstone combo and Helm of Obedience / Rest in Peace (or Leyline of the Void) Combo. Both decks can consistently and completely mill in 1 to 3 turns. This is about as close to a true legacy mill that I have came up with and its still lacking. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=416661 I think Riddlekeeper is the card you are looking for. I also recommend Propaganda and Surgical Extraction for mill decks. Propaganda provides much more protection than Fog Bank in the long run and its an enchantment so its harder to deal with. Hedron Crab can also do a lot of mill if you are running fetch lands or lands that can bounce them self like Oboro, Palace in the Clouds. Good luck with your deck! Mill is a lot of fun even if it isn't quite tournament quality yet. Bonus here are the 2 combo mill decks I spoke of. Painters/Grindstone http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=314535 Helm/RIP http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=392732
Kithkin are actually a pretty fun deck to play. Instead of Amrou Kithkin run Mistmeadow Skulk. He is the same with lifelink and easier to cast. Also I agree that honor of the Pure should replace Glorious Anthem. Also removal like swords to plowshare or path to exile will be much more useful than Surge of Thoughtweft. Here is my best Kithkin attempt if you're interested. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=225624 Good luck with the deck!
- 2 ruby medallion - 2 Cryptborn Horror +4 Goblin Guide - 3 Quest for Pure Flame +3 Fireblast
This is very similar to the soul sisters deck, they run Ajani's Pridemate Martyr of Sands Mother of Runes Ranger of Eos Stoneforge Mystic Swords to Plowshares Proclamation of Rebirth Sword of Light and Shadow Batterskull Umezawa's Jitte Spectral Procession Looks like a very fun deck the way it is but you may get some ideals from those cards too. Good luck with the deck!
Awesome deck, I love Melira, its a fun combo. Maybe one day it will get a card that drives it over the top. Sadly Devoted Druid does not work. Putting a -1/-1 counter on it is required in order to untap it and since melira prevents that you can not untap it. I know, total bummer. Here is a link to my try at a Legacy Melira deck if you would like to check it out. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=393637 Good luck with the deck!
You are well on your way to having a fierce Merfolk deck. Especially after you get your sideboard put in, which I am assuming is your wishlist. Try out a few Mishra's Factory in place of mutavault for a cheap substitute for the time being, a colorless creature can be surprisingly useful. Here is my current build I am playing and it has been running like a well oiled machine. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=320093 I rarely bother with sideboarding because it has so many answers right in the deck. This dismembers are painful but are very needed, I suggest trying them out. Umezawa's Jitte just straight up wins games and keeps other creatures in check and the board clear for attack. Standstill is so good with Æther Vial on the table because you can keep vialing creatures out for free without triggering it, which forces your opponent to let you refill your hand. Phantasmal Image are awesome because they can be anything you need it to be and it can be vialed out easily. Its a great answer for any legendary creatures your opponent may play and he can instantly be another lord if you need some extra damage. There is a few show and tell decks in my meta and phantasmal image is a great answer to emurkal. Merfolk has draw, counter and fast aggro which makes it one of my favorite decks to play against any kind of deck. Good luck with your deck!
You forgot to add in seat of synod and Darksteel Citadel. I also like running a few Inkmoth Nexus or Blinkmoth Nexus or Mishra's Factory. have fun with the deck!
After looking over a few decks I think this covers most Permanents: Æther Vial Sensei's Divining Noble Hierarch Grim Lavamancer Pithing Needle Grafdigger's Cage Veteran Explorer Weathered Wayfarer Cursed Scroll Signal Pest Cursecatcher Goblin Welder Goblin Lackey Goblin Guide Springleaf Drum Delver of Secrets Nimble Mongoose Putrid Imp Spells: Swords to Plowshares Brainstorm Enlightened Tutor Orim's Chant Inquisition of Kozilek Spell Pierce Faithless Looting Cabal Therapy Entomb Diabolic Intent Glimpse of Nature Red Elemental Blast Spell Snare Darkblast Path to Exile Chain Lightning Lava Spike Dark Ritual Tragic Slip Surgical Extraction Stifle Forked Bolt
I know where you are coming from, running out of steam is RDW/Burns biggest problem. But truly other than a 1 shot 6 or less damage for 3, ball lightning doesn't really add much steam. I would rather play Vexing devil if you want to keep your creature count up,, because he is either 4 guaranteed damage or a 4/3 that sticks around for repeat damage all for 1 mana. Also Grim Lavamancer and more fetch lands are great sources or repeat damage. Here is my current build that has been running very well for me. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=335052 Good luck with the deck!
I would take out Ball Lightning and Flametongue Kavu, they are slightly too slow for legacy IMO. Put in a few more direct damage like lava spike and Flame Rift.
