i'd swap out divination and council for mulldrifter and/or winged words if you need the "draw 2" spells. and some thoughts for the sideboard- hydroblast, relic of progenitus, dust to dust, oblivion ring, dispel

the current goblin combo decks in the meta run Flamewave invoker over torch so it can be tutored with matron, as well as a shred memory to find the other pieces if necessary. if the deck is trying to the combo first and foremost, you should definitely go 4 of on all of the combo pieces i think.
i actually thought rider was a great idea, because it can avoid it by going on an adventure- though obviously there will be times it gets discarded instead before it has the chance. Agree on the sideboard calls though. Don't need the doubles with Karn. He can cut the second crucible and coating and lattice and bring bridge and orb I think. Other than that- I love this list so +1. Seems real tight and thought out. Curious to hear about results some day actually!
no problem! and yeah the cost is steep as an aura. i thought it was mostly fun because i misread light paws- didn't realize you have to cast the aura, so i was thinking the high cmc would allow some hilarious chains.
Mono white heroic I'm already ok with I think (at least on paper- there's a lot of color protection in that deck and i run mostly colorless- though i haven't played against it yet though). And I just just think duress and the removal I have can deal with familiars. And I have pyroblast in the side. Not sure where I'd want to make room for it over those cards. My plan for the aggro decks is just to keep the board clean with the removal. I wouldn't want to trade it for combat tricks because I won't have creatures out in the early game. but definitely appreciate all the thoughts!
Love auras! Did you consider Eidolon of Countless Battles by any chance? It'd be at the top of your curve for sure, but you can play it as an 4 cost aura, and it almost functions as an extra copies ethereal armor here. +1
it's true but i still have to hold up mana for it- and again- if the purpose is to save a creature because of a misplay or to get a big attack- I can achieve the same result by essentially just playing another threat- which is going to be a better card in my hand in more scenarios. Or removal of my own- again same purpose. This deck just isn't built to take full advntage of a card like that. And sure there's probably some 0 power things in the meta like walls combo etc- but in that case it's a sideboard card, and there's more hateful hate/ or versatile hate i can play over it I think.
yeah, that's a situation it could be useful in, but if I'm fearing a bolt to begin with, I wouldn't be activating it. The only instances you activate it here is A: going unblocked and pumping for damage, or B: attempting to trade with something else. In A, if bolt is an issue, then I probably won't activate and just settle for the 2, and in B, I'm already ok with losing the creature. Using a spot for it doesn't feel good to me because as a "Save" I'm losing card advantage in either situation- and I'd probably either have that slot for another threat, or removal of my own. And in every other situation that doesn't involve it, and since the deck isn't really built for it, it's going to be a mostly dead card in most other situations so it's not really worth it here for me I think but I always appreciate the thoughts for more spice!
It really only hits Translator effectively and maw already does it on it's own so not really sure it's worth the include now but it's an interesting thought!
love the list! Only thing I'm not so sure of here is Era of Enlightenment? Seems weirdly clunky next to everything else. If its for the life gain and the extra body, wouldn't something like dawnbringer cleric be more direct? Seems more abuseable to me also with the sky fisher's, since it has more modes and is immediately a creature to crew with. +1 though
No problem!
I actually think this is a pretty efficient dollar per card value idea and i dig it. I i wouldn't get rid of the walkers personally (or not all of them). Maybe board them, they'd be good against certain matchups I think. They work really well with overseer, and if they get out of control, it forces your opponent to have non-death removal for them which can be hard in certain metas. I could be wrong about that though- I just like that card. You should playtest and see what works though. I think whats going to make or break you being able to win is a decent sideboard. Maybe run a single blast zone in the main in case? The war of the spark one is only 3 bucks i think still. I don't think you lose too much mana-wise but i could be wrong. For sideboard options, somethings to consider depending on ur meta- abraderelic of progenitus or tormod's crypt or some kind of graveyard hate (Whatever you can get/afford I guess). maybe throw the last stubborn denial or something similar (mystical dispute or something like dispel is probably better for the side though)you might want some kind of board clear for swarms or the like? Anger of the Gods, Kozileck's return, or if super budget, electrickery or fiery canonade? aether gustcleansing wildfire against tronThose are just some common not super expensive ideas. Good luck with it!
Sojourner's Companion is a strictly better Myr Enforcer. It was just printed in MH2. Deck looks fun though +1
thanks for the suggestions! Though I'm liking Merchant of the vale right now over those two as I can use it turn 1, and it's a bigger body than witch (also i'm not running blue so I can't activate blood fire mentor).
you're good man, didnt come off as aggressive. no worries here
the setup i described as "ideal" had to do with also having warteye witch out at the same time as thoughtpicker and have nothing die to removal before locking. no reason to get defensive haha.
I mean this isnt the archetype I'd want to turn into a project (At least now- im working on other things i have more faith in currently haha), it was more for the memes. but thanks for the comment/offer!
Yeah the "combo" if i can even call it that is super fragile which is why I don't think, like you said, a deck can rely entirely on it which is why I have carrion feeder and the like in there. The thoughpicker "combo" is more of a "well if it happens -hurray!" thing. Stinkweed isn't a bad idea either- not sure my deck can take full advantage of it though.
they're going to be reprinted at rare for mh2, but yeah im sure the alt arts are going to be pricey. i just hope at least one of the variants would go down- but at the price the boxes are looking to be going at- i'm not sure anymore.
o yeah for sure- the old border ones are HOTTTTT.
