also, since you have red in the deck, why not try Bazaar Trader? it's a card from ZEN block, 2 cmc to cast, with the ability T: target player gains control of target artifact, creature or land you control. this would be really great for transferring Spellbook to your opponent, which will greatly increase Adamaro's stats and the damage from Gaze of Adamaro. ^_^ cheers!!
have you thought of including black vise? it could do a lot of burst on your opponent after all the card draw you forced on him. also, though it might be very taxing to balance things out, maybe you could consider splashing in black for sign in blood and blood gift demon? maybe even underworld dreams? but, these cards will be hard to fit in, and your set up is already quite good. but i really do recommend throwing in Black Vise.
yup. post M13, pre RtoR, so it includes cards from M12 and SoM block that will be standard until October, before Return to Ravnica comes in and M12 and SoM phase out. also, i'll make changes to the deck only when i acquire the cards i need. i don't wanna list cards i dont own yet, even if i know i'm about to get them. thanks!
good point, sir. hahaha i'll get around to changing the list here soon, as i'm a little busy at the moment with prelims. thanks for the comment!
solid deck, man. i like it. i'm not such a big fan of Bant, but his build makes me wanna try it out. it's that good. haha your sideboarding is pretty smooth, too. the only thing i would consider changing is swapping out one tree of redemption for another witchbane orb, but that all depends on your metagame, and since it looks like you really know what you're doing, i'd trust that you have a good reason for why these things are in here. also, you mentioned having beast tracker in the description, but i don't see it. maybe you forgot to throw it in? good luck at the tournament! have fun!
solid deck, man. there's nothing else i can say. i just wish it were standard, 'cause i don't really play modern that much. if you have the time, check out my grixis control deck. i'd love to hear any suggestions you would make to it, as i'd like to get it ready for serious FNM gaming soon. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=371697 thanks!!!
ah. so, where did you get the idea for the o-ring mana barbs into worldfire set up? O.O
great concept, man. smooth synergies, just how a deck should be. if i had the cards, i would play this set up for weeks! good work! inspiring brew, man. if you have the time, i'd love to hear any suggestions you would make for my main deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=371697 and this BG Slaver i thought of. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=372018 your comments and suggestions shall be well appreciated! thaaanks!! imma like this list! haha
you guys should really drop the rakish heirs in your BR vamp decks. it's just not that reliable. i mean, sure it does have nice utility, but don't expect your opponent to just sit back and let you rack up the +1+1 counters. rakish heir can easily be taken out with some instant spot removal. i would drop the set of rakish heir and get 2 more stromkirk captains instead. then, drop the vamp nocturnus 'cause you aren't playing mono black, and a transformed bloodline keeper with a stromkirk captain in play is already good support for your other vamps. also, get another half set of stromkirk noble, 'cause that's the best one drop for BR vamps. you can also get away with just having 2 olivia voldarens in deck, 'cause if you intend to run an aggro deck, the game wont last long enough for you to use her to her fullest. i'd suggest throwing in fervor, so that if you set one down on turn three, you can put down a bloodline keeper on four and tap for a token right away, or any other creature you have can swing for that matter. you'll also need some card draw, so try to throw in sign in blood. you'll get your life back from nighthawk anyway. if you have the time, check out my grixis control. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=371697 and my BG slaver http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=372018 and tell me what you think. i need some second opinions on them. thanks!
good concept! but don't you think you're running a little too low on lands to be running this smoothly? i dunno, that's just my opinion. but anyways, if you've tested this deck already and run it through some good games, then cool. if you have the time, check out my grixis control and tell me what you think. i'd like to have it ready for serious FNM gaming soon, and i need some notes. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=371697 -('o' -) tadaa thenksss!!!!
i need some notes on my main deck. any and all suggestions will be well appreciated, especially suggestions from within INN block and M13 http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=371697 thenkkssss!!!!!!!!
hahahaha o-ring manabarbs worldfire. ooooooh yeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! let the staring begin. ^_^
there's been a lot of B/R vamp decks coming out lately. hahaha anyways, you're missing the essential one-drop for a B/R vamp aggro deck, which is stromkirk noble. and if that's somehow not an option, you'll have to find another one drop you can use to fill the space, 'cause most all good aggro decks will rely on that first turn summon to start the x turn clock on their opponent. bloodline keeper is much better than rakish heir, so i suggest dropping the heirs for another copy of bloodline keeper, and some card draw, like altar's reap or sign in blood. you can also drop the havengul vampire, as it's a little expensive for a fast deck, and it's not so reliable anyway, as it can be easily taken out with instant spot removal or even a tough blocker. blood throne vampire is a nice creature for this deck, since you'll be generating tokens with bloodline keeper, you'll have plenty to feed to bloodthrone to pump her for taking out bigger creatures or dealing good damage. you can also drop the mark of the vampire, as it is also a little too expensive for what you intend to achieve. i suggest you throw in some copies of fervor, to speed thing up a bit more. if you have the time, check out my grixis control deck, and tell me what you think. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=371697 -('o' -) tadaaa thenksss!
i need notes on my main deck. it'd also be great if any suggested cards are from M13 and INN block, as i'd like this deck to remain standard once October rolls in and M12 and SoM phase out. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=371697 -('o' -) tadaaa! thenks!
yeah! i didn't even think of using nightshade peddler! good call. hahah thanks.
yeah, i am aware that the deck badly needs more mana sources, and though i'd love to add in sphere of the suns, i dont have any copies, and it's about to phase out of standard as well, and i'd like as much as possible for any future additions to the deck to be coming from the new blocks. same goes for the two sun's zeniths and ponder. i was planning to swap dissipate in, once i had acquired some copies, along with tribute to hunger. mutilate would be great, but the presence of two other basic lands might hinder it's effectiveness. negate and essence scatter are ready to be sideboarded in, should the need arise. and bolas, well, he's kinda out of budget for me. haha thanks for the suggestions, though! i'll be looking in to them during play tests.
i was thinking of including those artifacts, but with all the artifact hate people are running in their decks these days, i'm not so sure. but i have been considering it. also, with regards to blasphemous act, i'd love to have copies of it, as it is an excellent board sweeper, unfortunately it's a 'lil outta budget. sorin's vengeance is meant to be a back up win con, especially against decks that don't run counter magic, and i'd like to have sorin in, but he's no longer standard, and he too is unfortunately out of budget. thanks for the comment, though. ^_^
i love Grixis toooo! hahaha i like this take on Grixis. this deck is one of the more creative ones using Grixis i've seen here. and, as it seems to be a modern deck, why not throw in some copies of the rack? also, why not try using Hypnotic Specter instead of Liliana's specter, for a more consistent source of damage + discard for the same mana cost? throwing in some dual lands could help ease the mana pool as well, but in the end it's all up to you. it's always best to go with what you're comfortable with, and what you feel will work within your metagame. all in all this is a cool deck with a refreshing concept, and i'd love to be able to play it, if i had the cards to build it. if you have time, check out my take on Grixis control. i'd love to here any suggestions you would make to the deck, and bounce some ideas as well. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=371697 -('o'-) tadaaa! thenks! cheers!
i'd swap either the ravenous rats or black cat for blood artist, since either one of those two is already enough for some disruptive discard, and blood artist is nice for it's utility. also, maybe add an olivia voldaren in the sb? other than that, it's a pretty smooth comp, and one of the better takes on Grixis iv'e seen here. also,i like your name. it reminds me of Golden Sun. ^_^ if you have the time, i'd like to hear any suggestions you would make for my Grixis control, as i'd like to have it ready for serious FNM gaming soon. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=371697 -('o' -) tadaa! thenkss
